This was my second stay at this truly excellent hotel. Everything is as it should be: the bedroom was large and very comfortable - including, most importantly, the large bed - and had absolutely everything that you need. In fact, the entire hotel has been intelligently thought through in every detail by Jörg, the owner, who, with the ever-helpful Nadine, are very friendly hosts. The hotel is clean, comfortable and attractive - and only a few minutes walk from Rheine railway station. And I must not forget the terrific breakfast! Behind the hotel is the beautiful, old Marktplatz, a very convenient place to eat and drink, as well as admire the thoughtfully preserved historic buildings. So…full marks from this Scotsman who lives in Holland! I’ll be back!

Excellent Location – Convenient and close to everything you need. Clean and Comfortable Room – A well-maintained space that makes your stay pleasant.

Breakfast could be improved – You would have liked more hot food options, such as sausages. Bed sheets were different from what you’re used to – This made it a bit less comfortable. Pillows were too soft – You prefer firmer pillows for better support.

Breakfast was really good. Very clean room. Staff was very friendly. I was staying for one night as I was travelling form UK. Hotel is located close to the train station. Very good value for the money

Everything was really good. The only "but" would be the view from my window, which was a wall located ca 1m from the wall of the hotel. Still, it didn't really impact my stay.

The room was immaculate, spacious and they even accommodated my need for a study space with a desk and reading light etc. Our room was cleaned everyday after permission was given when we were down at breakfast so we were never disturbed. Staff were so friendly and happy to help and accommodate in any way they could. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and the staff remembered our drinks order and brought it to our table on arrival. This will be our third stay and I’m sure we will be back again soon.

Fantastic breakfast, the room we had was large and the bathroom was super clean. Our room looked over the main pedestrian street but was incredibly quiet. Walking distance to everything we needed, the main bus station and the train were only a very short walk from the hotel. Staff were lovely and super helpful.

I would definitely stay here again, we had nothing we didn’t like.

On my 10 day road trip to and from Denmark, across Holland & Germany, this hotel was the best I and my Co-driver had experienced. None of the other hotels provided bath mats, which are essential when one does not wish to fall being >75 years old. Thank you Hotel Freyr.

It was a hot night and no air conditioning but a fan which I ran all night.

Very friendly and helpful owner (he sent what I had left behind in the room back to my home address with no cost involved and even put some sweets in the envelope); the room was spotless; the hotel well situated in the city and it was great value for money as well.

The owner and staff were brilliant, extremely helpful and friendly. The only downside is the parking as the hotel is in a pedestrian area, but parking is just a short walk. If you want a good breakfast this is the place to stay.

The hotel is located very close to the main station and in the historic city centre. All guests having a car park in a parking station at a very convenient price, and everything is conveniently managed by the hotel. The restaurant offers very tasty food for a fair price, the breakfast is also very rich and tasty. Hotel personnel as well as the hotel manager are super nice and friendly. Definitely recommended 👌

Maybe the hotel should think about a better quality of mattresses and improve eventually the darkening curtains. But for sure the quality of sleeping was fine.

The breakfast was excellent. It was just a pity that I was in a hurry to catch a train and couldn't take a little longer over it. Room was quite large, very nice. On arrival I weas asked if I would like to partake of an evening meal. I did, and it was excellent. The hotel was less than 5 minutes walk from Rheine station, excellent.
