Near the tram station, easy access to the city centre. I was the only one in 3-bed room, so felt more like a hotel. Very quiet and green neighborhood. The staff is kind. Good breakfast with several choices as cheese, eggs, meat, jam/honey, cereals, hot/cold drinks & etc. (I would also expect fruits). They have also provided lactose free milk upon my request. I've enjoyed my stay.

There were no toiletries in the bathroom, not even a soap. I had to ask for one from the reception. The next day when I was at breakfast, I have noticed that they came into the room (why before the check out?) and took the soap)), and again I had to go and ask for a soap which was really weird to me ))

Great value, very clean! Brilliant free breakfast. There's a hairdryer to borrow for free if you ask the staff on reception. The location isn't bad. It's just under an hour's walk from the city centre, (I walked along the river from the train station, as the weather was good) but close to the metro station. If you want to be out after the last metro train, you'll probably need to take a taxi. I'm still not sure where the 'bar' is. There is a bar listed on the facilities. There's a coffee bar with tables opposite the reception, and one evening I noticed a fridge w beer in next to the reception desk and one group of people sitting on the chairs for the coffee bar. So, I think that might have been the bar, it wasn't what I imagined, as I thought I could have a drink and meet other travellers maybe, but on the plus point that means there is no noisy bar🤷😅 Certainly a great hostel though, if I was looking for a hostel , I would stay again.

At breakfast half of the four slice toaster doesn't work, so only one person can toast at once. From the looks of the toaster I think it's been like that for a while (the side that works has brown marks from the heat, the other side has no marks). It would be a massive improvement if they bought a new toaster!

Very clean, well organised with friendly staff. I had a very comfortable bed in a fourbed dormitory with en-suite facilities. Breakfast 8-10am, was generous and outside those times a cafe/bar open till 11pm. Located close to Line 18 the Jugendherberge was a short journey from the station outside the Hbf. followed by a 3 minute walk. But for me a better option was to walk along the Rhine. Go left to pass the AXA tower block and as the road bends right take steps down to a.well lit paved foot/cycle path for an easy 15-20 minute stroll with the Dom and bridge always in sight.

Nothing! I had a very enjoyable stay.

The staff was super friendly, the breakfast was really good, it included different yogurts, juices, hot drinks, bread, fruits... they also had dinner options in a restaurant within the hostel. I could also store my luggage before check-in. The shared room was spacious for sharing with 5 girls, we had our own locker in the room, and the heating was great (in room, and in toilet and shower)

It is a bit far from the center, but very easy to reach by train (the problem was when there were train cancelations 😂, but not really the hotel fault). There is no soap in the sink or in shower.

The room was very comfortable and clean. The man running the cafe was very nice and the cafe food tasted good. The hotel left it's doors open late and briefed me in how to get in after they closed their doors for the night. My room had a locker in it, which I felt extra secure storing my items in. The bathroom was very clean and the towels were nicely presented. They left some fliers and chocolates in the room, which left a great impression on me.

The staff did not tell me what time breakfast ended, so I missed breakfast. They told me I could stay at the cafe until 11 after check out, but mentioned nothing about breakfast times. The cleaning staff also opened the door to my room a few minutes before my check out time to start cleaning, but I was coincidentally on my way out, anyways. However, it did startle me and it would be better to tell them to knock or give a verbal warning for anyone who might be a bit jumpy when it comes to strangers popping up into their hotel room randomly. But these two complaints wouldn't stop me from staying here again.

I booked a twin room. It was quite spacious, clean, and equipped with necessary amenities (except for hairdryer; apparently, you need to request it at the reception every time you need it). Breakfast was good, too. The hotel is situated by the river and is adjacent to a huge park. It's simply immersed in greenery! You can stroll, cycle or have a picnic there. It's also close to local zoo. Good choice for a family trip. Note that, the location is slightly far from the city center and major train stations (S/U Bahn). You can take a bus or tram, though.

Pillows are too soft. And requesting hairdryer every time isn't so convenient...

A classic Jugendherberge accommodation, belonging into the "Jugendherberge network" in Germany. We stayed in 4-people room for two days. All in all, it definitely belongs to the best Jugendherberge, where I stayed in the past (Goslar, Binz, Greifswald,Frankfurt, Cuxhaven,...)... The premises were quite new or renovated... the room war really spacious, I appreciate that the shower and toilet were both in separate rooms... beds ok, all with the small bed-light and plug-in. The facility was big enough with common space... breakfast were good as well.... Regarding the position, just 3 stops from main train station (or 1 stop from ZOO, which is worth to see) :-)

Here there is nothing much to complain... The towels were for 2€/person, which was a little surprise, as in Jugendherberge Frankfurt we got them for free.... also, I don't think its good and fair to charge small soap for the sink, this is something, what should be provided automatically... otherwise I don't have anything else to complain....

It’s located in a park at the riverside, giving you a quiet vibe from the hectic city. The breakfast buffet is decent considering the German standard.

- The material of bed mattress: I thought it was wet at first then realised it wasn’t. Still I don’t like the mattress… - If you’re a girl travelling alone, you’d naturally have doubts about the safety walking from the nearest tram station to the hostel, as it was dark and there’re usually not many people in this area.

- Calm area, close to the floral and botanic park, the environnement is really nice - Easy to go to the center by public transport - The staff I talked to was friendly, there is always someone at the reception - Was relatively clean - I was satisfied overall. Would recommend if you wanna visit Köln

- You have to make your bed and remove the sheet at the end of your stay - There is not much provided (I brought my own towel, no hair dryer, nothing except a bed a shower and some hand soap)

The hotel is quite far from Cologne center, but can be easily reached through the 18 light rail. The overall building is really big and full of young people. We were 4 and sadly arrived a bit too late in the evening to know other people, but the atmosphere was very cool. The room was not so big, but functional, with bunk beds, a sink inside the room and a private toilette with a shower separated by a door. In the morning the breakfast was very varied and plentiful. The overall experience has been very good, suggested!
