The staff was extremely friendly, and did everything in their ability to articulately communicate with me in English versus their native language of German. The breakfast was amazing. I was traveling alone, but was put in a standard double room at no additional charge. The room did not appear to have air making the windows open, but being that this is a small town or a village area there was minimal noise to interrupt my sleep. The heating element in the bathroom was active, which was very nice being it. Allowed me to rinse out my clothes and dry before packing. This was an issue in our lodging at the prior city where we stayed, and it was significantly cooler and raining every day so drying out, the clothes before packing them was almost impossible. The property is located in the heart of the small touristy district so plenty of things were in walking distance. This region of Europe was experiencing flooding during my stay, which caused several of the businesses to close due to exposure to water. The staff gave recommendations as how to adjust my itinerary to accommodate this unforeseen weather event, which caused the river to overflow and travel with such swiftness, that the ferrys between the river all had been closed.

Very little to complain about was a very nice property. However, upon initially entering my room, there was a odor, which was present, during the duration of my stay, but not unbearable. Being that this was a small hotel in Europe there was no ice machine readily available for guest use but upon going to the restaurant and or bar, they did not hesitate to give me a couple of glasses of ice to take to my room.

The property is right next to a very large park, which was fantastic because we brought our puppy with us! The breakfast fantastic and we also ate dinner in the restaurant attached to the hotel one night and it was also very very good! The staff were very helpful and sweet.

The location was just perfect, 450 m from the historic elevator where our trails in the national park started, 300 m from the Kirnitzschtalbahn tram, and right next to a very beautiful city park. Our room was very spacious, quiet and clean, with a seating area of 2 armchairs and a low table, and with a nice little balcony overlooking the city park. The bed was comfortable, the curtains were not blackout, but still managed to block out the sun quite well. There were cups, a coffee maker, and a minifridge in the room. The breakfast (starts at 7 am) was very good: scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, regional salads, lots of cold cuts, cheeses (+white and blue mold), breads, jams, fresh yoghurts, vegetables and fruits, and musli-making stuff. It was presented exceptionally well, with decorations of berries and nuts. We liked the hotel premises (a nice little garden) a lot. We also liked the shower and that the shampoo and liquid soap are in wall-mounted squeezable containers.

The hairdryer was abysmal: in the 10 or so minutes I needed to dry my less-than-shoulder-length hair my hand started to ache, as you have to keep the button pressed for the dryer to work. We met a group of ants right on our desk (4-5), probably due to the green surroundings of the hotel. The TV is not watchable from the bed, as it faces perpendicular to it. The breakfast staff asking you for your room number every day feels really awkward and made us uncomfortable. It's unlike everywhere we've ever been to.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very confortable. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice that was slightly changed everyday.

I had a room at the first floor and there was a bit of noise due to the transit of cars in the road in front of the hotel. Nothing really crazy but probably a room at higher floor would have been better.

An excellent hotel, among the more successful in town, very clean, staff who speak English (this is a rare thing in this part of Germany). Huge room, excellent shower, amazing and very large and indulgent breakfast. Located right in the main square, there are lots of restaurants and cafes around

There is no air conditioner in the rooms and in the hotel, this is a terrible thing in all of Europe and especially in Germany, we visited at a time when the heat was still bearable. But for visitors in July and August it will simply be a nightmare

Everything was wonderful ! I had a nice staying there and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very delicious and the hotel was pretty quiet , the bed was very comfortable. Very good experience i definitely recommend the hotel !

The photos actually don't do justice to this place. We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was. It was an apartment with 2 rooms, a kitchenette and best part, a really nice balcony area to take in the mountains.

Not a big one, but has only 1 bathroom for 2 rooms / 4 people. The pillows could've been better too.

Good quality, medium sized hotel in a pleasant, central location with a park next door. We were given a very large, comfortable room overlooking the park. The restaurant is of a higher standard than many others in Bad Schandau with a good choice of vegetarian and vegan options.

Great location and breakfast. Dinner was great in the restaurant. All staff were very friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Rooftop terrace was an added bonus.

The shower wasn’t great but that’s the only negative and was tolerable for a few nights

The breakfast buffet was very varied. Every morning there was an information leaflet with the weather forecast and suggestions for walks and trips. Nice bathroom and good size bedroom. Plus was a refrigerator in the room, elevator and the roof terrace.

In the morning it took a long time before the water in the shower got warm enough.
