The view on the river was great. The kitchen had all the basics needed. The 2 room cottage was a good size. The table on the deck was lovely as we could eat outside and we cooked on the BBQ.

As we came in after hours we had to call to get the instructions on how to get into our cottage (it was easy) but we had no working phone in Iceland and did write prior to get instruction which we did not get by email. We would have liked the instruction on how to operate ourselves the spa. Oil salt and pepper would have been nice to have at the cottage so bring your own. We used google translate to understand the guest instructions in Icelandic.

We had a beautiful view of water outside our cabin.

When we got to the Guesthouse, we needed to call someone to get our key, since it was after hours. After calling a few times, we eventually got the person who informed us that our key was in the door of our cabin. Luckily, we had an international calling plan. Another family was checking in at the same time as we were and they didn't have international calling. We allowed them to use our phone. If we weren't there, they may not have known what cabin they were in or how to get the key.

Very good place to stay when you do long ride between Reykjavik and Acureiry or Myvatn. We had small house for two persons; it was very calm. There was kitchen place that was not indicated in description so we could have our own breakfast.

You have to use the phone to call the receptionist for check-in. My Canadian phone provider charges 30$ day even if you do just one call, so the checkin was a bit expensive in my case. It would be better to receive pin code or other information by e-mail, the wi-fi is available in cafe ant gas stations.

It was great! The owner was so nice and friendly. He upgraded us to the guest houses, and gave us a full dinner and breakfast even though that was not provided in our stay. That was the best night sleep of our stay, perfect temperature clean and comfortable beds. Would recommend and would definitely stay again if we’re in the area. Location was central to gas and restaurant.

We did a very last minute booking so check in was a process since we didn’t give much time for prep, but they accommodated us more than we expected!

The location and the hot spring bath top on the deck. It is across the street from the famous church. The restaurant B & S next to the church serves tasty food with reasonable price.

The noise inside the house. The boards separating the rooms is too thin. Every activity in house everyone can hear.

Nice cabin with awesome views of the river. The hot tub setup is odd and requires a bit of work but was good when it finally filled. Nice kitchen and living room space.

The water in the area really stinks of sulfur so be sure you bring drinking water. No bedside lamp in the bedroom. Instructions for the tub were a little vague. The bathroom wall is a mess of pipes and valves so I have attached a picture showing which one you turn on to fill the tub -pointed to by the Blue arrow, and the adjustment for the water temperature going out to the tub - the red arrow.

It was an ideal, self contained chalet, clean, well equipped, and certainly met my expectations.

Although the chalet was warm and well heated, due to the flooring, it was cold to walk on, and so, a rug or carpeting would have been nice, but not a real issue

great guest cottages based on the space and set-up of the cottage, but final touches could use some improvement. The space was fantastic for a family of 4. The beds are quite skinny and a bit short, but comfortable.

The blackout curtains aren’t total blackout (but this seems surprisingly typical at most hostels and guest cottages). Only provided a few hangers, so hanging stuff to dry (we were caught in a total downpour during the day) required some creativity. Limited kitchenware (e.g. no spatulas) so cooking was a bit challenging.

Everything! Our host was fabulous, we had been ruffing it for 3 weeks. It was time for us to have some nicer amenities.. we had booked shared bathroom etc. We asked for more privacy, our host moved Heaven and earth to accommodate us. I was so happy I hugged a guy I had never met before. Beyond his helpfulness the place was wonderful, clean, comfortable, friendly, polite etc. The maid was outstanding! This place is great for campers, kids, and us old folks!

Check in process not greatest. Sign on door said to call number - hard to get ahold of them. Had to call several times. Also took alittle figuring out how to fill the hot tub as no instructions were anywhere- was fabulous once it was filled! 😊
