We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The size of the family room was perfect for us, providing ample space and comfort. The location was easy to find using Google Maps, which made our arrival smooth and stress-free. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, featuring some delightful local delicacies. Additionally, the hot tubs near the hotel were a nice and cozy touch, adding to our overall relaxation. Highly recommended!

However, there were a few let downs. The paper cups in the room for hot drinks were not ideal for us especially for the kids. Additionally, there was a lack of closet space to unpack our stuff. Despite these minor issues, we still had an enjoyable stay.

Large spacious room with comfy beds and a hot shower made for a restful stay after a long day of hiking. The hotel Interior and guest rooms were updated and very clean which seemed to be the norm for all of the hotels where we stayed in Iceland. Staff were happy, friendly and very helpful. It snowed overnight and the front desk clerk looked up the road conditions for us before we departed. Also shared local favorites and must see attractions nearby or on our route. Dinner was excellent and a nice buffet breakfast gave us the perfect start the day.

Our room itself was spacious and had plenty of room to spread out. The layout arrangement was a little different, but the bed was comfortable and it was pretty clean (just noticed a few small things in the bathroom). There were plenty of hooks to hang things up. There was a sitting area in the room with a tv. Robes were also provided!

This hotel doesn't look very appealing from the outside, but it has nicely remodeled rooms, even if they are kinda weirdly laid out. The breakfast was lacking based on our personal tastes (not a big fan of smoked fish/meats) but the yogurt and bread was good! Nice for it to be included at the price point.

Can we please celebrate the lady at the front office! She was amazing and made us feel welcomed when we did our check in. She told us a bit about the history of the hotel, where we find everything, etc. The place looks a bit spooky, but it is actually pretty cool and the food in the own restaurant was great. Check out the Bar in the old basketball room.

A much nicer room than what you would expect when seeing the building from outside. Lot of foreign TV channels available if you want to watch while waiting for the northern lights :) Great breakfast!!!

A huge bright lamp just in front of our window, making it impossible to see the aurora from our room. There are 3 hot tubs which were cold, so we couldn't use them. No waffle maker on the second morning breakfast.

If the sky is clear, this is a fantastic spot to catch the Northern Lights Room was spacious Really quiet area

Our room was in a separate building, which isn't connected to the reception/dining area. If the weather sucks, then you have to walk outside in the cold. Breakfast was the weakest in comparison to other hotels (lack of selection, toaster didn't toast properly,waffle iron was broken, etc.. ) Absolutely nothing in this village to see or do. But Hvammstangi is a ten minute drive, which does have a nice restaurant and other stuff. Still feels under construction.

- although the property looks a bit run down from the outside, it is nicely refurbished inside. - we had a triple room, with very comfortable beds. - good blinding curtains that keep the light out. - nice jacuzzi; bathrobes were provided. - breakfast is ok. - staff is friendly.

- from the outside the property looks like an old soviet sanatorium. It needs to be refurbished and the outside space badly needs maintenance.

The location and room was really lovely. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

Would have been nice to have had a cooked breakfast as it was very cold outside…they only offer a cold continental breakfast. Breakfast time also was very busy…staff rushing around and lots of guests…not very relaxing. We loved the little church that was lit up at night.

Looks nothing from the outside but this hotel is amazing, beautiful large room and bathroom with all amenities. Ladies on the desk were very helpful and food in the restaurant was lovely The tea and coffee station is an added bonus filling your cup up before you leave for your drive

The restaurant was very good. Happy hour was excellent. The room was clean and spacious. The room was quiet even though it was right beside the elevator. The amenities were nice and we enjoyed wearing the robes out to the hot tub. It was a great location to view the Northern Lights.

Breakfast would have been better if the food items were labelled.
