The hotel has an excellent location – right in front of the beach with shops nearby, and it’s very convenient to call a taxi as it is on the main road. A marina port is also within a short distance. The reception staff, especially Christina, was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and the hotel also offers a rooftop pool and a restaurant. However, the rooms are quite small and noisy when you open the door. Cleaning could be improved – sometimes there was an unpleasant smell, possibly from using old cloths. Important note: If you are traveling with a 7-year-old child, I highly recommend booking a triple room. We had some inconvenience as we were given a double room with an extra bed, which caused unnecessary stress for the first couple of days. Overall, it’s a good hotel with a great location and nice facilities, but rooms are small and cleanliness could be better.

:Breakfast had good selection and nice omelette station - good start into the day :) Tram nr. 6 stops across the road and drives direct to a station close to Acropolis and Plaka. Takes around 30 min. Airport bus nr. X96 stops in front of the hotel. Perfect place to stay in Athens if you want to have relaxing time but easy access to the city center.

The location was good and the Tram into Piraeus which is where we needed was good! Comfy beds and pillows. Quiet 5th floor room! Breakfast excellent! Staff all very kind and helpful. Nice pool with great cocktails and snacks . Beach restaurant was very good with a beautiful sunset view.

The hotel has a beach area opposite but there is a very rude foreign guy without the usual Greek filoxenia who manages sunbeds and towels!!!! He needs to go! And you have to pay for sunbeds even as a hotel guest!! We booked hotel last minute and it was extremely expensive as it was their only room left!

The property was amazing! The view was stunning. We would have preferred our rooms being closer together but it was okay. Room 311 a/c didn’t cool so well but other than that everything was great!! Location was perfect for getting around too! The staff at the bar were all amazing!! The young lady and young man working the bar on 7/28 & 7/30 were the best! Top tier so I tipped very well! Also you guys have the best breakfast in town. The other hotels breakfast was terrible! We will be back!

There was one staff at night (7/31) about 4am that was not very hospitable! He was wanting me to check out of the room but I was paying for 3. Two of my children were leaving and he wanted to check them out immediately to free up the room and I was not wanting to until I could go check the rooms. He was like “look lady…” I didn’t appreciate his tone and his approach. My kids were about to leave for the airport without us and I was worried about them not freeing up a room in paying for. The other staff were not that way when we checked out at all.

The hotel is in a great location, literally a street separates it from the beach and all transport routes, you can get anywhere in an instant! There is a lot of noise from the cars and there is a lot of traffic, but no sound enters the room when the terrace door is closed. The rooms are clean and have everything you need to enjoy yourself, the view of the sea is phenomenal from the room but also from the top of the hotel with a phenomenal bar. The breakfast is varied but the food is honestly not very tasty, my suggestion is to have breakfast in the surrounding bakeries, the selection of pastries is truly phenomenal and the bakeries are located about 500 meters away. The restaurant on the 7th floor is very nice with very tasty food from the menu, the staff is very kind and helpful, the highest praise for them!

- Good location for both getting to central Athens, and to islands; shops, cafés and restaurants also closeby - Very helpful and kind staff, both at the reception and in the restaurants - Breakfast with many options - Amazing sea view from the balcony - Hotel's restaurant on the second to last floor had great food and drinks, cozy atmosphere and beautiful views - Big closet to store clothes and personal belongings - Many other optional services that the hotel offers and can be asked for for free or for an additional cost (beach towels, transfer, wake-up call, boat tours, laundry, ironing, breakfast in a box, etc.)

- We found the bathroom just a bit small for our comfort, but nevertheless it did just fine for 6 days - it was also cleaned nicely, so was the entire room

Lovely hotel, nice room and staff. Upstairs from the pool area there is a nice place to sunbathe, read and take in the view of the sea. Plenty of choice at breakfast, really delicious. Complementary wine and water in the room along with mini jars of honey which was a nice touch. Tram station opposite the hotel which is cheap and easy to use, stay on until the last stop (about 35-40min) to get to the parliament building, botanical garden and easy walk into plaka. Get off few stops before that for a 10 min walk to acropolis entrance. Nice cafe and beach area belonging to the hotel across the road. Sunloungers come with a towel at half price for hotel guests if show your key card €7.50each oct 24. The sunsets over the mountains across the sea from here which was nice to watch.

The pool area is quite tight for space, a balancing act between the edge of the pool and the sunloungers. Pool was also too cold to go in (end.oct) the sea was much warmer. Although this is a beach hotel it has more of a city feel due to the location, to get to the beach there is a crossing point and you need to get across 6 lanes of traffic and 2 tram lines to get to the beach side of the road. The road is really quite noisy too. The balcony view we had was absolutely awful, close proximity to multiple other buildings from all sides only room for one chair not that you would want to sit out there.

Pleasant swimming pool On-site restaurant with a beach bar right across the street (safe crossing directly in front of the hotel) Discount at the beach bar for hotel guests Nice beach just steps away Relatively close to the city center — great balance between beach and city Excellent breakfast with a wide selection of local foods and the unique experience of making your own Greek coffee Rooms were clean and quiet Ideal for those who want to enjoy both the beach and the city

The street in front of the hotel is busy — we recommend asking for a room at the back for more peace and quiet. Not luxurious (though that wasn’t a problem for us)

March 2025

The hotel has several points very strongly in its favour: it can be reached by bus from the airport (the X96) and there is a tramline opposite the hotel to get to the city centre of Athens. There are lovely views out across the bay from the rooms and the sunset view from the restaurant on the 7th floor is especially spectacular. The breakfast selection is good, as is the menu choice at the rooftop restaurant for evening meals. Opposite the hotel is a beachside restaurant and a bar. You can swim from the beach opposite the hotel (or watch others in the early morning sun!). All the staff are courteous and helpful.

There are only 2 downsides: the noise of the busy road outside and the heating/cooling. The double glazed rooms block the noise but you then have to keep the window closed. And our room was very warm in the afternoon sun – and in March the air-conditioning doesn’t work in the rooms, only heating. March is considered ‘winter’ and so you shouldn’t need air-conditioning! I understand that spring and autumn are difficult seasons as sometimes you need heating (it was quite cold at times, even when the sun was shining) but when the sun is shining through a glass window it can also be very hot.

We chose POSEIDON ATHENS HOTEL to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. Not only was it our first time staying at the hotel, but it was also my very first visit to Greece—and what a stunning introduction it was! A heartfelt thank you to Maria, the Front Office & Revenue Manager, and the entire front desk and kitchen team. Their warmth, professionalism, and thoughtful attention to detail made our celebration feel incredibly special. Thank you once again— and looking forward to our next visit! 🎉🇬🇷
