The breakfast was excellent, varied, fresh, and delicious. Lots of excellent coffee, fresh pastries, different cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, croissants. One of the best features is that this hotel has a number of inside and outside areas where guests can hang out. The terrace is incredible. You can spend the whole day there, get together with friends, and order freshly prepared and delicious food from morning to night! Location: unmatched! Right across from the Rhine river, next to a chapel from the 15th century! So picturesque! We even had a view of the river from our room!

It was unseasonably warm while we were there so the room was very warm for someone used to air conditioning

Excellent situation by the Rhine

Minor point is there isn’t a lift. So it is stairs to room and stairs to toilet from restaurant and bar.

Things not working in the room like tv, shutting windows, radiator

I stayed a week, had 4 breakfasts. It was good twice, and no-so-good twice. They served it in different dining halls, and quality and richness were unstable.

The room was big, but decrepit. Plain and simple. All was old, and the wi-fi was extremely weak and unstable. The hotel posted a river view, but that was only half accurate. The hallways, and to some extent the room, smelled of cooking (there's a restaurant downstairs). I requested to change rooms, but no one bothered.

the staff tried to make us pay the hotel fee again even though it was paid in advance, they also said we had to pay for breakfast even though we didn’t eat any breakfast

Breakfast was great with good coffee and eggs freshly made for me.

Until midnight, the owner of the hotel and his private guests talked quite loudly on the patio underneath my room - where I had to keep the windows open due to sweltering heat and the lack of air conditioning. It was simply hard to fall asleep.
