The Hilton's location conveniently halfway between the cruise port in the city and airport and adjacent to a supermarket across the highway by overpass, were the reasons for our choice of accommodation in Papeete, Tahiti in July 2024. For this second of two stays we requested a room closer to reception and the restaurants and this was delivered. Because we had to catch an early morning flight and therefore missed the exceptional buffet breakfast, the abundant breakfast boxes the hotel provided were more than sufficient and much appreciated. BUT ...

At early morning check out, I asked for the breakfast boxes, having previously arranged and confirmed them the night before, but the request had been FORGOTTEN! We waited a VERY long time while the kitchen prepared the boxes. Fortunately they were delivered to us in the taxi just as we were about to depart for the airport. There was MORE than enough breakfast in the boxes so we shared the contents with a fellow traveller while waiting in the very overcrowded airport. Hilton Hotel Tahiti is a superb place to stay in comfortable rooms close to the city, cruise port and airport with many onsite restaurant choices and we enjoyed our two stays there.

I think the breakfast should have been included in the tariff for a room. We did not have breakfast at all in the hotel restaurant.

I had particularly asked for a room that did not have a shower over a bath as that is too difficult for me to get out of. We were put into a room with twin beds but the incorrect shower. Next day moved to a room with a separate shower, different view, but no reduction in price. A bottle of champagne for the inconvenience, but I then slept on the sofa bed, which was a good height but not as comfortable as the bed the first night.

The location was built to feel secluded but there is a mall across a walkway that provides a grocery store and many food options other than what is at the hotel. It greatly increased our experience. The pool was perfect for the kids while parents can get to relax and watch from pool sun beds. The hotel rooms are beautiful, functional and clean. Each room has a beautiful view of the grounds and even though we had a garden view we noticed that we still got a partial ocean view. Parking for car rental is free across the street at the mall.

The hotel is about a 30min walk to town but with car rental close by it was the best option to get around the island and rentals can be setup inside the hotel concierge.

The Hilton Tahiti excels in its convenient location, making it an ideal stopover for anyone exploring French Polynesia. Its proximity to the airport is a huge time-saver, especially when you're hopping between islands. Similarly, being pretty close to the ferry terminal means travel time to places like Moorea is kept impressively low. Beyond transit, the hotel is also nicely situated near a handy little shopping strip, complete with a Carrefour, making it super easy to pick up any last-minute essentials or treats. The hotel's amenities are definitely a strong point. The nice pool offers a great position and outlook towards the beach, perfect for unwinding. There are also lots of dining options available, providing variety during your stay.

Our experience with check-in and check-out, was a bit inconsistent, which was the only real downside. We stayed here twice – once upon arrival in French Polynesia and again after returning from Moorea. On the second occasion, our room wasn't ready by 3 PM, which was disappointing given the price point. Additionally, our pre-booked taxi to the airport wasn't reserved as requested on the first visit, though it did arrive on time the second time. This inconsistent check-in and check-out experience, which is often your first and last encounter with a hotel's "brand," left us a little puzzled. Despite these minor inconsistencies, the Hilton Tahiti's excellent location and good amenities make it a practical and comfortable choice for travelers needing a convenient base in Tahiti.

My stay at Hilton Hotel Tahiti was excellent. The hotel is elegant and beautifully designed, with a calm, upscale atmosphere. My room was spacious, spotless, and had a lovely view of the ocean. The pool area is stunning — big, clean, and perfect for relaxing. I also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a great selection of fresh and local food. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to assist. The location is convenient, just a short drive from the airport and close to Papeete. Everything felt smooth and comfortable from check-in to check-out. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Loved the pool and there was a mini mall and grocery store right across the street.

The tv only had french channels, no beach to lay out on or swim at that was walking distance.

Beautiful property!! Fantastic views from room #440 Large pool. Poolside menu service was excellent. Ordered the poke bowl. It was fresh and absolutely delicious! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Concierge staff and reception staff were also friendly. Walking distance to shopping and huge local town market near ferry terminal. Clean, spacious rooms. Loved our stay despite the minor issues.

Swimup bar service was slow during happy hour Our bath towels had set in stains and one had a rip. It was corrected quickly Like everything in Tahiti, food and drinks are pricey. $20 cocktails. Breakfast buffet was $50/person. We also tried the a la carte service on the terrace. Service was really slow and they burned my croissant sandwich

Pool and pool bar area, room size, cleanliness were spot on. View from room, gardens very pretty. Even with minor issues was a very nice stay. Day porter Neal was awesome, helpful and is a credit to the hotel.

Lack of towels at the pool. Patchy service in the pool bar restaurant, slow to clean room had to ask. Check in wasn't great the staff were surly and didn’t explain anything had to work it out for ourselves, take our own bags to room even though there was night porter. No hot water on day one and no apology for it juts told issues, lucky it was resolved that day.

This is an outstanding hotel. The pool is amazing - very large, not crowded when we were there in May. The hotel itself is beautiful and the room was very nice and comfortable. The staff are excellent and helpful. We booked a tour through the Concierge who was also super helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Be aware that the convenience store hours in the hotel seem to not follow what's posted on the door. Supposed to close at 8:00 pm, but I think that means the person working there is all closed up and out of there by 8:00 pm, so if you show up at 7:45, they'll probably be sitting in there with the door locked.

Great swimming pool, spacious rooms, even with two queensize beds if available, location close to Papeete, airport and the harbour, helpful staff, lovely and large entrance to the hotel and lobby. The location and position of the lobby, like more good spaces in Papeete allows a pleasant sea breeze to go through it. A Carrefour supermarket easily walked to by a bridge crossing the road.

Service was very slow at dinner time when the hotel was well occupied. Breakfast was extensive but a bit too expensive.
