Clean modernised hotel with lift. Easy check-in. Our room was an apartment with a magnificent sea view. Woke early to see the sunrise it was absolutely stunning. Comfortable armchair in the kitchen dining area. Good assortment of utilities to cook, including a microwave, fridge, and kettle. Unfortunately, there is no washing up liquid provided. Iron and ironing board provided. Bathroom not as modern but with full bath and over shower, towels, and shampoo/shower gel provided. Bed extremely comfortable. The view is absolutely outstanding in a gorgeous little town.

If parking in the free port parking, there is a steep 50 metre hill to climb. If you have mobility issues, I would suggest being dropped off at the hotel door. However, when you go out, there is no way of not having to use the steps or hill to get down to the town.

This was my second time staying at the Creta, the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are well equipped and large, I had a small balcony with a good view of the sea. The bus station is a 20 minute walk away or a €6 taxi fare. The location is excellent as long as you don't mind steps. The lake and the main shopping area are a 5-10 minutes walk. In the other direction there is a beach with coffee bars and restaurants. It is a quiet hotel and I slept well.

It was very centrally located close to the Kitroplateia beach and not far away in walking distance to the center. The room was basic with a reasonably sized bathroom and even a bathtub. The A/C worked well and the balcony even though small can be used to sit but we mostly used it to dry our beach stuff. Has a lift to the upper floors. Good value for money, it was by far the cheapest accommodation we found and even though it was basic we weren’t spending much time in the room anyway so it suited our needs. Plus the staff is very friendly and helpful!

Some things to consider: - the hotel is on a hill and you always need to climb stairs to get there - getting there by car was a bit of an adventure as a lot of streets are one-way and too tight to fit a medium sized car in - the walls are thin, if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs

Communication with the host was excellent, smooth check-in in early morning hours (we arrived at 3.30 am), hospitality and friendliness of all hotel staff, useful tips from the owner for what to do and see/where to eat in and around Agios Nikolaos. Sense of humour. The gorgeous and huge terrace with a magnificent sea view, spotless cleanliness of the room and bed covers, vicinity of excellent restaurants.

A sun umbrella on the terrace was missing for perfect coffee sipping in the morning.

The panoramic view of the sea and the islands, the cleanliness of our apartment, the position right in the center but still in a quiet place. Free port parking is just above the hotel, easy to reach and I was able to see the car from our balcony.

I would've preferred the shower instead of the bath tube with curtains but was not a big deal.

The location was incredible, a few meters to a small shop, 150 meters to a small beach and about the same to the center of town. Room clean, nice view, small kitchen. I want to come back for a longer stay in this beautiful city.

I had an end room and the internet was a little slow in the bedroom, ok in the kitchen area. There is an elevator but I'm fine with using the stairs even at 73, so I enjoy the exercise. Really loved the place and the town, certainly my favorite city on Crete.

The staff were really friendly. The room was large and the beds were very comfortable.

The only complaint I have is that the curtains were too thin, so we woke up every morning at 4:30 because of the light and then felt very tired the rest of the day.

Staff were friendly, helpful, and had good English. It was good to have a balcony which got the early morning sun - vety nice to eat breakfast. There was a large kitchen space with a dining table - not that I used the cooking facilities. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were comfy. The location was convenient, especially after I found the various steps. I really enjoyed having sea views.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The apartment was very spacious. The views from our room were second to none.

It wasn’t the properties fault. But to attain the beautiful views the hotel has a high position (to be fair as do a lot of the properties in Agios Nikolaos due to its layout) but this meant an option of really steep inclines or between 40-60 steps depending which route you took to and from the property which I personally found difficult in the hot temperatures.
