We liked everything about our stay in Monemvasia. We stayed in the family rooms, 2 rooms connected via a vestibule with a private entrance. We felt secure that our girls were safe. The hotel is very well maintained and very pretty. The breakfast is simple but delicious - an authentic Greek way to start the day. My tip is to contact reception on arrival at the gate to organise a courier to grab your luggage and take it to the hotel, especially on a hot day! The couriers charge a small fee, well worth it as the stairs in the castro are quite steep. We packed light but still would have struggled to getting the bags down to the hotel and then back up again on checkout. The staff at Likinia were very friendly and helpful, in fact all the traders at Monemvasia were very welcoming and friendly, its a special place.

Monemvasia is a must visit place if you are traveling to Greece! Packing light is helpful as cars are not able to access beyond the castle walls. You may drive to the top of the road and drop off bags at the gate then park where you can find a spot along the road. Likinia is towards the end of the path. Keep walking the main path then follow the signs. It is very quiet spot away from the stores and cafes giving it a more secluded feel. The rooms are historic and beautiful. We were welcomed with a bottle of local wine. Room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was lovely, kind, welcoming, and considerate. Breakfast was served in the garden and was delicious. One of my favorite places we visited in Greece!

We stayed in a family suite and were told that we were the first guests of the 2025 season! It was our first time to Monemvasia and it won’t be our last! What an incredible place! The rooms at the Likinia Hotel were beautiful, clean & comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful! We loved the view from our windows and porch. The breakfast was wonderful. My husband’s favorite was the freshly squeezed orange juice and mine was the fresh citrus, with honey and Greek yogurt! The hotel owner held our bags for us after checkout so that we could spend a few hours hiking the island to see the ruins. Watching the sunrise and the hike to the Agia Sophia church in the upper city were our highlights! Make sure to buy olive oil from Maria in the shops.

The people who run the hotel are lovely, kind and helpful with everything we needed during our stay. Our room was beautiful and the breakfast buffet although small was handmade and absolutely delicious. The hotels location was a bit further away (a 5 minute walk) from the main road, but right next to the scenic Chryssafitissa Square and close to the charming Portelo beach. We couldn't have asked for anything more during our quick getaway and hope to come back soon!

Being in the walled city was remarkable and well worth the effort of carrying your luggage. There were lots and lots of slippery stairs so travel light!! Alex at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful! Even though we were only there one night and it’s best to stay for two we thought the village was magical!!! Alex suggested we walk up to the castle at day break and we were almost all alone. The stairs are worn down by centuries of people’s footsteps but every handhold you need to navigate has been held by thousands maybe millions of people!!! The room was so charming. The furniture reflected the feel of a time past. The lady at the front desk at checkout was charming!!!! We loved her.

Nothing.

We had a loft / triple room which was perfect for a group of 3 (one couple and a single person). Top room also had a door to close off for privacy. Air conditioning was great and beds were comfortable.. Breakfast was lovely and home made. Location was excellent, close enough to the restaurants but far enough to not hear any noise. Also close to portobello beach and the gate / doorway outside the fort. Great value especially for 3 people at €190/night.

Bathroom was small and tight but that might be normal for the area and wouldn't be a deal breaker. Would highly recommend staying here again

This hotel is magic - I feel like we chose the perfect place for our 2 night stay. It’s just away (2 minutes) from the main drag of restaurants and bars and so it’s very peaceful and serene. Our room had a lovely terrace where we could have drinks and relax, and the room itself was absolutely beautiful. Owners Voula, Alex and the team are extremely friendly, warm and welcoming and the breakfast is excellent, with homemade preserves, baked eggs, fruit, juice and pastries. We really could not fault it and are very glad we stayed here.

We loved this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly & helpful, the beds were very comfortable & it was very clean.

The only downside is how far from the main entrance the hotel was. Was fine for us, but we were travelling with my mother in her 70’s & it was a long slippery walk on the marble. Didn’t ruin our stay, but would have liked to have known that before booking; so adding it in my review.

Located in the beautiful, ancient and quaint, walled and cobbled island village of Monemvasia, and not too far in for carrying luggage. Loved that is not a typical hotel building and our room is accessed from outside rather than inside.

There was nothing we disliked. The description says the hotel is in the historic “Castle of Monemvasia”, but we discovered Monemvasia is actually an ancient walled town.

We booked the family room. It was super clean, and we enjoyed our stay as it was very close to the main road but far enough so that we could relax at night. The view from the parent's room was amazing and full of light. The children's room didnt have many windows and none in the bathroom either. The beds were super comfortable.

The breakfast was basic, as were the toiletries. When you pay so much per night, you expect better service and better amenities. There was a very dangerous railing outside our room's door that could be protected since the room hosts families.
