A beautiful old house set in its own grounds swimming pool lots of character doors, wooden floors grand staircase very Italian Brexit breakfast was delicious mostly home-made and helpful and cheerful location set back from the madness of the harbour .
The whole property needed a good clean the beds were clean but very uncomfortable. The shower room was grubby. The sink didn’t drain and the shower head had no working bracket to hold it. Dust had been lying on the staircase for months you could write your name in. The carpets are dirty and the Pool. had lots of leaves flowers and dead insects floating on the top.

This is a very beautiful and special place, full of historic charm. Rooms have high ceilings and large windows. Ours had no balcony but there are beautiful outdoor spaces everywhere to discover. On Sunday morning we sat by the pool under the bougainvillea eating homemade cakes for breakfast, with the sound of Orthodox priests chanting in the church just above us on the mountain - unforgettable. If you arrive by boat and have luggage it's worth getting a taxi up from the harbour - easy to walk back down though, when you know the route. Parking and driving around the hotel is tricky but the lovely owners will give good advice.

The breakfast was great. Cheese pie, banana bread, croissants, yogurt, fruit, eggs, coffee, juices. The pool is fabulous! My room was great except for the last night when I had to get up very early to catch a ferry, and the kids in the room next door made a lot of noise and moved furniture around. Otherwise, my room was quiet and got the afternoon sun. I like the location, near the archeological museum and Italian trail. The hosts were great and helpful with lots of information and good English.
I asked for a quiet room and it was perfect except for the kids the last night, and people speaking loudly around the pool late at night.

The Villa Melina is a beautiful villa surrounded by a very attractive garden. Our large room -- with large windows, a high ceiling, and handsome wood furniture -- was very comfortable. Not only was the bed comfortable but the bathroom was large and there was a mini-refrigerator, a hot water heater and plenty of place for our things. Our room was in excellent condition and very clean. The WiFi/Internet connection was very good. We liked the location: just far enough above the harbor to be quiet and provide a view of the sea. The pool is set among attractive plants and trees, and the terraces provide tables and chairs for breakfast or for relaxing. The buffet breakfast featured each morning a variety of freshly baked cakes and pastry as well as several breakfast staples. My wife and I were particularly pleased by the friendly style of Villa Melina and the very helpful tips provided. We particularly benefitted from suggestions about how and what to see in Kalymnos, about restaurants in Potia, and about car rental.
One very minor thing: we would have welcomed a shower curtain.

Such a pretty hotel, beautiful pool, gorgeous views of the hills and church, delicious breakfast with the best carrot cake I’ve had, and most importantly, a friendly and accommodating owner who made us feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious with useful cooking facilities and a charming little balcony and terrace. We walked through narrow and charming laws to get to the hotel - it was a 10-15 min walk from the port. The surrounding area was quiet but an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The bus stop was 5 min walk away to take you to other parts of the island. The general vibe was quiet, private but friendly.
There was nothing I didn’t like.

The main building is an old sort of Manor House built back in the day by someone who had made plenty money. What we saw of the inside it was lavish. We stayed in one of the room that I guess were built later than the house round the back. The room was good with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The pool was a great bonus. Breakfast was truly amazing fresh bread cakes pastries etc with sufficient choice for everyone which you could eat outside on the front or side or in your room. It was being constantly replenished. It is a ten minute stroll down to the harbour and situated in a quiet area of the town. Not sure if a group of musicians were staying at the propert but one night we had a violin accompanied by a guitarist and a singer. Obviously this was probably a one off but it was delightful
Nothing ticked all the boxes for me.

We stayed in room number 1, on the top floor, with a huge balcony and a fabulous view of the whole area, from the sea to the hills. Room very comfortable. Breakfast pastries and cakes were home made and delicious. Less than 10 mins walk to the centre.
Sometimes not enough sunbeds around the pool

An imposing property. Spacious apartment (we were upgraded). We were greeted by George and he is absolutely charming, a lovely guy. He makes very good cakes and pies for breakfast. He ensured we were well looked after. All the family are friendly. Lovely grounds and big pool.
With some general refurbishments the property has potential to be outstanding. There was no mattress protector, just a sheet straight onto the mattress.

Fantastic ambience with some old world charm. Our studio was poolside and felt very personal and private with own terrace, table and chairs. Outside areas very pretty, full of colourful flowers. A real hidden find. Beds super comfy with free air con, full size fridge and cooking facilities should you require. Friendly, helpful staff and tasty varied breakfast taken outside on the terrace.
Even though the rooms have clearly gone through some recent renovation some rusty existing fittings remained. A small detail but perhaps could have been replaced also.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Melina. It‘s a little sanctuary and opens your heart and imagination. Wonderful room, romantic villa, excellent pool, yummy breakfast with homemade cake and cheesepie, all set in quiet area of Pothia; close to harbor and nice bars and restaurants. Plus very nice hosts. Will definitely come back to this gem!
Don‘t go, so we will find a room for our next visit ;-). No, nothing to complain.
