We came here for a night as a stop just to relax, the pool area is really awesome. Outdoor pool with nice water and a lot of whirlpool zones an biiig indoor pool to swim. The sauna was a dissapointment, because it was one of the points to book here, but all of the zone is a no swimsuit one, not divided by men/women. At least you can keep your towel on. I think this should not be mandatory as I saw even in Finland, or give a different zone for nudists. Rooms are decent size, but a bit outdated, most of the visitors are seniors for their medical treatments. We had half board, dinner and breakfast, drinks not included, we only had a welcome drink at the bar at the reception. Large offers of food for everyone, prices a bit high for cocktails. We paid 218 euros for the night for the above-mentioned, but for me it was not worth it (parking was also not included). Regarding the location, you only come here to stay at the resort or to go by car, Balaton is about 12 km away.

The hotel had great wellness facilities available to guests as part of the cost of staying; thermal pools and swimming pools. The pool buildings and gardens are beautiful. All services at the hotel were exceptionally well ordered and organised, with every detail well thought through for comfort, convenience, and practicality. While the hotel was busier on Fri/Sat/Sun, it didn't feel too much (at this time of year)... although I expect it gets very busy during high season and holidays. The evening meal buffet was hearty, healthy, and tasty. The range of choices was good. Breakfasts are fine, with everything you need, except proper tea! (Bring your own with you to avoid a shock). Lots of Hungarian food, some Italian, plenty of salads, fruits, cheese, cold cuts etc... I didn't have any wine, but the bar and restaurant sell a vast selection, including lots of local varieties. While English did not seem to be widely spoken at the hotel, reception staff were fluent, signage included English, and otherwise, it was easy enough to manage. Staff were very helpful, and you can muddle through most situations. The room I stayed in was very clean, comfortable, and a good size. I believe my room was upgraded, and I was grateful for that, and the birthday gift left for me was a kind gesture. Included were towling robes and plenty of towels for use in the pools. The hotel is not stingy with all the extras that make everything easy. There is also a good-sized clothes drying rack on the balcony, which I used all the time after being in and out of the pools. The thermal lake is a 10/15 minute easy stroll away. This is a wonderful experience.

The option to select the softness of one's pillow from the brochure exemplified the hotel's attention to detail and commitment to guest comfort. In summary, my stay at Hotel Carbona was a truly wonderful experience. From the tranquil ambiance to the delectable dining options, personalized amenities, and impeccable room quality, it exceeded my expectations in every aspect. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing and indulgent retreat in Hungary.

While my room was a haven of comfort and cleanliness, I couldn't help but wish it was a bit larger. Additionally, one aspect that presented a challenge was the predominant use of the German language by the staff. For guests who do not understand German, such as myself, communication was occasionally difficult.

Facilities are good, nice selection of thermal baths. The food was simply amazing and I will defo go back.

There is no flexibility around check in, we had no traffic on motorways travelling through Austria and managed to be there at midday, 2 hours ahead of the check in (2pm check in) we had to wait bang on to 2pm to get the keys to our room. There could be a bit more understanding and flexibility from the staff, especially if you pay for the premium room.

Above my expectations, really. I guess, I was one of the youngest there among 50-70 year olds. But I enjoyed it a lot. Hot springs with cure thermal waters, facilities, employees, cafes - all very much. Especially for the low price one pays. The room with a round bed is comfy and cozy. Restaurant service is top. The food choose is also very impressive.

You know, me personally, I would appreciate to have some spa&recreation manager for helping to book/choose massages and treatments. May be at reception, May be via WhatsApp or some application. It took me some time to understand how everything works and it was hard to understand the medical facilities: which services and treatments would be beneficial for me, what does what, and how to book it.

The hotel was very nice and the staff super friendly. The SPA facilities were well-maintained. The room was spacious and we enjoyed having a balcony. The food options were excellent. The hotel is close to lake Balaton, which was great for a day trip.

The salt room could be upgraded.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had everything one may need for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent, you'll get everywhere on foot easily — to a grocery shops nearby, to the market square and to the main streets. Spa is great, and I specifically liked the small pool with massage of various muscle groups. I also enjoyed a little garden with chess ♟️

I wish there were a bit clearer indicators about which pool has which properties. I think I would have found them more easily this way. Overall it is all great!

Everything was just great. The food was delicious, the spa was incredible, the staff in the hotel was nice and friendly. We only spoke English, but that was not a problem. We plan to come back as soon as possible.

It had great facilities

They didn't honor the rate on Booking.com and charged me to full rate
