The hotel is located 10 min away by foot from central train station and Cologne cathedral. You can easily walk to the tourist attractions, there are also a couple of restaurants and a supermarket just across from the hotel, they also have a restaurant which is good, it just does not have a lot of variety. Room was big and clean, bed very comfortable and even though hotel is next to a busy boulevard, the soundproofing is very good, you can sleep very well.

The only thing we missed in our room was a minibar for drinks storage. And I would really avoid walking at night in that area, it’s fine during the day and also evening if it is not that dark, but there are a lot of weird people near the train station.

We came for a 3 night/4 day break from the UK for my daughters 14th birthday. We were on the early flight from London Stanstead) and got to the hotel around 9.30am. The check-in was supposed to be 3pm but the staff were very accommodating and we managed to get a room with very little wait. We were very pleased with the staff and how helpful they were. It was nice to relax and freshen up before heading into the city after the flight, especially in February when the temperature was pretty low during the mornings (mind you it was warmer and sunnier with clear blue skies than the UK - so we did not complain at all). The room was spacious, the bed was a great size for us to share and the room was clean and modern, we were facing a side road but did not bother us in the slightest. The location is great, within walking distance to most attractions and we did not need public transport to get around at all. When you get out of Bonn/Koln airport you buy a train ticket from the ticket machine between 1-2Euros each and put destination (CGN KOLNBONN AIRPORT TO KOLN-ALTSTADT-NORD, DAGOBERTSTRABE 23) you then catch the train S19 (approx 4 stops) less than 30mins. (visa versa - on your return home) then it will be a 10 minute walk to the hotel. The experience was simple enough for us both and we felt safe and area well lit during the early hours we had to travel to the airport. I find it always helpful to put as much as possible to help your fellow traveller) The hotel had a modern, spacious, relaxed restaurant downstairs and we went there on the last night and had the burger (which was huge!! for one) and tomato soup which was delicious. There was no need to book and very convenient for us. All attractions were in the vicinity and we walked around the city in ease, after 2 days were felt confident and knew the area well. We only booked the chocolate museum before we travelled, everything else we paid as we go. 2-3 days more then enough to see Cologne/Koln.

It would have been great to have breakfast included in the room package for the price of the room. However, It did not both us in the slightest and gave us a chance to eat at FunkHaus cafe, Cafe Reichard and Chocolat cafe and got the best pastries at Merzenich as well as the Courtyard restaurant This is all I can think to answer this question!!! All restaurants/cafes highly recommended. I cannot fault the hotel or staff. We had a fabulous short break and glad I did a little short break with my daughter, she loved spending the time with me and seeing Cologne.

A nice room and shower room, kettle in the room, a safe. Quiet location about 15 minutes walk from the train station and Cathedral. A very good supermarket 2 minutes away (but not open on Sunday) and lots of restaurants very nearby. Nice to have juice at reception but no one pointed it out when we arrived.

We felt the staff should be more welcoming and give some eye contact as guests passed. There was no fridge in the room which would have been welcome. As previous reviews have said, the cleaner knocked on our door at 9am to see if he could clean. We hadn’t put out the do not disturb sign, but we did after that and we were left alone.

The location was very good, only a 15 minute walk to the cathedral. We were greeted very warmly on arrival. Our room was excellent, very clean, bed was extremely comfortable, coffee machine, complimentary water, fridge, safe, hairdryer, iron etc. Car park is under the hotel and was excellent, very clean and very well lit with access to the hotel via lift or stairs.

The restaurant was struggling for staff. We ate there twice during our stay. The first night there was only two members of staff trying to work a full and busy dining room. The next evening it wasn’t open due to staffing issues. The following evening we tried again and due to it being less busy was much better. The menu is limited but the food was very good. I think the restaurant is a little hit and miss but staff did their best and the food was more than fine. Our only other criticism was the air conditioning. It needs to be much cooler but you find this is often the case in many hotels.

Staff was very responsive and courteous and attentive !!! Room size was very good !!! Facilities in room was very good !!! Breakfast was excellent and had great variety !!! Commuting within Cologne and travelling outside Cologne facilities available at the main railway station - a 15 minute walk from the hotel !!! Good eating options and supermarkets at the railway station !!!

Everything was clean and the room was comfortable and quiet. The hotel is located walking distance from the city center which is very convenient for visiting the city.

There could be better communication from the hotel on how to use their parking in advance. Also, the facilities were under construction so we couldn't make use of them.

A comfortable hotel with a good location. If you’re traveling to big cities by car, you specifically choose hotels with parking. However, when we arrived, we were told that the parking was full and that they don’t guarantee parking for anyone. Additionally, if you’re traveling with your dog, they charge €50 whether you stay for one day or five days (as someone who frequently travels with a dog, I can say this price is extremely high). Apart from all this, it is undoubtedly a high-quality and nice hotel.

My room was lovely and very good soundproofing. Very comfy mattress. Excellent location with the station and a 24h supermarket nearby.

Some front desk staff were a little curt and there needs to be a range of pillow hardness in each room - at least one soft and one firm. Mine were all so firm I ended up with a sore neck! It was also a little difficult to control the ventilation and some nights I could not turn the fan off at all.

The room was lovely and the bed so comfy. The staff also went the extra mile to make sure our anniversary trip was special. The local restaurants and bars are really handy too, and a little better value for money than in the centre

The shop in reception should be self serve to avoid having to queue for ages to pick up essentials like a bottle of water. No refrigerator in the room is a major issue for me and water should be a given. There should be more staff on duty in reception during busy periods. The queues and durations at which we were forced to wait were far too long.
