Loved the location, really beautiful and was able to really relax. The staff members were great. My mini goldendoodle who was with me loved how much attention she got from everyone who always stopped to greet her or give her treats. Breakfast was always really good too. It is surrounded by nature so I could take my dog on long walks and take beautiful pictures! Would definitely visit again

I enjoyed the stay but the rooms aren’t really soundproof, so could hear other people move around in their rooms. I am a very light sleeper, so that is why it was very noticeable. I also had an emergency exit sign in my room that is very bright of course. I understand there are safety measures that have to be in place, so I just covered it in the night when I wanted to sleep. Further than that no complaints at all!

Stay in style! Wonderful castle, surrounded by great wooded walking area. The operators organise various sport and educational activities to earn the upkeep of the castle, along with parties and events. While there on a Sunday, it was as relaxed and quiet as it gets. Great place for kids too, with adventurous and l-a-r-g-e playgrounds. Attentive and friendly staff are as one expects. Quite reasonable pricing is a surprise for this kind of style.

Next time we’ll bring our own little water cooker, which we missed.

Very quaint countryside location in an old castle with copious grounds around some set up as sports facilities. Right on the border between Netherlands and Germany. Drove down tiny unpaved roads to get there from Netherlands. Room under the eaves in old castle extension. Full of character with a sort of wide corridor area running past the rooms with miscellaneous old chairs that can be pulled up to the old windows to sit and look out during spare moments. Several bar areas in courtyard both indoor and out, but as this building serves as a wedding venue, team building, group visit centre as well as hotel, it can be a bit confusing what facilities are open to all and what just for a specific visitor group. Good system of selling local wines - with cash box based on trust by the door. We enjoyed a delicious bottle of cooled white wine in our room from there. Also some snacks too. Breakfast is extra, but only 10€ and more than worth it. It made my partner’s day, he enjoyed it so much. There was no public restaurant but we had eaten at lunchtime and had our own home-made sandwiches with us that we enjoyed in our room. Staying here made a different and excellent start to our holiday.

Just a little bit of uncertainty about which parts were for all hotel guests and which for specific groups. It could do with sorting out it’s different identities a bit more somehow so ordinary hotel guests don’t feel they might be intruding on group provisions, e.g. there was a barbeque going on for one of the groups and it wasn’t clear which tables, snacks, areas were just for them and which for everyone. Also a shame that the restaurant wasn’t open except at weekends for those who needed it - which we didn’t.

We stayed here by chance on a long drive across the Netherlands and Germany after another hotel let us down. Absolutely loved it. The castle is wonderful and the room was quiet and very comfortable. Some nice forest walks around. Very helpful staff. Restful sound of water trickling into the moat at night. Quirky beer cellar. Loved the honesty bar. Convenient free parking. Little town nearby has supermarket and restaurants. Very dog friendly.

A beautiful and quiet place to stay. Staff very friendly. My room was clean and well equipped. The cellar bar was a really nice surprise. I will be returning to the hotel and area again.

I stayed in a single room and decided not to have breakfast. It would of been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Beautiful castle and surroundings. Room was very spacious with lovely comfortable beds. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice. This was a return visit for myself and my dog. Lots of walks in the countryside.

Nothing to criticise

we had an amazing time. you can take strolls around the castle and into the forest, go to the city center by foot. very child and pet (cat) friendly. amazing beer garden and really lovely staff. the breakfast was tasty and quite varied. we are planning to come back - it’s very rare to find such a gem and it’s definitely worth the money. the room is simple but it has all you might need.

Very nice located small castle where we enjoyed our evening. Nice room and very good beds. The breakfast was more than sufficient and with good coffee. Friendly staff. Would stay there again for sure!

Everything was fine

Great location between Germany and the Netherlands. Peace and quiet. Beautiful park and fields. Beautiful castle and surroundings. Excellent breakfast. Brilliant and friendly staff. A small "minus" is that there is no fully functioning restaurant. You have to make an appointment and order in advance (and only for groups) to have a barbecue. Fortunately for us, we joined one of the groups that a few people didn't reach. BBQ cooked food was great. However, if you want to eat something, you can order a pizza or a steak from nearby restaurants, and if you don't speak German, the staff will do it for you.

No fully operational restaurant to eat on site any time.

Beautiful castle stay with a good breakfast, accommodating staff, large Biergarten, incredible playground with large obstacle course for the kids, goats and lots of games.
