Extremely helpful and friendly staff, they speak Bangla, Hindi, Tamil and English. The manager Mr. Ajay was always available and he literally had solutions for everything. Most helpful manager ever ! The hotel location is excellent, only 50 rupees fare to Apollo hospital. Room and bathroom were very clean. Ac, tv worked fine. There was a common refrigerator downstairs to use. There were so many restaurants around and we found all types of food at a very reasonable price. I was in chennai for my mother's knee replacement surgery. Booked for 1 night, then ended up staying for weeks! The hotel even had a wheelchair for patients. My mother liked the hotel too. Will definitely stay here next time.

After looking at the good reviews, I decided to book Gulnaar Inn to spend a couple of days in Chennai after my Visa appointment. The manager and staff are proactive, friendly and never intrusive. As a woman travelling by myself, I never felt unsafe at my stay here. Would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling on a moderate budget if you want to skip Oyos. I didn't try the restaurant here but that was because of the accessibility to plenty of other options you could walk to. Satyam is also at a walkable distance if you want to enjoy a good theatre experience. Thank you for the pleasant stay!

My stay at Gulnaar Inn was comfortable and peaceful. The Manager Mr. Ajay Kumar is a Gem of a person. He helped me by all means, especially arranged an early check-in at 08:00am. The staff was helpful and courteous and wore a broad smile always making me feel stress free as I was in Chennai for my US Visa Appointment. Thank you to Gulnaar Inn and it's staff for making my trip a memorable one. I will surely visit this place again. I would also like to thank Booking.com for giving me such a wonderful property. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gulnaar and had an excellent experience. The room was impeccably clean and well-maintained, with fresh drinking water readily available. Hot water for bathing was consistently provided, which was a nice touch. The hotel's location is fantastic, situated right in the heart of the city near Marina Beach, making it convenient for sightseeing and exploring. A special mention to the hotel manager, Mr. Ajay, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. He provided valuable assistance throughout our stay. I highly recommend Hotel Gulnaar to anyone visiting the area. It offers great service, a prime location, and exceptional hospitality. I encourage my friends and family to experience this wonderful hotel at least once.

Location for my purpose was good. Manager Ajaykumar is very helpful. Staff also behaved well. There are restaurants and shops nearby. Overall satisfied.

Should sweep the underside of cots. Small black cockroaches around. Should do pest treatment. There isn't window or ventilation for the room or toilet, not even exhaust fan for toilet. It is mandatory to have these, at least ventilation with net covering.

I spent several days here as a base to explore the city and surrounding area and found it ideal. Large, comfortable and quiet room. Mr Ajay Kumar, the Manager, was very friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. No catering, but Greams Cafe on the corner was great.

I found more than I expected here. It is similar to the photos...and cleaner than most places I've stayed. I felt safe and good here. The previous reviews were really helpful and I would recommend this guesthouse to my friends. It's quiet and comfortable. Check out the Writers cafes within walking distance.

A tiny cockroach in the bathroom. If there is rain there is flooding on the road outside. I could not buy a late check out.

The property was well located but off the Main Street so it was quiet. It was clean and the room was of a really good standard. The bathroom has hot water and the shower pressure was good. Staff were really friendly and helped us receive a parcel too. We only stayed one night but definitely recommend if you want to be close to good food (Sangeethas) and you need a few nights to get some good sleep!

Nothing, everything was fine!

The Staff were very friendly and the room met my requirements for a short stay and was great value for money. The location was walking distance. For Westerns there is a large shopping mall, with large Supermarket 'Reliance Smart Bizarre', Western style shops and eateries ; Pizza Hut etc. etc. Because it is in the City, you have to embrace this. I would stay again.

The bed sheets were clean. The stuff was friendly.

I found out that the room does not supply AC, while on the photo it was present. But sleeping with the fan on was ok. When it rains, the front of the hotel becomes flooded like a lake, making it impossible to walk. I had to take a tuk-tuk just to cross the flooded area and reach the main road
