Fabulous hotel. Large comfy modern rooms with fridge. Great air conditioning and WiFi. Large modern bathroom. Very helpful and friendly staff, allowed me to upgrade my room for €20. Private hotel garage parking, must be reserved at time of booking. Hotel bar and restaurant closed on a Sunday, however there is a superb Vogel Hausbräu Durlach (brewery/bar/restaurant) next door which was open and can be accessed directly from the hotel. Breakfast had a superb variety of different dishes. Would stay here again.

Excellent breakfast and charging station for electric car.

The reasonable things first: The rooms are good and nice. Since I usually have it hard to find sleep in hotel beds, the beds were ok. Non-reasonable things: The artwork, especially Macke's paintings on transparent foils used as lighting is really wonderful. The wall filling painting of the swimmer (close to the elevator) is stunning. And last but not least, the Euclidean distance to the world's best beer is just some meters (even though one has to go out of the building and walk approx. 20m to find the main entrance of Vogel Bräu). The Macke inspired gadgets (on exhibit close to the reception) are really worth it. Unfortunately we had to leave early so we had no time at the end to buy some. The Blue Horse in the garden has it!

Breakfast is ok taking the the price of 23 Euros per nose into account. It is not excellent though. To my opinion, the "Laugenweck" are far too small and I personally miss "Schwartenmagen". Maybe these old fashioned things have come out of favor in Southern Germany as well. Replacing the bottle of water in the room each day would be a definitive plus. Hint: One should blast a direct opening between the Hotel Bar and the backside of Vogelbräu to allow people direct access.

A lovely hotel in the centre of Durlach with easy access to Karlsruhe. We didn't realise there was a restaurant inside the actual hotel before booking or would probably have booked to eat there on one night, but really enjoyed the brewery restaurant food and beer nextdoor and the hotel cocktail bar. Great bar staff. Comfortable bed, clean linen, friendly staff and excellent breakfasts. Secure parking in the basement. What's not to like?

Very hot corridor outside rooms. Shutters would be helpful.

Very comfortable large room with good sound proofing, which was important because it is next to a beer garden! The air conditioner worked perfectly and kept the room quiet and a comfortable temperature in August. The staff were so helpful, and made the process of charging our hybrid car easy. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. We would stay here again, when traveling.

No problems

It is a very comfortable room, well decorated, has an amazing bed, and a great breakfast. The suites are located in a separate building - it was a little hard to find. The room had a tub and all sorts of accessories for a relaxing stay.

They didn't offer us any help with luggage and it was hard to find the other building where the suites were located. You must also walk to the main building for breakfast, but I am nitpicking here.

The room was clean, comfortable and well soundproofed. the breakfast was of good quality. There is one thing that made a big impression on me. The gentleman who checked me in and the second gentleman who checked me out were both extremely nice and helpful. You can be proud of such employees.

Strategic position 10 minutes by walk to the train station of Karlsruhe and a few minutes to the work campus. Our room was quite spacious and clean.

25 euros for the early check in (not before 2 pm).
