This B&B really has a wow factor! Soissons is a beautiful little city and Casa la Palma is in a mansion (I would guess mid 19th Century) a ten minute walk from the centre. Our room (Gauguin Suite) is a huge second-floor attic conversion nestling among the giant roof-timbers. The proprietor has plainly spent much on the conversions, and is rightly proud of his establishment. He wants people to enjoy and appreciate it. Our room was huge and warm: the bed huge and comfortable. The Shower was hot and powerful! The breakfast was typically French, but very good! The garden, which guests can enjoy, is a riot of statuary. Parking was easy, although the presence of a beautiful Bentley and an (apparently sulky according to its German Owner) Rolls Royce, obliged us to park our more modest Dacia a little further down the road!

The toilet is a twenty-metre walk from the shower room, and would benefit from a washbasin (which it lacks). A couple of the electric sockets are unusable. Although there is a modern fitted kitchen, it lacks any equipment or basic provision (e.g. tea or coffee, crockery, cutlery). Similarly, the bathroom lacked any toiletries. The wall-mounted toilet was seemingly installed by someone of large stature. I am a modest 5'10" and, not to be indelicate, my feet dangled some 4" (10 centimentres) from the floor! How my 5'2" wife managed, I can only guess.

An elegant house on an equally elegant street. We had a ground floor apartment, easily accessible with its own entrance. The apartment was spacious and the bedroom comfortable. Parking was easy, right outside on the street with security cameras. We arrived in Soissons right on dusk but really enjoyed strolling down the wide avenue on which Casa la Palma is situated where we could admire the late 19th Century villas and the looming facade of the cathedral. We had to leave early the next morning to catch a plane but look forward to returning to this interesting town.

A lack of any utensils (no crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils) in an otherwise excellently appointed kitchen meant that it was impossible to use. The exception, two small and two larger wine glasses (but no cups)! Also, there was just one liquid soap container for the basin, shower and toilet area.

It was a comfortable, elegant house and our room was lovely. It looked like something out of a film set. The house was well situated and parking very easy. Breakfast was good - perhaps some fruit would have been nice. It was lovely introduction to Soissons which we have passed through but never stayed in

The check in time was just about acceptable. We happened to see the owner arrive and checked with no trouble. But I sympathise with those who experienced difficulties. It is not acceptable especially as it is not a cheap place to stay. I too wondered why there was no cutlery or crockery in a well fitted kitchen!

The breakfast was basic but very nicely presented. The bed was very comfortable.

Needs a full length mirror in the room.The mirrors that are there are too high for some people, anyway, they only show a head, not a whole person. Nothing in the kitchen…….no mugs, cutlery, nothing. Not much us having a kitchen without anything in it. No toiletries…..no shampoo, body lotion, nothing. Only soap in a dispenser. Need to tell guests to bring toiletries. And tea and coffee and milk if they will want it in the room.

It was in an excellent location the room was spacious and the property was clean and quirky

The room had a full kitchen but after looking there was no pans dishes or anything so we had to ask for cups , it should not show this and a feature if nothing is provided, also no one was there even though we said we would be there between 6 and 7 pm. We had to telephone the manager/owner

Beautiful, quaint Guest house. Tastefully decorated with expensive furniture and furnishings. Very clean. Very large room with small immaculate kitchen and good sized bathroom. Welcoming host. Breakfast was complementary and served with a smile. Very comfortable indeed. Great location, restaurants nearby.

Set in a beautiful wide street with the most gorgeous houses that could only be in France, the property is spectacularly restored with modern twist. Had the attic room with super views, space and very nice en suite. Great host!

Nothing! Although when we arrived the locked gate was a bit disconcerting until we realised we had to call the owners!

After some initial confusion about check in time because I didn't read the info properly we had a great stay and exceptional sevice right up to a lift back to the station when we were leaving.

Spacious room with large bed, nice seating plus equipped kitchen. Loads of character inside and out with friendly attentive staff.

For us there is nothing to dislike. Although the stairway to our 2nd floor room was a little narrow.

Beautiful building. Very friendly hosts. Huge bedroom.

Found the toilet pan too high. Continental breakfast a little basic.
