Oh, this is such an amazing place! I really loved the old decor of the room, the bathtub, and the cleanliness. The bed was very comfortable. The location is good, very close to the city.

I need to deduct one star for the parking situation. There's parking right in front of the hotel, which is prohibited for non-residents. There's a parking spot across the street, which is only free from 10pm to 8am, otherwise a whopping 4€ per hour. The suggested hotel option is a dilapidated underground parking lot for 9€ per day (or 1.50€ per hour). If I arrived with a tall car or a roofbox (which I didn't carry this time), I would be afraid to enter this area, as there is no height information but many tunnels with a narrow and low exit gate.

The hotel and room had a lot of character, and the décor leaned heavily into the Victorian-era ambience. Reception was very helpful and handled everything in English as I do not speak German. The location is great, close to the center of town but far enough to not be noisy.

The room was fairly cramped and basic; this wasn't a problem for me but may be noted by other travelers. Finding the connected restaurant/bierhaus was quite challenging the first time.

I just spent a short night there, so didn't have breakfast (looked good,!) and didn't sleep long. So I didn't really mind the noise coming from the street directly under my window. I think otherwise that would have been a bit annoying I think for a longer stay a waterkettle in the room or a little fridge would be convenient

The room was ok, I like the design of the hotel. A complementary sparkling water was provided. A cup of champagne was provided at the bar, and also a voucher for breakfast, even though I did not use neither of these. The location was ok I guess, near the Europa Platz.

There were some weird insects in the bathroom, the facilities were a bit old. Also the design of the hotel is interesting, but I could imagine it is not super easy for older people and people with big luggage.

This is just an absolutely charming hotel to stay at. Its unmistakably stylish and quirky design paired with excellent service is a wonderful combination for everyone looking to visit Karlsruhe. The rooms are very clean, tidy and comfy, plus there is a brewery on site which guests receive special coupons for. Asides the overall atmosphere being lovely inside the hotel and brewery; the location is lovely, quiet and convenient, being only a five minute walk away from the central city area. We loved everything and will definitely be coming back.

The location was excellent, in the centre of Karlsruhe and near the castle/Schloss. Breakfast was very good; and our room was quiet (as we requested). The hotel restaurant was good, with excellent beer.

There was a sloping structural beam in our room from floor to ceiling which made the left side of the room difficult to use, and we had to push both beds to the right. Also, to get to Reception you had to go outside (and it was cold and wet out there!)

The hotel is beautiful with an antique style. It has a historical energy and you feel it when in there. The room was big enough for one person, it had a beautiful view on the garden. A big plus for the breakfast, many options including a vegan one. The stuff was nice and friendly ( especially the breakfast stuff)

I really liked the value for money. As some former customers pointed out in their reviews, the room and toilet interior is a bit vintage but has its charm. Also, I liked TV programs offered, for example, there was a channel which broadcasted some documentary films on German life in 70s and 80s.

I have nothing in particular to complain about. Maybe to mention that the trash from the bins wasn't cleaned every day, but that's the policy of the hotel - perhaps.

Big rooms, excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. A perfect location and place to stay the night while traveling by car (which we did).

Rooms are numbered in some non-obvious way, so finding our rooms was a bit tricky at first. Also, in one of the rooms that we booked, the wall separating the bathroom was made of glass and entirely transparent, without any curtains.

Breakfast was really good, it had everything. Decent selection of vegan options (I'm not vegan but might be useful info for someone). The single room was nice, clean, comfortable. Staff was friendly, speaking English was fine. I would stay here again!

Gets quite hot in the room, was fine for my stay when it was 27-28 degrees outside, but hotter than that and it might be quite uncomfortable. Probably good to bring ear plugs of you're noise sensitive, it's a lively area (not like rowdy or anything, it didn't bother me, just might be good to know).
