What did we like? EVERYTHING! Do yourself a favor and stay here, you will not regret it! The location is unreal, right next to the water and incredible views - especially on a sunny day. We stayed in a more updated room and we would do it again in a heartbeat. Spacious, with a fantastic bathroom and the most comfortable bed we slept in over our entire 10 day trip to Iceland. We wish we had stayed here longer just for the bed, not exaggerating. Front desk was warm and welcoming. We made a reservation at the hotel restaurant and it exceeded our expectations as well. The bread/butter, the soup, the dessert, everything was 10/10. Service was great as well. I believe they are pet friendly here too! You won't regret staying here in my opinion, and someday we'll be back!!!

Nothing negative to say about this hotel!

The location of this Hotel allowed for spectacular 360 views filled with an abundance of natural Icelandic splendor. Staffed by a professional and friendly team, there was a sense that we arrived at just the right place. Accomodating but not hovering, every request was met with sincerity. The restaurant provided the best meal that we had during our entire Iceland adventure. Again the dining room staff were at the top of their game. The chef provided a fantastically adventurous, colorful and unique culinary expose. Bold combinations such as beet humus with beets, bleu cheese, pine nuts and greens. Mouthwatering eggplant and quinoa as well as local seafood with fennel and burnt applesuace. We couldn't try everything, but really wanted to.

A trivial matter of spacial awareness on the upper rooms with dormer windows. The guest must be aware of the diagonal ceiling angles near the window or a proper head smack is inevitable.

Quite possibly my favorite accommodations in Iceland. I’ve always loved to location and vibe to this property. This was the first time we stayed in the newer part of the hotel and it was amazing. Very posh and comfortable. We were only there for one night but could have been happy there for multiple days. The restaurant is one of the best in Iceland. Not a budget friendly place by any means but well worth the splurge in my opinion

Our room faced an older out building that seemed to be the preferred smoking location by staff. Not really a problem as the smell didn’t waft to our open window but assume it could be depending on the wind direction.

Beautiful hotel in a spectacular location. The lounge areas are beautiful cozy nooks. And cozy to wait and watch for the northern lights. We saw them both nights we were there, right outside the hotel

The dinner was overpriced and had few choices. The staff weren't friendly about accommodating dietary changes. We had a few vegetarians- the dish was only vegetables with zero protein. Worst dinner during 10 day trip. There is a restaurant Sker restaurant only 20 minutes away that we had an amazing meal at. Don't waste your money or time for dinner.

Large room with stunning views, very comfy bed and beautiful soft bed linen…location of the hotel is amazing. Lovely friendly staff in all departments. The hotel was the nicest in style of all the hotels we stayed in over our touring holiday.

Prices are high…..but it is everywhere in Iceland, but think for the prices charged for rooms coffee making facilities should be in line with the rest of Europe and the current trend for coffee drinkers and addicts ;)

The room was spacious and had everything you need. We were even pleasantly surprised to find a kettle and some complimentary tea!The towels and bedding are definitely high quality and there were cozy bathrobes for both of us. The bed was very comfortable and the view was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way. There is a great Lounge and Bar area. We would have loved to stay longer.

It is very expensive to stay here, even for icelandic standards. I know that the hotel restaurant is a fine dining experience and this is without a doubt a very high standard hotel at a prestigious location. But I can't deny that there is some need to renovate (at least in the old wing, where we stayed). At a price like this the bathrooms should have been gradually modernised.

Beautiful facilities, many parts looked new. Spectacular location. The staff was great. They asked if we would like to have them knock on our door if auroras were sighted. They did knock on our door, and we saw some beautiful auroras. All the better because the location is isolated with very dark skies.

We had dinner in the restaurant -- not much choice because there are no other restaurants nearby. The food was excellent, but it was all very high-end "foodie" dishes, and very expensive. Great if that's what you are in the mood for.

Gorgeous, isolated hotel on a windswept… glacier? Whatever the exact geology underfoot, it was beautiful, and we had a delicious dinner followed by great night’s sleep and a much-better-than-average breakfast. There are hiking trails beginning just out front.

My only bummer was that the price of dinner for two plus breakfast turned out to be about the same price of the room, but perhaps that shouldn’t have surprised me. And the food really was excellent!

We had the room in the old wing and we had requested a room in the new wing. The toilets in the old wing were really cramped and not in good condition. The hotel location the staff and hotel itself were really fab. We were told they had informed booking.com to update the pictures on the website. Apparently superior room is old wing and something else is new. But frankly it’s hard to make out while booking online which most of us do nowadays.

Breakfast and the breakfast staff was the best of our trip! The property is spectacular and I loved spending time in the lobby area at the end of the day, they have so many seating areas with stunning views; also hiking all around the property was wonderful. I would gladly recommend or stay here again!

DInner staff was not very friendly, pretty flat. Be warned that the showers can flood, there is drainage but it still gets the floor pretty wet. Nothing to deter me from recommending the hotel!
