The rooms were nice, with a full bathroom. A great buffet breakfast for purchase. The 2 staff we met were very nice. Lobby comfortable. Location good for our purpose.

The staff was not available much of the time. Locked my keys in my room at 11pm had to search the place to find someone. The phone number they leave to call for assistance does not reach anyone. Also the website stated they serve dinner. But they did not while we were there. Several people walked in for dinner we were in the lobby at the time, informed them they don’t. Unless I’m the busy season they may.

Everything about this place (not just the hotel, but the whole village) was amazing. We came here in April and there was lots of snow on the ground and freezing winds coming from the north, but the sun was shining throughout our stay. If you're like us and want to breathe fresh air then Grundarfjörður is definitely the right place to be. The hotel was very cozy, and it was just by the water. There was free parking, big and comfy beds, nice bathrooms, mountain view from the windows, a microwave to use in the dining area in case you brought your own food..

The location was perfect for a day trip to explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The town has restaurants and an excellent market nearby. Room, bed, and bath all met expectations and we were very comfortable. Plenty of space for luggage and open closet to hang clothes.

Kirkjufell Hotel is located within a working industrial harbor. We were off exploring during the day, so we do not know what the working atmosphere was like. With the line up of trucks and forklifts it had the potential to be noisy.

Close to interesting sights (30 min drive to Snæfellsjökull National Park), plenty of parking available, staff were kind and made a special effort to make our stay comfortable, room was available for booking at the last minute.

Check in time was advertised as starting at 4 pm, but staff weren’t available until later in the evening. Would suggest future guests ask when staffed check-in time starts in case you have questions when you arrive.

Lovely little hotel with the best shower of our trip. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely greeting at reception. Excellent breakfast with the best muesli, coffee and fruit. Great quick toaster and good bread selection. Very good base for visiting the Snaefellsnes Peninsula as central..Lovely art on the walls. Close to cafes and great little supermarket/ post office You must do the cliff walk from Hellnar to Arnastappi and do go on from the monument as coast gets better. Public loos at latter place too and cafes.

Comfortable and spacious room. This is a great location to stay particularly if the Northern Lights are showing as it is only a few minutes drive and you are out of the village.

While we knew the restaurant was not open in the winter season it would have been handy if it had been - particularly given the number of tourists around.

The room was big and had everything we needed. The bathroom was nice and big also. Shower was great. The breakfast was good and had the traditional bread, jam and hot dishes. We had a good stay in Kirkjufell Hotel!

There is no elevator in that hotel. We had to carry our suitcases up a flight of stairs. If you need help with your suitcases there is a bellman who can help you carry your suitcases to your room.

Good size room, lovely view, easy to find, good breakfast

Entrance was locked until check in time. Anyone visiting would have travelled a long way so toilets and coffee on arrival at anytime would be good. No lift, I was OK but friends we were with had medical conditions which meant help was needed with suitcases

The interior of the hotel was extremely clean and tidy. The staff were so nice and helpful- my friends and I had instant noodles and even though the kitchen was already closed, they were still kind enough to offer to heat up our food and provide some hot water. The rooms were nice and clean and lots of space. Right outside our window was the Kirkjufell mountain too, which was a nice bonus :)

Felt like an older hotel, but the room looked clean and was comfortable. Location was fantastic, a few minutes drive from Kirkjufellfoss. For dinner, do not miss Bjargarsteinn Mathús about a block away. Amazing food, views, and the interior could not be more darling (portions are huge).

Minor thing, but the room came with an electric kettle but no easy way of plugging it in anywhere to use it, ended up having to balance the kettle on the tiny windowsill. Do not be late for breakfast, if you're 2 minutes late, everything is gone (but the nice lady might take pity on you and bring out a few things)
