We stayed on 2 nights on the way to another long flight and on the way back. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We did not have breakfast due to early flights. Lunch was very good and not expensive. The hotel is only 10 minutes by taxi from the Acropolis and the city center and next to a nice park with culture center and city view from a top building (free access) so you can stroll the area by foot if you like.

We came to the hotel around noon after a long flight and had to wait for the room until 3PM. We literally fell asleep on the couch in the lobby. But that happens when the hotel is full. We understood.

My stay was exceptional, starting with the very friendly front desk staff who upgraded me to a junior suite at no extra cost. The suite was spacious, featuring a walk-in closet, a large bathroom with a luxurious walk-in shower, and a comfortable bed with high-quality pillows and a mattress. The room had a stunning view of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, which looked magical at night with all the Christmas lights. Room service was prompt, friendly, and offered generous portions with everything I needed, even though it was a bit pricey. The soundproof windows ensured complete silence despite the busy Syngrou Avenue outside, and the entire room was spotless and tidy. A thoughtful touch was being provided with an umbrella for a rainy day, even after I had checked out.

While the stay was excellent overall, a few small inconveniences stood out. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, which would have been a significant advantage. Additionally, while there’s a shuttle service to and from Syntagma Square, the timetable wasn’t available online, and I had to call the front desk for details. Lastly, the lack of nearby metro or tram lines means relying on taxis to get around, which can be less convenient for some guests.

The hotel was super clean and in a quite neighborhood. The staff were friendly and allowed a late checkout .

The hotel is far from the city center but they offer a free shuttle (that unfortunately smells so bad) . The public bathroom was a mess and i needed to go upstairs to my room anytime i needed to use the bathroom. The hotel charged for plastic bottled water , which was my first time ever to face this in Marriott, not to say that in other countries like Qatar , i used to be offered as much water , and a welcoming basket of fruits and so .

It was clean and comfortable. I stayed here because I was having surgery next door at Rea. It was a 2 minute walk from the hospital. Close for the pre op tests and recovery afterwards. Nice park for coffee over the road. Shuttle bus into the center of the city is convenient. I would stay here again. The breakfast was good, I could only eat it on one of the days we were there (I wasn’t allowed to eat before the tests and surgery) but my husband enjoyed it. The staff were also very pleasant. The housekeeping staff especially were very nice, asking if we were ok and if we needed anything.

Nothing. Everything was fine.

I had a pleasant stay at the Marriott. While the location is a bit far from Syntagma Square, the hotel provides a weekday shuttle service that runs hourly until 5:00 PM, making it easy to reach the square. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently close to Piraeus and the beaches, with a hop-on-hop-off bus available right in front of the hotel. Public transportation, primarily buses, also offers easy access to various destinations. The room was exceptionally clean, and the staff was incredibly helpful. The breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious options.

If you want to be in the center of Athens, this is not the place for you.

Breakfast was great but very crowded

The lobby was packed with at least two or three events/ conventions competing for space and it was too busy.

I tried many hotels while I was in Athens and Mariott is the best of the best! Nice welcoming lobby, nice staff super friendly and great service! different F&B options, the gym as well great equipment well the best so far and also 24H open! Mariott really know what they are doing, should have come here earlier! The rooms also very comfy proper sizing and comfy! When I'm back in Athens Mariott will be my first choice right away. Forgot to mention the Japanese restaurant which is on the rooftop... delicious and best thing is they deliver to the room! Pick Chicken Satay with Fried Rice you won't be disappointed.

Nothing everything was amazing!

The location was just outside the center city of Athens, but they provide a round trip shuttle to take guests to town & back at no cost. They had a full bar & restaurant just off the lobby & a lovely rood top restaurant with beautiful scenes all around the area. We would definitely stay there again.

We were very tired after our flight from Boston & unfortunately couldn’t stay awake to try the roof top restaurant & bar that didn’t open till 6:30.

Hotel looks and feels new, renovated.

Upon arrival we had an issue with our reservation having breakfast included in the price. The hotel didn't want to honor it. I even had to show my confirmation, and despite doing so the reception staff said the would ask. Two days later - at breakfast - they insisted it was not included, and we again had to complain. At this point we were very afraid we would be billed over 100€ for breakfasts eaten at the hotel. Luckily though, at checkout it wasn't billed. But we were left with the sour experience of the hotel unwillingness to accept our reservation terms (and blaming booking.com for the mistake) and their insistence throughout most of our stay.

The only real complaint I have is there was no ice provided and none accessible on the floors. We asked the customer service agent and she told us she would send some up right away. We never received it and when i attempted to call there was a busy signal. Also thought the food on the restaurant for dinner was less than great. Breakfast however was nice and quite a variety of choices.
