Beautiful hotel in a spectacular location. The lounge areas are beautiful cozy nooks. And cozy to wait and watch for the northern lights. We saw them both nights we were there, right outside the hotel
The dinner was overpriced and had few choices. The staff weren't friendly about accommodating dietary changes. We had a few vegetarians- the dish was only vegetables with zero protein. Worst dinner during 10 day trip. There is a restaurant Sker restaurant only 20 minutes away that we had an amazing meal at. Don't waste your money or time for dinner.

The room was spacious and had everything you need. We were even pleasantly surprised to find a kettle and some complimentary tea!The towels and bedding are definitely high quality and there were cozy bathrobes for both of us. The bed was very comfortable and the view was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way. There is a great Lounge and Bar area. We would have loved to stay longer.
It is very expensive to stay here, even for icelandic standards. I know that the hotel restaurant is a fine dining experience and this is without a doubt a very high standard hotel at a prestigious location. But I can't deny that there is some need to renovate (at least in the old wing, where we stayed). At a price like this the bathrooms should have been gradually modernised.

Beautiful facilities, many parts looked new. Spectacular location. The staff was great. They asked if we would like to have them knock on our door if auroras were sighted. They did knock on our door, and we saw some beautiful auroras. All the better because the location is isolated with very dark skies.
We had dinner in the restaurant -- not much choice because there are no other restaurants nearby. The food was excellent, but it was all very high-end "foodie" dishes, and very expensive. Great if that's what you are in the mood for.

We had the room in the old wing and we had requested a room in the new wing. The toilets in the old wing were really cramped and not in good condition. The hotel location the staff and hotel itself were really fab. We were told they had informed booking.com to update the pictures on the website. Apparently superior room is old wing and something else is new. But frankly it’s hard to make out while booking online which most of us do nowadays.

Breakfast and the breakfast staff was the best of our trip! The property is spectacular and I loved spending time in the lobby area at the end of the day, they have so many seating areas with stunning views; also hiking all around the property was wonderful. I would gladly recommend or stay here again!
DInner staff was not very friendly, pretty flat. Be warned that the showers can flood, there is drainage but it still gets the floor pretty wet. Nothing to deter me from recommending the hotel!

Lovely cosy hotel with a gorgeous drive to get there. Surrounded by water and mountains with a nice walk down to the beach, past the church if you want to. Amazing sunrise in the morning. Room was nice and spacious, the building is quite dated but it adds to the charm plus I could see they are doing renovations. Nice couches and cosy corners near the bar to cuddle up and read or chat over a glass of wine. Dinner was lovely and breakfast had a nice spread.
The dining room was very large but we had all been set up in one half of it so we were quite close to one another and could hear louder groups conversations very clearly. If the space is there would have been nice to be spread out a bit more. Wish the fire was a bit more central to the seating areas, would be nice to sit in front of it except where it was placed if anyone walked through the main door a cold rush of air would hit you.

The location is amazing. The hotel here and the black church are really the only buildings in the area. We were visiting for our wedding/honeymoon. We had a larger room with a sitting area that was perfect for the two nights we stayed. Having the bedroom separate made it easier for us to get ready for the day and having the couch was great to be able to sit and relax like you would at home. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious (love the tub). The attached restaurant is excellent, we had breakfast and dinner both of the days we stayed. The views from the lobby are gorgeous. There are multiple sitting areas and the building, while new, has an antique vibe, with books, seating areas, fireplaces, etc. It was thankfully mid-week and not terribly crowded so it was lovely to be able to have a cup of coffee and relax and enjoy the views. The staff were thoughtful and amazing throughout our stay, congratulating us and surprising us with bubbly more than once. They took great care of us and I will definitely stay again when we visit this area.
Nothing!

This was such a delightful place. It is really a guesthouse/inn rather than a hotel. It was intimate, charming, comfortable, welcoming, unique, and the food was lovely. The location is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous views out of our beautiful suite, and the inn near some important places to visit in Iceland. When we arrived they upgraded us to their top suite given a cancelation. Our only regret was staying for just one night! We highly recommend it!!!

We were lucky to get a bottom floor deluxe room with great views of the waterfalls and inlet.
With these great views also came the tourists with cameras and drones to stand in front of the windows and enjoy the view as well. It’s very distracting and happens at all hours and people don’t seem to know your trying to sleep… Also the food was very overpriced even for Iceland. Dinner was good while we opted not to do the breakfast buffet as it was the usual Iceland fair of bad coffee, canned beans, hard boiled eggs and bread. Cold cuts are also on the meal for every breakfast if you like that sort of thing.

The most amazing view I have ever experienced in a hotel. We had a corner room with a view of the sea from 2 sides. It was incredible. Location is spectacular. Very peaceful and extremely remote. The hotel was comfortable, the room was spacious and uniquely oldy -worldy with monogrammed towels and luxurious bathrobes. It wasn’t cheap, but it was well worth it.
