Location and cleanliness. The resort is very new (just opened last month). The staff were amazing & welcoming all the time. Special thanks to Danai, the Concierge Supervisor, who was very nice and helpful. She made our stay unforgettable from the first moment until we checked out.

Accessibility to the beach wasn’t from inside the property, you had to cross the street to go the beach. For us, this wasn’t clear on the website description

Sunbed reservation system was quite frustrating. People would wake up early to put their towels on sunbeds (multiple of them even) and then they would disappear for most of the day. The result was that at any given moment more than half of the sunbeds were empty but still "reserved". Surely a better system can be invented in such an amazing hotel.

The hotel is in a great location, within a very short walking distance to the centre of Agios Nikolaos. The hotel facilities provide everything you could possibly need and everywhere is completely spotless! The pools in particular are of a good size with amazing views out to sea. The staff are very friendly and can't help enough. It was my boyfriend's birthday while we were staying at the hotel, and room service delivered a bottle of Prosecco and a cake as a gift, which was incredibly thoughtful and a lovely surprise for my boyfriend. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

My one and only comment would be the price of the food. It was so expensive that we only ate in the hotel once. It would also be good to have a cheaper, more casual menu available throughout the day for pool side snacks.

Our recent stay at the InterContinental Crete was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a stunning sea view room, which set the tone for a truly memorable getaway. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and genuinely eager to assist with anything we needed. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome and well cared for throughout our stay. The hotel itself is modern, luxurious, and recently built, with elegant design touches that create a serene and upscale atmosphere. Everything from the lobby to the rooms exudes comfort and sophistication. We were especially impressed by the abundant and delicious breakfast, offering a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options each morning. It was the perfect way to start the day. One of the highlights of our stay was relaxing on the sunbeds by the infinity pools on the 5th and 9th floors. The pools offer breathtaking views over the Aegean Sea and a calm, peaceful ambiance that's ideal for unwinding. To top it all off, the hotel kindly accommodated our request for a late checkout, allowing us to enjoy just a bit more time in this beautiful setting. Overall, our experience at the InterContinental Crete was exceptional. Whether you're looking for relaxation, luxury, or top-tier service, this hotel truly delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!

Very good outdoor pool and water temperature. The staff is good, but especially the fantastic young man named Manolis. The rating increased significantly just because of him. :)

I didn’t understand why there are no towels by the outdoor pool — you have to bring them from the room, and then it’s unclear where to leave them afterward. There’s no place to change, although there are showers and toilets. Breakfast is rather weak for the hotel’s category (just an evaluation). All in all, the price-to-quality ratio was not in my favor. Very strange architectural decisions — for example, windows or openings facing the sea. The ‘small pools’ or ‘aquariums’ on the balcony are completely non-functional. Clearly, a lot of capital was invested in the hotel, but…

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with valet parking – which, to our surprise, was completely free of charge. At most 5-star hotels, this service usually comes with a daily fee, so it was a very refreshing start. The staff were always ready to park our car, and whenever we needed it, we simply called 30 minutes in advance, and it was brought right to us. That level of service was really impressive and set a high standard right away. As we entered the hotel, we were greeted by a gentleman named Victor at reception. First impressions always matter, and Victor truly made ours a great one. He was friendly, informative, and answered all our questions with a smile. To top it off, he surprised us with an upgrade to a room with a city view – such a thoughtful gesture that made our arrival even more special. Although we checked in late, our first day was nothing short of amazing. Throughout our stay, the entire team remained incredibly helpful, always present and ready to assist. The food was consistently fresh and delicious, and we’d like to give a special mention to Kostas from the restaurant. He was always friendly, attentive, and even recognized us outside the hotel, which made us feel truly welcome and valued. We were also traveling with a small dog, and this made us feel even more welcomed. The staff were always happy to accommodate our needs, and there were absolutely no issues with bringing our dog into all areas of the hotel – including the restaurants. That was a very pleasant surprise, as many hotels only allow pets on the terrace. We were overall very happy with our experience. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable – we’ll definitely be back!

A couple of minor downsides: The toiletries were not always replenished on time in the room, and while the courtesy room option for late check-out was appreciated, it wasn’t very clean. Still, we value the fact that the service was available and see it as a helpful offering. Thank you Xenia and Anastasia ( i hope remembered name correctly )

Excellent location, and facilities. Plunge pool in the room was a wonderful treat. The pool area was great. Amazing staff in the spa. Very kind staff. Extremely clean and well maintained. Some thoughtful touches eg turn down service.

We thought the whole experience was excellent. But we were disappointed that it wasn’t more clear we’d booked a room only rate without breakfast included. Breakfast was €80 for 2 adults and a child- this was more expensive than three of us eating lunch from the a la carte menu. We felt this was too expensive for a buffet breakfast. We felt Booking.com hadn’t made it clear enough during the booking process that it was a room-only rate. And felt that the breakfast was poor value for money as an add-on. Apart from this we had an excellent stay.

comfortable room, large and well designed. Great bathroom layout. huge bed and cute plunge pool. breakfast buffet was excellent and staff attentive and friendly. pool was great with a fabulous view and always able to get a sunbed. despite the hotel being on a main road, you wouldn't know it up at the pool where it was always peaceful and chilled. similarly though the hotel had many guests there was no noise in the room at all. also super peaceful and chilled. location is great. just on the edge of the part of town with loads of places to eat and grab a drink but not noisy at all. highly recommend a stay here.

the website is a bit misleading as I had though on booking that this was a beach hotel that was actually on the beach. also assumed there was parking. I almost cancelled the booking when I saw that the hotel was on a road and that the beach was a small inlet across the road and to the left of the hotel and that parking was 1.5k away. a bit of digging and reading reviews revealed that the parking was valet parking and so that was fine. I just hadn't enjoyed the thought of having to find the parking and drag the cases to the hotel after the flight! as there were plenty of sandy beaches near by and the pools were so lovely, the beach part was not an issue. also the town is pretty and has so many places to eat and drink and so the location turned out to be perfect!! glad I didn't cancel.

We loved everything!!! Especially the comfortable bed, clean room, the breakfast was amazing!! The view from the room and the pools was stunning!! The team was nice and friendly!! Amazing hotel. The beach below the hotel was nice. The spa and the gym were nice. Definitely will return. The treatment of massage by Maria was amazing, the best I had.

The dinner in the Michelin restaurant was bad. Not tasty and at high cost. Not recommended. Very disappointing.
