Great location for a stop when exploring the Black Forest region. We managed to explore Baden-Baden and Triberg before making our way down to Hofgut Sternen for the night. The food at the restaurant was sooo delicious as well - Did not expect much for a small restaurant in the middle of the forest but the food was flavourful and the price was reasonable as well (50eur/pp for 1 soup and 1 huge main). Room was spacious and clean, and I loved that the toilet had a heated drying rack. We reached there before sunset to explore the surrounding areas, and we absolutely loved the short walk near the Ravenna Railway Duct. The quiet and peaceful walk lead us to a small waterfall. The whole area just felt very quaint and peaceful which was really nice :)

The room could have benefitted from an AC, but I know it's uncommon in Europe. We went when the weather was nice and cool though, so the lack of an AC didn't bother us too much!

We came for 9 nights. Location and price were very attractive, breakfast was important as well. We got a large family room. Staff was very kind and helpful, free parking. Overall - very recommended.

Rooms are a bit old, and there is no air conditioning (we knew that, but that's still a minus) - We did get 2 fans that worked well. No refrigerator in the room, it would have been very helpful to have a small mini bar to cool some food/water. Rooms can be cleaned more thoroughly, and it would have been nice not to explicitly ask the reception to clean the room (we asked every 2 days, otherwise they won't clean it and won't replace towels). Breakfast was nice, but when you stay a long period, it really repeats itself. more diversity would have been appreciated. Still, great value for money.

Beautiful location! Right next to one of the hiking trails leading to a waterfall. Friendly and professional staff. There is a lot of history in this place that’s very interesting. Surrounded by mountains and trees, a perfect place to hike and unwind. Breakfast was included and very nice, a lot of options.

Just a small tip for improvement — connect smart tv to wifi so Netflix can be used & Maybe a larger shower head. Also our door in the shower was stuck but we told reception and someone came to fix it straight away, great service!

The location was very well maintained and there were many other places in the vicinity to go and see. The hotel has its own restaurants, cafe and shopping center showcasing some of the local handmade items. The rooms were also very nice and spacious.

This is probably trivial for many but as a coffee and tea lover, I would expect a lot more variety and quantity of tea and coffee in the room. Secondly, I would have liked a larger collection of salad and soups in the restaurant menu. The summer cuisine has to be fresher.

The location is great. The hiking trail along the creak and waterfall was beautiful. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating for Germany. It has a historic look but not lacking the amenities. Had a good breakfast spread with fresh food and many options. The staff also made for us anything if we wanted extra to what was already there. The staff speaks English. The hotel itself is a tourist location, and many tourists, both individual and big groups, came to visit the site, the surroundings, and the glass blowing shop where they make glass ornaments live and sell. Quite close to Titisee, Schluchsee, and Freiburg among other places to visit. Was cooler even in hot summer time. Perfect.

Everyday when we step out to explore soon after breakfast, the hotel grounds are swarming with Viking Cruise tour crowds (3 buses at a time!!!) And make it not so welcoming. Doesn't matter if you leave the hotel to explore elsewhere though. But it was annoying that they clog up the souvenir store, glass blowing store and the entire grounds blocking even the paths making us unable to drive out of the hotel. The highway next to the Ravennahaus and Goethesaale was too loud even through the night if you open or tilt the windows since Goethesaale and main building has no AC. Cars go over 100 kmh all night. No problem if the windows are closed.

Our room was very clean and spacious. The room got top marks for being cool, dark and quiet. Perfect sleeping conditions in my opinion. Our bed was the most comfortable one we slept in the 3 weeks we traveled through Europe. The bathroom was full-sized, with a tub and shower; excellent water pressure and sufficient hot water. The location was good, very picturesque, but close to the highway. There is a restaurant, a glass-blowing shop, and a clock shop on location. The restaurant was good. Not the best dinner we had in the Black Forest, but good. The included breakfast buffet was enormous, served in 2 rooms. Great variety and delicious! The staff were vey friendly and helpful. Our arrival time was significantly delayed by a series of cancellations and bad luck. I contacted the hotel with updates on our arrival and was assured that someone would check us in once we arrived, well after 10 pm. That was about the only thing that did go right that day. I would stay here again.

The hotel is not in a town, or village. If you wanted dinner elsewhere, it required a car to drive there. However, the hotel was central to the places we wanted to visit while in the Black Forest.

The bathroom is so modern and clean that it looked as good as brand new. Very good water pressure and very spacious. Room is spacious and has a balcony. The elevator also saved me from carrying my luggage. Staff was nice. Breakfast buffet was excellent too. Free parking which didn’t require any reservations. Dog-friendly! Happy to see other people’s dogs.

Hotel restaurant closed already at 9:30pm, and the biergarten next to the hotel didn’t serve any food.

Good price, rooms are renovated, spacious and clean. Bed is comfortable, shower also big. A water stream outside the hotel. Huge kuku clock and clock store which is nice even just for window shopping.

Pillows have no shape. If you're tired after a hike, the only walkable restaurant is the hotel's. On the other hand, the remote location is also an advantage. Strange thing about the booking - they told us they are fully booked but ok Booking as well as on their own website they had available rooms. Eventually they sent us an offer which was more expensive than what they show on their website... so we booked through Booking.

Location was good and things to do, great for walking

We arrived at the hotel at tea time and were told we could not eat at the restaurant as it was full. Given a piece of paper with other restaurants in the area all in German. Luckily we had some food in the car ate in the room. No compromise on food for us not even a suggestion they could do something for us.When you book your confirmation should advise to book the restaurant before your arrival.

We came by car for the Ravenna Gorge Christmas Market and the location is perfect and beautiful and appreciated the free parking on site, there was also one car charger that one can use if available and it costs 15 EUR for a full charge, we also brought our dog and she was very comfortable the room was big and cozy and had a nice view over the bridge , also had a lift which was perfect for taking up luggage and our dog. Breakfast was good and also cozy , will for sure come again we loved the Black Forest Area.
