I stayed in two rooms -a room with two beds and a Junior Suite. Rooms were spotless and very comfortable.

The bathroom was the worst I have experienced. There was a shower over the bath and when you showered the water flowed alongside the bath onto the bathroom floor as there was no drain to cater for this. This was the same in both rooms. The reception area had multiple sofas, but the covers need replacing as they are cracked leather. Pool was lovely, but bar was closed. Pool was open to 7pm, but it was dark at six and no lights. Plus bar closed and not operating at all

The Hotel Receptionists were helpful, nice and friendly. Very central and close to port and shops, cafes and restaurants. A rental car service is coveniently located just 50 metres from hotel. The swimming pool is clean and nice. The taxi transfer booked through hotel are prompt and friendly and the price charged is very good.

After a 14 day cruise, we were all tired and only wanted to have rest in our hotel room. The check-in time was 1.00 pm but it was delayed till 3.30-4.00 pm. I only found out on the last day that hotel housekeeping starts from 1st floor to 6th floor which means housekeeping could be in late afternoon after 3.30pm. So if you are staying on the higher floors and you want an earlier housekeeping time, then you will need to notify hotel reception.

This hotel has been going through a recent upgrade and was much better than we anticipated. We had a room away from the street - it was quiet with a view of the mountains. Excellent facility, with comfortable bed and good air conditioning, and great location for our needs. We arrived on a red-eye flight, and paid extra for an early morning check-in and one night before we left on a cruise. Easy to walk around the center of Papeete...and if you don't want to buy expensive meals, walk a few blocks to Easy Market - a grocery store with an excellent selection of prepared foods.

Only one complaint - we wanted a cab to the cruise dock (which is very close to the hotel but we had luggage). The front desk arranged for the "cab" but it was not a cab with a meter and probably charged us more than we should have paid.

Location to the ferry terminal was good. Hotel was not in the most nicest part town. Room size was excellent & beds were very comfortable. The view from 421 was not that nice. We had dinner at the restaurant on site, a little annoying that it doesn’t open until 7.00 but the service & food were amazing. Well worth a visit. Comfortable short stay.

The whole hotel was so dimly lit. Struggle to see the room number on the door. The breakfast was a rip off for what you paid & what was available. Just don’t do it.

- Spacious and comfortable room - Outstanding massage by Anne Lise at the SPA - Pool - Central location, easy walk to the ferry, even with luggage

- Breakfast is expensive and could be more varied with more local food - Pool definitely needs umbrellas as there is no shade at all and it's very hot - One of the extra mattress provided for kids was extremely old and uncomfortable. Looked more of a box spring than a mattress

The room was very big and had a refrigerator, shower, and large bathtub. It felt like a small apartment. The air conditioning was very effective and overall it was clean and spacious. I ended up arriving two days before my partner, and I felt very comfortable alone here as an American woman. The employees were helpful and able to comfortably converse in English.

My room faced the very busy Prince Hinoi Street and it was pretty loud into the evening. The tv was a bit small to be able to see from the bed (it does not face the couch). I wish there had been a microwave or working stovetop.

It’s a lovely building with good sized goods and ample furnishings. The decor is a tasteful, understated mix of modern Asian and Tahitian. The staff are helpful, if not perhaps patient at all times.

Tahiti Nui is a lovely building, that seems to be a little lacking in final touches. I had a huge room with ample seating and a comfortable bed. It was situated on the road side which was quite loud (contrary to my request for a quiet room). While there are soaps, there are no soap dishes. The shower sported high end looking fixtures, but no water pressure. There was a small kitchen with an apartment refrigerator (the door for which would not close tightly), but only 4 salad plates, 4 mugs and utensils. No way to wash them. Was I meant to make the staff wash them? What if I wanted to eat there more than once? Why no bowls? Going to so much effort to have the rooms and furnishings then failing to have the little things made the room seem barren and cold.

We had the 2 bedroom and it was spacious, beds comfy though the rooms were a bit dark. Bathrooms seemed to be recently renovated, lots of hot water. Nice large living room, dining area, kitchen and extra long balcony. Hotel is rt next to a gas station and they had a 24 hour convenience store which had all the necessary food items. This was very convenient since we arrived late Saturday and nearly everything closes by 9pm and most restos closed on Sundays. Big grocery store was only 4 blocks away.

Definitely showing it's age, many areas needed a paint job. No cleaning supplies for the kitchen, no dish rag. We used bath soap and hand towel to wash dishes.

The hotel and rooms are extremely modern, new and clean. Our room had a separate are with a door where our daughter could stay. Staff is very nice, and there is an excellent restaurant and bar on the premises. Location is excellent, short walk from ferry and in downtown. Hotel is close to airport and staff will make sure you have a taxi there, even at 4AM.

Wish we could have stayed longer! Hotel is beautifully designed but unfortunately being in the tropics wears on building materials and causes damage. However, everything was extremely clean and comfortable. The last time I stayed in Papeete it was a nightmare, in an old school hotel that reeked of cigarette smoke. This is a modern hotel and is very grand and comfortable. Don’t hesitate to book.

The location was good

What I thought was very dangerous was the fact there wasn’t any lightning in the passageway. We did report it but after 4 days nothing was done. We couldn’t see to put our key in the bedroom door. There was also a a step to get over when you come or go out of your room that you couldn’t see as it was so dark in fact the whole hotel was dark.
