The rooms were spacious and well-equipped. The hotel is situated in a quiet side street, backing on to woodland, but less than 5 minutes walk to the S-Bahn which takes you into central Munich in about half an hour. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful.

There was building work going at the front of the hotel, and the temporary entrance was a bit unpromising. The rest of the hotel was not affected, though. One tiny niggle - a kettle and mugs for making hot drinks were provided in the room but no coffee or black tea, only a selection of herbal teas.

We had a great stay at Hotel Gut Schwaige! Very nice and helpful people. The room was large, also the bathroom. It was very clean! And, which is very practical, there are sockets attached to the sides of the bed's headrest, so you can charge your phone on the nightstand. Breakfast was great, including freshly prepared eggs in the way you want them (boiled, fried, scrambled). It was nice and quiet, stone stairs so no squeaky wood with which people might wake each other up. The hotel has its own parking lot, with precisely the right amount of (free) parking spaces. There's also an S-Bahn station nearby which is very convenient without causing noise disturbance. The supermarket is nextdoor, which is handy. Very nice central location close to Munich as well as the Alps, lakes and intriguing castles. If you're not sure where to go next, the owner is always happy to offer great suggestions for nice roads and locations to visit, and venues to have lunch or dinner. The team create a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. If we are ever back in the area, this will definitely be the place where we will stay. Thank you for a great holiday! P.S. We've checked and the highest point in the Netherlands is 322 metres and therefore fits about 9 times in the Zugspitze. ;-)

Staff greeted us and was very very thorough with his recommendations for food, transport, hikes and fun. He is an extremely lovely person. The room was quaint, clean and comfortable. Toilets were really clean and it truly felt like a welcoming home. It is close to the S bahn but the noise was quite soft from my room (no 1). There’s 2 convenience stores nearby (downstairs and next door) so it’s very convenient. Do note that the staff for the convenience stores restocks early in the morning but they were quiet during our stay so it did not bother us (might not be the same experience for other guests) and that there’s no lift so if you require a flat surface to bring yourself and the luggage up it will be difficult as the reception is on the second floor.

Breakfast was very good with a large selection of typical European choices. The staff was very attentive making sure we had everything we needed.

As an typical American we are used to having mini refrigerators in all our hotel rooms. Also since there is no air conditioning a fan would have been nice.

The owner is super helpful if you need any advice. I’d rather stay here than anywhere is the city but you will need a car to get to the best local restaurants and beer gardens. Better off using the train to get back and forth to Munich, car traffic there is slow.

Friendly owners / staff. Spotlessly clean rooms and an excellent breakfast buffet. Perfect location for us, as it is right on the Munchner Jacobsweg and in a very peaceful area.

Very nice staff and clean rooms! They are really uncomplicated with the check in and check out and there's a big parking lot.
