The manager spoke good English and was very helpful. The breakfasts were excellent.

The lifts would not be suitable for disabled people on some levels as they come out half way between levels. The historic bit of Goerlitz is a fair hike away.

Old, historic, a piece of history. Like going back in time to fin de siecle . Staff are great. Very helpful, very friendly. Great customer service. My meal had an ingredient I cannot eat. The meal was replaced, no issues and not charged!!

No air conditioning but because it’s historic, authorities won’t permit. Other than that, very good

the interesting and antique decor the location was close but not in the town centre so was peaceful our rooms balcony was very welcome and the well appointed rooms were more interesting than your basic everything is the same hotel plus the outside is a very nice architectural example

nothing about the property however we arrived in the evening and were greeted with locked doors and not a great explanation on the phone of where to go to find entrance and the man that greeted us after that was relaxing in n restaurant and obviously a bit drunk when he finally opened door..for me this was ok cool and quirky I mention it because I’m sure other folks may find it off putting..it in no way reduced our enjoyment of our stay and I can’t blame a guy for having a couple of beers..😉

The hotel is typical of Gorlitz- it looks great. Charming building with a good and somewhat historic atmosphere. Close to Gorlitz station. Gorlitz itself is lovely but surprisingly unvisited. Liked the Gorlitzer Kartoffelhaus. The restaurant 20 metres inside Poland at the end of the Altbrucke is really good. I had been put off by reviews. Going to Zittau is something I can recommend and then walking to Dreilandpunt, the meeting point of the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland. Warning, be careful when buying tickets on SVB trams. Check what is on the screen carefully.

Happy with the Hotel Silesia, so liked everything and would stay there again.

All of the staff were so friendly! they gave us tips and suggestions on what to see. We felt like we were in an old timey European movie the whole time we were there. wonderful breakfast too!

Quite a cozy hotel for a decent price. The breakfast was good and differentiated, like in many German hotels. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The parking is spatious and comfortable. The hotel is quite close to the railway station (not more than 10 minutes on foot).

1) The windows are old, there is no airconditioning (at least I didn't find one) 2) Location: the downtown area (and the Polish town of Zgorzelec) is a little further away, you might need a tram or a car, or some more time to go there.

Owner/manager was great! Very personable. Gave us a ride to train station on Sunday when no taxis were available. Breakfast was very nice; lots of selection. Huge corner room; so different than most European hotels. We loved being able to open windows and get a cross breeze. Beautiful outside patio to enjoy drinks or dinner.

Pillows were bad. They need to replace with more firm pillows. No ice in the bar. Flooring could be updated, but not bad. Be prepared for 20-25 minute walk to Old Town.

The staff was very accommodating to my needs. The room was spacious and the balcony was very nice to relax on in the afternoon sun. Enjoyed a good meal at the restaurant. Highly recommend!

Lovely old hotel, comfortable and met our needs. Helpful owner and staff. A nice traditional restaurant just down the road. We will come again.
