We added half board to our stay and were pleasantly surprised with the selection at breakfast. We were also pleased that the hotel allowed us to switch evening meals to lunch time at poolside bar. This allowed us to discover all the wonderful tavernas surrounding the villages. The staff were brilliant. Hard working and all very polite. The areas were kept spotless and our room was very clean too. Our only observation was the room we had is ready for an upgrade. On our last day we paid extra to keep the room on as we had a late flight. They needed the room we’d been using so offered us a superior room for the rest of the day- this room was definitely an upgrade. I hope they continue to upgrade all rooms. The location of the hotel was perfect. 20 min walk to Hersonissos port area and 20 min walk to old Hersonissos.

Pool feels slightly small when hotel is busy. Despite inflatables clearly banned, we did see several children with really big inflatables that took up lots of room.

We loved everything about this hotel! The staff were so friendly and helpful, facilities were amazing including the beautiful pool area with gorgeous high quality sun beds and relaxing area, the food was really lovely and authentically Greek, hotel rooms were beautiful and the setting was perfect with views right across Hersonisos (we stayed in room 26).It was also immaculately clean! The best hotel we've ever stayed in Greece in the most beautiful villages, and as someone who is half Greek this speaks volume! We are so sad we didn't stay longer and will definitely be back for sure. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!

Nothing...it was perfect

The pool area and bar were excellent. Staff were very considerate, professional and helpful. Breakfast was of a good standard and we had a very nice meal in the restaurant. The maid service was very good also, with a visit every day.

We stayed in a maisonette, the upstairs bedroom was nice enough with a good comfy bed and adequate air conditioning but I found the downstairs living area small, awkward and very basically equipped. There are quite a number of steps from the roadside entrance to the reception , pool area and many of the apartments. We are fairly fit for this challenge bit could be a problem for many.

It was nice and quiet , good location

The apartment was quite old fashioned and in need of modernisation , no door on Shower so floor was saturated every night making the floor slippy and dangerous , also seemed like pool maintenance was not 100% when walking in pool the floor tiles in pool seemed to have algae on them and quite a few people list their footing , if these things were sorted out I wouldn’t be able to fault hotel

Allround very good: helpfull staff, good breakfast, nice towns closeby.

Hotel has a policy (they have a sign) to not allow reserving of sunbeds at the pool, however they do not enforce it. Very annoying when people reserve sunbeds early in the morning and only show up at 17:00, whilst you can't get any shade or seat at the pool. Sometimes about half of the sunbeds were reserved by people that were not there. We asked if we can (re)move the towels, but the hotel staff refused. So they won't do anything abour it and won't allows us to do anything. Also, the pool water is murky/unclear. Not the worst I have seen on crete, but i've definitely seen much better.

Booked a superior room, these are the renovated ones, lovely and modern, very comfortable and nice and spacious with lovely sea views. Seperate walk in shower . The room had coffee making facilities & fridge. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Great location. Lovely pool area. Breakfast was nice. I would definitely recommend.

A lot of steps (as with a lot of properties in the traditional vilkages) so not really suitable for those less mobile, not an issue for us but something to bare in mind.

Asterias Village is perfectly located and within walking distance of two other towns in the area. We loved having access to a Spar Express (mini market) and ATM directly opposite our accommodation. The staff were friendly and very helpful and it was overall a lovely experience.

Half board includes dinner at Oliva, the hotel's restaurant, where, apart from warm bread and the soup of the day, we were also entitled to a four-course meal of our choice, selecting (each of us) a starter dish, a salad, a main course, and a dessert. Our deluxe room was large, nicely-decorated and furnished, and had a very nice view towards the north. The cobbled area around the swimming pool is quite relaxing, with sunbeds, a jacuzzi adjacent to the pool, and a chapel.

Staff was friendly and food was good. Amazing view from balcony or swimming pool.

First night we got a room that needed a lot of work but next morning we were moved to a very nice one.

Balcony lacks privacy. A partial trellis would offer scope to interact with neighbours as and when you wish.
