Fabulous hotel in an old, historic mill, full of interesting paintings - very friendly and helpful staff and particularly the owner, who couldn't have done more to make us welcome. Our apartment room was spacious and comfortable, with a separate lounge. Breakfast was amazing, and couldn't have been any better in a 5-star hotel. Plenty of choice, and it would be hard to think of anything else that could have been supplied. The meal in the restaurant was particularly good. Parking was OK (but booking advisable) and our dog was made welcome too!

My favourite place that I stayed on the Rheinsteig. Extremely atmospheric and large comfortable bed. Great facilities in the room and an absolutely amazing breakfast buffet. Owners were extremely friendly and offered me a takeaway bag for a packed lunch for during the day. Can’t recommend this place enough- really amazing stay for anyone on the Rheinsteig and I will definitely return

Had some slight issue with check in as I arrived quite late but it was sorted extremely fast- there is nothing I didn’t like about this place

We were looking for traditional accommodation and we found one. A quiet hotel and good history because few hotels have a working watermill inside.

When it rained, the rooms were very humid because there was no cooling ventilation. The same problem came when it was a sunny day, so the air in the rooms did not change. But this was traditional, so you can't demand any luxuries like in new hotels.

lovely historical place, with lots of charm, great breakfast with the possibility to take a pic nic. very kind people. they have a restaurant and a lovely garden where you can relax. we could put our by circle in a safe place and they reserved a parking place in front of the hotel for us. just perfect place to relax and start various hiking and bicycle tour.

our first bedroom was not really charming but we have moved the day after to a more typical and charming one.

Clean, nice specious room with enclosed patio area and parking (at additional cost). Good breakfast with plenty of choices served until 10:30. Dog friendly although we didn’t have our dog with us.

They didn’t respond to the questions I sent via email in advance of our stay, even when I translated them to German. The curtains were white so they let a lot of light in and the pillows were horrible, totally flat!

Receptionist who run around and spoke German all time, although I have informed her 3 times if we can communicate in English. She then spoke for few seconds and carried on anyway. Well 31 missed phone calls at reception desk says a lot

It was like staying in a museum in a good way! So many collections and past items nicely displayed Good bike storage. Wonderful breakfast. Wish I had more time there.

A wonderful old, traditional style German building with modern, clean, comfortable rooms. Perfect location for hiking the Rheinsteig. The breakfast buffet was delicious!

A beautiful mix of historical buildings and spaces with modern facilities. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, the breakfast was fantastic and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful old buildings with large room & bathroom. Lovely breakfast, and we felt very welcome.

Many stairs, but we had too much luggage!
