We had an amazing stay at Iphigenia, the couple is really nice. We got a warm welcome and they are willing to help you with everything (renting cars, booking excursions, taxi’s and so on). The garden is amazing, really nice place to get some rest and it’s close to the strip (bars and restaurants). They also offer great food at Iphigenia, Marianne and Christos are great cooks and the food is offered for a really good price. I have some severe food allergies but they were extremely careful. We will definitely come back.

The bathroom is a bit small, but we knew that before booking. Besides we have nothing else we didn’t like. The property is nice and clean :)!

The owners are kind, friendly and very helpful. Excellent food with many options for vegetarians. Garden around the appartment is beautiful. The location is great - not in the centre, so noise is not an issue, but it takes just 10 minut walk and you can be on the beach or near the city centre.

MaryAnna and Xristos were the perfect hosts for this lovely small resort near Chersonissos. We were able to relax, road trip to local sites, and enjoy the best Cretan cooking. We’ll be back soon.

Our holiday in Crete was truly memorable, made all the more special by the wonderful hospitality of Christos and Marieanna. From our first encounter we were met by warmth and kindness, they are both exceptional hosts and went above and beyond in making our stay perfect! The food was absolutely delicious 😋, Christos is an exceptional cook, my husband especially loved his homemade moussaka and Christos even shared with him how he makes it, that personal touch made every meal that much more special, also the menu had a varied selection and very reasonably priced. The apartment was spotlessly clean, bed and pillows super comfy! The grounds, dining area,bar and pool all very well maintained, always kept clean and pleasing to the eye. Plenty of sun beds as well as luxurious beds scattered around the grassed area. A very tranquil and relaxing environment but not to far to walk to the more bustling strip and beaches. No request was ever to much, they were always happy to help. They both work exceptionally hard to make their business succeed and it shows in every aspect of the experience, they always had time to stop and chat with us and we were treated more like family. Christos, Marieanna and Coconut ( the family dog) have created something genuinely special and deserve every success!! We look forward to seeing you all next year!

Nothing not to like

Great experience. Amazing hosts, so welcoming and willing to please and make you enjoy and feel at home. Very nice pool, nice sun beds, great bar available all day, great kitchen, they are always there, advising, talking, laughing. Really nice guests, great talks into the night over beer / cocktails. Rooms are simple but very comfort and clean. Walking distance to close beaches and the "strip" of the town with restaurants and bars, but the place itself is quiet and relaxing.

+ the hosts are very welcoming and helpful + the apartments are new, clean and very cozy + apartments are located in their own closed green territory - there is a swimming pool between apartments and bar, around many places to have a rest - big beds with baldachins, places for picknik, places for sitting, having sun etc. Very, very comfortable for kids - as they can play around + good breakfast + right across the road, there is a Lidl food supermarket + in general very good atmosphere, with everything in place and a lot of space - if you are tired of travelling to far beaches of island, perfect to stay even whole day in apartment territory only :) + easy to go by foot or by car to the nearest beach and promenade

- we had an issue with our room (previous visitors smoked in room), but we changed the room to even better with no problem

We couldn't have stayed in a better place then this. The owners run it with passion and both work very hard, but will always find time for a chat and some personal attention. They will make you feel at home. Thanks Marianna and Christos for making our stay perfect!

Apartments are set in a nice garden and pool area. Fantastic hostess. Relaxing place far away from Hersonissos chaos. Breakfast included. You can eat in the garden as hosts are great cooks and prepare meals for their guests.

Small bathroom as everywhere else in Crete. Kitchen is not equipped (only dishes and cutlery) and there is not a table. Have your meals in the garden with other guests ! You need a car as you are far away from centre and beaches.

Beautifully clean, really comfortable bed, amazing food and hosts! We were made to feel so welcome. Marianne and Xristos are so lovely and went out their way to make sure we had a lovely time. Great location too. We will definitely be back!

From Tami (Robyn's Mum as I booked on her behalf) I have just returned from a week staying at this amazing retreat. MariAnna & Chrístos are the most amazing hosts and are there for whatever you need whenever you need it. I was made to feel extremely welcome on my arrival and as this was my first solo trip as a single woman this made a huge difference to how comfortable they made me feel. By the time I left I felt like part of their family and was sad to be leaving. Coconut their dog is the most gentle little soul and takes his job welcoming all the new arrivals very seriously. He was a big part of my stay and I’ll miss him. Chrístos is an amazing chef and is there on hand to make the most delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, the portions are huge and very generous. You will not go hungry when you stay here. He also made me some very nice cocktails in the evenings. The apartment was perfect for me. It was clean and tidy and the huge bed was very comfortable. It also has a tv and air-con in the bedroom which was a much needed bonus. My room led out onto a nice patio area with a few stairs directly to the pool with enough sun beds and a beautiful garden area with comfy furniture and day beds to chill and relax on. There is a Lidl directly across the road which you can walk to in under a minute and the Hersonissos strip and beach is about a 15 minute walk with lots of shops, bar’s & restaurants. This was my first trip to Crete and MariAnna & Chrístos made it a trip to remember. I can’t wait to return to the Iphigenia Mythic Retreat and hope to do so very soon.
