The guesthouse can be reached with a very short detour from the Ring Road, being located in a lovely small village at a beautiful lake. The personal was very friendly and flexible in regard to our arrival time (flexible check-in option). The breakfast got prepared at the evening before and stored at the fridge for self-service in the morning for a flexible departure which meets everybody‘s needs. Breakfast was allright with a mixed box of bread, fruits, joghurt etc.

Limited choice for dinner at Hvammstangi, although there are 2-3. However, we went for a restaurant that took us a 15mins drive by car.

I chose the guesthouse as a base for exploring the westfjords and it would have been perfect for that, but the roads were closed due to severe weather. The owner went out of her way to help and advise me when I was worried about road and weather conditions. I ended up having a quiet break and the guesthouse was just perfect. There are great cooking facilities and a good dining area, a very comfortable lounge, good wifi and hot drinks provided. Entry to the local heated pool and hot tubs is included. It's quiet, comfortable, safe and within easy walking distance to a supermarket, a good restaurant, the seal centre and a small museum.

This a good hotel in very small town. The rooms are adequate but very clean. Good location considering the size of the town. Breakfast is provided in a box which consists of bread, pastries, juice, bananas and yogurt. Coffee is available all the time in the kitchen that you can share with others.

I would have liked at least some protein for breakfast, like boiled eggs or ham.

Due to the time of the year we were the only guests. Smoke alarm was beeping and she came directly out and resolved the issue. There are two very nice sitting rooms and a free coffee machine available to the guests.

We wanted one of the sodas from the "honor bar" and it was all locked up and since there was no staff on site we couldn't get in, probably could have called, but it was not really that big of an issue.

Don't just by the basic appearance of the outside, it's really nice inside, very clean and comfortable. Lovely and quiet. Very close to anything that you could want to do in the area. Sockets near the beds and some good lighting. There was no kettle in the room but there is one in the lounge, which we only discovered when we left. Good breakfast supplied in the cost of the room.

Room was simple and clean. Great shower and comfortable beds. Breakfast option was nice and good value for money. Loved the amount of items available in the shared kitchen, even an air fryer! the lady at the desk was very lovely.

nothing to change, but be aware that the water coming from the tap is geo-thermal, which at first can put you off because of the sulphur smell. You quickly get used to it though, and my skin was very happy. Maybe a note in the room would be good to add to ease the dread that comes between walking in the strongly scented room and having a shower.

Whilst there was nothing hot, there was plenty of choice for breakfast. There was a good hot drinks machine and it was free to use 24/7. The beds were very comfortable.

The shower had no mixer tap so it was possible to get scalded or frozen with very little movement of the taps. We had 2 single beds instead of the double we requested.

Alla Dora, our host, was warm and welcoming. We used the common kitchen and found it easy to make a simple dinner. The bathroom and bedroom were cozy, clean and comfortable. Unlimited coffee and tea provided 24/7. Delicious breakfast also provided.

No complaints! The guesthouse isn't fancy, but it was perfect for our needs.

We liked everything! Great location, easy to find. Stuff is very friendly, late check in, key in the box, no stress. Specious room to relax and maybe chat with guests. Good breakfast, fresh veggies and fruits and all you need for morning feast, which you can enjoy as well outside on a terrace.

beautiful guest house in a lovely location. room was spacious and added coffee machine in lounge area to help yourself to a nice coffee at anytime. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety . we had a slow puncture on our hire car and the owner very quickly help us arrange for someone to come and sort it. within an hour we were back on the road. very helpful and friendly staff at the hotel and we got an early check in no problem
