Lovely setting, short walk into the town centre. Facilities were nice and the villa set back from the main hotel was quiet. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and diverse.

Heating in our room was defect and performed a valve check every 4 hrs with a loud clicking noise which disrupted sleep. Lots of stairs to get around the different facilities so keep this in mind if stairs are challenging.

This was our second stay at Konsumhotel - last time we stayed in Berghof. Both have been very pleasant experiences, and here are a few reasons why: - Oberhof is a lovely place with wonderful nature and many hiking opportunities - the staff are genuinely friendly and accommodating to all requests you might have - the pool has a great view (the pictures are quite realistic) and the spa is also worth mentioning - the food is great - both in variety and quality - free tea is available in the hallways - there are vending machines with affordable drinks as well - the rooms are quite comfortable and well equipped; - so are the mattresses, and, this is quite important for us - memory-form neck-support pillows are available upon request.

There are very few things to dislike. If ordered at front-desk prices, the half-board can be quite expensive at 60 EUR/person, but better deals are available on booking.com. Compared to the rest of the hotel complex, the gym is relatively modest - though it still surprises nicely with the ability to borrow sport shoes.

The swimming pools and sauna is outside the building as the villas is not attached to the building, you have to walk outside in the parking with your swim wear and if it’s very cold then it’s very uncomfortable. The breakfast is the same every morning not so much variety. Parking ticket is extra cost 14euro for 24 Hours very expensive

Room was not too small. For a longer stay great. Morning swim not used because the pool in a other building. Breakfast we had in a nearby bakery. Nice food and wine in the restaurant.

rooms are clean and staff is friendly apart from the reception. Location is ok. Breakfast is also ok but nothing special like some reviews want you to believe.

reception staff was very unfriendly and barely explained anything. They don't speak English either as their website advertises. Hotel is a Labyrinth and you don't know where anything is. Signs do not help you either and you will find yourself lost a couple of times. We were not the only ones getting lost since many people end up in the sauna area with street clothes on! That should tell you how lost you can get in there. There was no staff present at the wellness area either which makes it more difficult to find your way. Pool was a disaster. I picked this hotel because of the wellness, in hopes of some relaxation time, and what I got was the opposite. We had 6 children playing in the pool and jumping into the pool at all times. No staff was present either to discourage this. Pool was also ditty with lots of hair. If you want to call yourselves a wellness hotel you should not allow children in these areas! Something else I didn't like was the price of so called "extras". After paying 165eur per night you also need to pay €2 city tax per night, €8 for parking and €8 per person for a robe and a towel to access the swimming pool. If you choose to have dinner at the hotel, this will cost you €34 per person for a buffet dinner. We we're not satisfied and therefore we won't be coming back.

The wellness area is nice and the breakfast buffet is really good. Location is nice as well.

Our room was tiny and had only a window under the roof in a height where we could not see anything but the sky. A used toothbrush was in the bathroom and the mattress was super soft, we both suffered from back pain. The complex is huge - the impression of the tiny red blockhouse turns out to be different from what I imagined at first. My bad. I probably expected too much.
