I felt like I was living as part of the family. I enjoyed playing with the children, chatting to the family and doing some vegetable preparation for the meal. Food was fresh, delicious with lots of vegetables. I felt more connected here than in a hotel. I also felt under the protection of the family who were able to give lots of help and advice. They helped with transport, guides for sightseeing. There was lots of laughter and goodwill. My room was on the second floor. It was a very generous size, clean and no traffic noise. I was able to visit the Shantindiaschool where I spoke to the students and teachers and was fortunate to sit in on a teacher training session. A fantastic project that provides education to 850 disadvantaged local children. This place radically changes lives for the better. I felt happier contributing to the school rather than giving plastic covered biscuits or rupees to the hundreds of beggars. The location is 1.5km out of town so I accessed the beautiful Tara temple and Tergar Monastery as well as the Temples in the main town.

The bed was a bit hard

The room was clean and comfortable for a budget option. The staff were all very kind and super helpful. Anuj spent hours one night trying to book us train tickets, and didn’t charge any commission. They run a not-for-profit school for disadvantaged youth, of which they are more than happy to give you a tour. And they will make a home cooked breakfast or dinner for you with advanced notice.

It’s a little far from the main sights, but not too bad if you don’t mind a 20-30 minute walk.

We had an amazing stay here, the staff was very friendly and the project that they are supporting with over 700 students to change their local community is inspiring. We left inspired by the children who have been given an opportunity due to the amazing work of the staff here. It was very nice to see and speak with the children during our stay. Two big thumbs up. Additionally, the took great care of us to help organize tours, help us send a package with the India Post, and organize other sightseeing during our stay. We will stay there again and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a local authentic experience with people making a true change in their community.

We were made to feel so welcome at Tara Guest house, they looked after us so well. They fed us a delicious breakfast each morning and had such interesting conversations with different members of the beautiful family running this guest house. The room was spacious, very clean and with perfectly running AC. Anuj took us to see his free school, which the guest house helps to support. It's a really wonderful mission that he's got in place. Thanks so much for hosting us so lovingly. I highly recommend visiting this place if you're in Bodh Gaya.

Great, clean, quiet setting off the main road hosted by a lovely, helpful family. Good size room! Electric kettle in the room was super useful! Free drinking water. Nice Indian family breakfast. Will be back soon! :)

Bedlinen, specially the pillow cases - and pillows - could be all checked before the high season comes! :) Wifi was not strong enough during my stay!

The welcome was like a real family. They helped us with everything we needed and even my wife had a bad stomach and they gave her some medicine and they prepared some meals so that she could recover and she recovered. I am very grateful to them and also for the work they are doing in this world. People like the hosts of the guest house are needed, helping those most in need. In this case with the school they have set up to welcome the most disadvantaged children in the region and thus give them a new opportunity. For me it is a greater pleasure to be able to stay in a place like this, apart from having all the comforts that we needed and was incredible clean, to also be able to help their project with the money from our stay.

Staff is amazingly friendly and helpfull. Peacefull place all together, as the guesthouse is located in a green and quiet area. Enjoyed the conversations and breakfasts on the terrace and some interesting excursions. Rooms was really comfortable

It's quite a stroll to the main temple, 25 minutes. But transport is easy and cheap

As a solo traveler it can be hard not knowing anyone in the places you come to, but at Tara guesthouse, you expect a place to stay, but once you come you feel a part of their family. The food was the best I have tasted during my one month travel in India. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I had the most wonderful time here. I booked for 3 nights and ended up staying for 13 days. I loved everyone at the guest house they are the loveliest people and help you with anything and everything. The rooms are spacious comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi is fantastic. Food is amazing! Location is great! I already miss everyone! I will be back for sure! 🥹❤️

I liked a lot the facilities, the room had a good size, there was hot water , we had mosquitoes nets at the windows, nice blankets and nice cotton towels.

The electric plugs were not enough and placed in weard positions. They should provide more toilet paper and some soap
