Karuna Guesthouse was one of the most beautiful spots where I did spend the night. I got very lucky by choosing a double bed room in off season and got a whole studio icluding own bathroom! for myself, which I didn't expect to get. The kitchen was very clean and you got everything you need for cooking/cleaning/separating your garbage. The dining/breakfast/chill out area in the house was awesome and had a modern spacious design, you got a panoramic view into the night sky with big big windows. There was a hot tub and sauna for free. Couldn't be more happy with all this!

Very stylish (kind of eclectic, with modern and rustical mixed) and well equipped accommodation. You get almost like your own suite, not only a room. Check in and out was easy, did not meet with any staff or host. Quiet location with a beautiful mountain view. Many parking spaces. We really liked the bed and sleeping area :)

There was no breakfast option, only in high season I suppose. I must say the water is stinky, so you have to air the bathroom otherwise the whole place will stink. We did not have this problem anywhere else tho, so it's not because of the normal geothermal area..

The atmosphere was very relaxing. It was close to nature, which made it really special. The common space and the kitchen were very good. The rooms were small but clean and convenient. The hot tub and the sauna were a nice bonus. Coffee and tea were free.

The kitchen could become really crowded in the morning and at the evening, which made preparing food difficult. There was no internet after a power cut.

We had the house to ourselves! Which was absolutely unexpected but welcomed. The lobby was really cosy and the kitchen perfectly equipped. We love animals , so we felt very good on a farm. The host was really helpful! Booking app didn't send me important informations and for two days we had a problem with Booking services. The host was very kind and very helpful and made sure that we have everyhing we need. The hot tub was absolutely amazing, really hot which was great after a long day in the Icelandic weather. We had a superb room with bathroom, very comfy beds, own entrance just beside the car parking, thus very short distances to move the suitcases from the car to the room, in the middle of nowhere, therefore safe and cute having the host's dogs visiting in the morning. There is a very comfy and large lounge/dining room with tables, sofas, free coffee and tea, to have own cooked dinner and breakfast offered by the hosts, and watch Iceland videos on youtube via large screen smart TV.

The guesthouse has a capacity of 10 rooms, but just one kitchen with few kitchenware - we percieved this to be a bottleneck, on the evening where we stayed there (the french family had to wait to be able to do their cooking) and the ktchen was lacking basics such as cooking oil - as a consequence we had to drive to the gas station about 10 km away to be able to do our cooking. We think that Karuna is really a superb value, but the kitchen facilities feels like an issue. It might be costly and difficult to have a second kitchen, but at least the kitchenware such as number of plates, cutlery could be increased and basic equipments completed, that would greatly improve the situation for almost no cost.

The location was great, a sweeping view of the valley from the hot tub a new sauna with glass door to see the view too! It was immaculate & clean and common/eating room was huge with long tables to eat on and meet people or many sitting areas created in case you want to be alone and chill. Our rooms were great and shared bathroom/showers were a good size and extremely clean! Everything was thought about & functionable...

Room was very large and the beds were really comfortable. Nice bathroom and very well appointed room. It all felt very high end and much nicer than the pictures reflect. Seemed to be very soundproof as well. The best surprise was the included breakfast we were not expecting. All around great experience and we would definitely stay here again.

It had a nice view but not many windows in the room from which to see it.

Amazing Location. Hot Tub and Sauna available for use was amazing. Good kitchen facilities and large communal room. Room was comfortable for 4 people and we had an amazing stay.

Roof sky light was slightly leaking which we didn't realise until we were leaving. Must have been left slightly open or something but one of our bags was quite wet. Also showers were very sulfur smelling

The location was great. One of the few places in all of Iceland that was able to accomodate our family of 4. We had to share the kitchen with some honeymooners which was a little awkward. The common area was very large and we probably would have spent more time there, but we couldn't get any English speaking television stations. We never saw the hosts, but they quickly responded to emails -- even while on site.

This is an elegant version of an Icelandic guesthouse, with a beautiful common area for meals. The beds are very comfy. There's a small kitchen with almost everything you might need to make meals. The host was very helpful when we ran into a problem - she went out of her way to solve our problem and we really appreciated that. The room was quiet and pretty comfortable. Breakfast was very nice - plenty of food and a variety of choices.

We had to walk downstairs to use the bathroom, which isn't fun in the middle of the night.
