This was our second hotel during our 16-day journey in Greece, where we stayed in five different hotels, and for us, it truly felt like a boutique experience, every other hotel was compared to this one. The location is perfect, right in the center, in the heart of the action. Just step outside and you’re surrounded by restaurants and cafés; it’s never boring here. The village itself is also ideally situated for exploring the region and nearby tourist attractions. The staff were absolutely amazing, always welcoming us with a big smile and open hearts. They really thought of everything, down to the smallest details. For example, they made sure the air conditioning was already on before our arrival, so we’d feel comfortable as soon as we entered. The rooms were clean, and the value for money was excellent. Breakfast was one of the tastiest and most varied we had in Greece—rich and delicious. There are also dinner options at the hotel, which unfortunately we didn’t get to try, but the dishes looked truly gourmet. Highly recommended.
For us, everything was perfect, and I wish you the same wonderful experience.

Where to start? This is one of our new favorite hotels in the world. We had a room with a fireplace, and the wonderful staff were kind enough to help us light it. This means we spent every evening cozied up by a fire, in a small Greek mountain village. What a dream. The food was some of the best we’ve had in all our travels. The breakfast is the stuff of dreams—huge variety, with both sweet and savory options, and delicious cappuccinos made to order. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant two nights, and each meal was divine. This was the perfect Greek mountain retreat, and we would love to come back and stay again someday!
Nothing. Everything was perfect!

Hotel Kritsa and the gastronomy restaurant are a fantastic experience. First of all you have the lovely and wonderful staff. They are so friendly! They bring your suitcases to your room and they give you all the necessary information about Portaria, the shops … and everything you ask them. They are very helpful! The outside area of the hotel is like the garden of Eden with an 800 year old tree at the center and a well next to the tree . You don’t need to buy a bottle of water. They fill a carafe with fresh spring water. Lovely! Water can taste very good. The rooms are comfortable. Old style Pelion. I had a room with a balcony over looking the square with the old tree. Very recommendable! And then last but not least you have the breakfast. Only for the breakfast you stay in Kritsa. It’s of an unbelievable good quality with very good quality local products and products from their own farm. The restaurant is also a very good experience. Lovely food and a very good wine selection. The service is professional and very relaxed and friendly. I come back.

Great location in centre of Portaria on the main square. the room was very comfortable and tastefully furnished in a traditional style, with a balcony overlooking the square. Tea and coffee were available in the room, which was a nice extra, as was the complimentary little jar of fruit preserve - delicious! Staff were friendly and attentive. Delicious breakfast served inside or on the terrace outside.
A couple more vegetarian main course options in the restaurant would have been nice, but the menu changes according to availability of produce so I guess it depends when you stay. Having said that, the food was delicious and good value.

Traditional property situated in the main square and above their exceptional restaurant. All of the staff were brilliant and very helpful. We ate in the restaurant on both nights we stayed as it was recommended by all the locals we spoke to. The menu, food and staff were exceptional with a large selection of authentic Greek food eg. rabbit, calves liver, red pepper pie, homemade sausage, local cheese were some of our choices. As the hotel/restaurant is situated on the village square, my son (9 years old) played with the local kids until 11pm whilst we enjoyed the evening.
We loved it! But this is a traditional house in a Greek mountain village. It’s hilly, with lots of steps around the village square so perhaps not for everyone.

The restaurant is fantastic. We tried different things from the menu, especially the daily menu and all of them exceeded our expectations. The staff is also great! We had a lot of conversations with them and they helped us with all our requests and they are very nice people! The rooms are a good size and have all that is required. We did not spend a lot of time inside the rooms, but the time spent there was ok. I hope to return here as soon as we can to visit more of Pelion!
Because we have some back pains/ neck pains the pillows were not that great and maybe they can set up some insect nets at the windows so that one can sleep with the window open and not hunt the mosquitos all night :))

i highly reccomend Kritsa Hotel. It is located centrally in Portaria, providing parking, which is rare, and the best breakfasti had in a long time. Since it is also a restaurant every product is fresh and delicious and they also own a farm so the ingredients are local. Imagine people from other hotels visit this one for their breakfast. The restaurant is also one of the best in the aera and even if it is downstairs we didnt hear a thing. Great experience in total!

We enjoyed our two nights at the Hotel Kritsa in Pelion. The area is very mountainous, and it's known for its food, especially things like "spoon sweets." The little town of Pelion is home to the Centaur Path, which we walked. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant and specializes in farm to table. In fact, we opted to take a cooking lesson through our hotel and were whisked away a couple of miles to the owner's farm. We picked herbs and vegetables and then had an enjoyable cooking lesson in the farm's kitchen, making phyllo and other items, which we were served for dinner. That was a wonderful experience and highly recommended. The hotel itself is in an old Venetian townhouse. Our room was at the top of a very steep staircase, but we got used to that. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the tiny town, and the meals we had there were very good. Recommended!
Our room and bathroom were tiny, but we didn't spend much time inside, so it was fine!

Check in was easy, done at the restaurant downstairs. Private parking was available and an easy 2 minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast was phenomenal - lots of fresh and homemade items, a large selection and variety of hot and cold foods. The room was much larger than expected, very clean and quiet.

The hotel was situated above the restaurant, which by itself is a hot destination in the culinary scene of Portaria (or even Pelion). The rooms were cosy, not large, but ample and warm, giving a pleasant sleep experience. The breakfast, being an extension of the restaurant, was superb and with many options, changed every day. Additionally, having the restaurant at our feet, was an added bonus!
Not the hotel's fault, but due to being an old building, be prepared for a good workout due to the unavailability of an elevator.
