The hotel was lovely. Modern, clean, great facilities, amazing restaurant, lovely wines and the best service. We were cycling the Rhine Cycle route with our two children and had complete 109km in 34 degrees heat. The staff were amazing helping us with our bikes (locked securely downstairs) and helping us with our bags to our room. The lady that runs the hotel spent some time taking with us in the evening and even gave us a bag of sweets for my son’s birthday the following day! Could not rate this hotel higher, the service is amazing, food is delicious!

Absolutely nothing!

The hotel is very conveniently located. A shopping center and the Rhine river are each only a few 100 meters away. The very picturesque district of Maximiliansau is only about half a kilometer away and the nature reserve Goldgrund is only about 2 kilometers away. The location is very good for cycling tours along the river Rhine. The hotel has an underground garage. The breakfast is unusually varied and fresh. Everything works and is clean. The staff is very helpful.

In a room on the street side, you can hear street noise with the window open. There is no exciting architecture or high-class cultural events in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

Despite being close to the motorway the room was quiet (perhaps because there was a wall in front of the room window, so no view). The bed was comfortable, and I slept well. Breakfast was fine: decent buffet, hot chocolate was unexpectedly good. Be aware that check in closes at about 22:00 -- I got there in the nick of time. The staff were good about my late arrival.

The area around the hotel did not really look so inviting for going for a walk (but it was cold & late when I arrived)... the river was not far away, so maybe that direction is OK (albeit right next to the autobahn)

Parking underground not so easy(must be even more difficult when it is full) but that's the construction and not the people

The restaurant was shut on a Saturday night, staff helped book a table for us at restaurant neo. The noise between rooms was not good could hear TV beside us and above us.

Clean, comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff which you expect from a family run business. They all appear very proud and professional in their work but still carry it out with a sense of humour. Excellent food both at breakfast and in the evening. Good location with easy access to the Rhein and to Karlsruhe either by car or train.

From our point of view the pillows were too soft and gave little support. This is purely a statement of our preference rather than a criticism. Had we been staying longer we would have requested extra pillows but for one night it was not a problem.

The owner was fantastic- she greeted us warmly, helped with our bags and bicycles and was informative about good restaurants in the local area. The breakfast was exceptional-fresh mango etc.

It is nice enough - stayed here before

Wanted to eat breakfast before my drive back home on a holiday morning . Unfortunately, the restaurant does not open until 07:30. Was not happy. Probably will not stay again.

Very easy access directly off the motorway, the elevated section of which lies directly in front of the hotel. Given this there was no intrusive traffic noise throughout the night to disrupt a good nights' sleep. The hotel staff, who I assumed were the owners, were very pleasant and spoke excellent English. The restaurant was frequented by other guests and locals and the meals well presented and good value. Similarly there was an extensive breakfast buffet.

Struggling to post anything here. As I'm a vegetarian I could always do with having more menu choices - but I could say that almost everywhere - so is not a specific critism of the Vater Rhein.

The entire hotel was clean. From the parking to the lobby to the room. Breakfast was very impressive for the price. All employees were very attentive and willing to assist in any way. Free parking, also impressive. Warm water at all times and the room was also nice warm. We were very happy with the entire experience.
