The friendliness of the staff, especially Lauren and Marcel (Mr. Fika) and the housekeeping staff; the cleanliness, and the location, make this place. As does the openness to welcoming artists and artwork and hosting cultural events and new art exhibits.

My suite, which cost more to upgrade to, naturally, was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel itself, including the lobby and everywhere else needs new carpeting, paint, lighting, and ventilation.

The hotel is really cool and I like how they kept some of the old prison features. I had a small room which was perfect for my short stay. The room provided everything I needed and I appreciated the breakfast. Parking was easy, too.

The hotel lists WIFI as an amenity, but does not work in the rooms. This was a bit of a bummer for me with some work I needed to do in the evening. Luckily I was able to use my own mobile hotspot, but I would have preferred to use the hotel's WIFI. It wasn't a big deal, but would have been good to know in advance.

It's particular. Different from every other hotel I've been in. If you're looking for an original experience, you will appreciate this hotel. Staff was very friendly. Private parking available. Quiet and clean room. Good position practically in the city center. Rich breakfast.

Comfortable bed, interesting locale. Good breakfast, free parking in the downtown area of Kaiserslautern. Well priced for all that is offered. Nice staff!

Community shower located down the hall, damaged shower hoses and shower heads that sprayed everywhere. Each room has a toilet and sink integrated into the sleeping area. No air conditioning, no wifi in the rooms (the hotel is a converted prison with thick walls, steel doors and bars on the windows, so this was not a surprise).

Sleeping in a cell was truly an experience! Beds are compact but comfy. For a single night taking a shower in a spacious shared bathroom was actually fine. Parking on site really convenient, as well as the location at walking distance from the city centre.

Good location near town centre, interesting prison experience. Room is functional but had everything needed. Breakfast was reasonable and offered some good options. There seemed to be very few other guests so it was quiet.

In general the hotel seems a bit dated.

It was memorable due to it’s past. Once you got to city center it was nice. The rooms were very clean.

Location was only fair. Information center at train station really didn’t know where it was. Breakfast was just ok. The rooms were very small.

The location was great. Staff was friendly. The bedroom was overall comfortable, and the badroom well equiped. The breakfast was great.

There was no internet connection in the room, and the showers were shared but not private. Also, it was a challenge to get into the top bunk.
