The location was excellent and the staff at reception as well as the housekeeping staff were extremely good. One or two of them occasionally were rather busy on their phones to notice the guest walking by but that is a curse of this generation; I don't blame them! :) Very comfortable rooms, very clean overall. I would strongly recommend their Singapore / Malaysian restaurant for lunch or dinner.

The breakfast was the only thing that stopped me from giving the maximum possible ratings! It's such a classy restaurant; the breakfast spread should be much bigger and properly served like breakfast buffets at most comparable hotels.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were fantastic—always available and quick to assist whenever we called. The rooms were very clean, with daily cleaning ensuring everything stayed fresh. The hotel restaurant served delicious food, making dining in a great option. The location was perfect, with easy access to auto rickshaws and Uber, and just a short distance from T Nagar. Highly recommend!

Overall, a pleasant stay, but there’s room for improvement. While hot water is available, it tends to get slightly colder, so enhancing that would be helpful. Also, extending breakfast hours to 10:00 or 10:30 would make the experience even more convenient.

As a western person I would like to have more food options for me, zero spicy has to be zero spicy. Otherwise everything is great. I definitely recommend this place.

I am at repeat customer... which says a lot. The reception staff are well trained. I was greeted with warmth and kindness.I appreciated the efficiency ( without the bureaucracy that is normally seen in hotel receptions). The reception staff were helpful and printed out my boarding passes. I also appreciated that I was seated comfortably whilst the reception staff did most of the check-in work. Mr Suresh Kumar D is the General Manager. This gentleman knows what it means to run a hospitality business. I like the fact that he leads from the front ...literally... rather than sitting behind a desk in a back office. My room was clean and functional. I am hoping to be back...

Generally, all the staff, including the receptionists, restaurant staff, and porters, were extremely helpful. I have to specifically mention the names of G.Manager Suresh Kumar and Ganesh, who went out of their way to help us.our room was clean and well maintained.

There was a slight hiccup in communication during the booking. I requested an early check-in through booking. Com and I informed the hotel that I was prepared to pay the extra fee for that. But the hotel did not reply to this.and we ended up loitering on the streets of Chennai for a few hours, which was at that time. But the staff were helpful in whatever way they were able. If not for this reason, I would have given 10 out of 10 grade.

Unassumingly nice hotel. Good clean rooms and toilet, friendly staff, in a relatively quiet surrounding...even though it's near T - Nagar. The restaurant is not part of the hotel, but room service can be ordered but must be settled on delivery in cash or by card. The restaurant food is based on Malaysian Cuisine which is a welcome change from the Indian Cuisine. Friendly Waiting Staff. The breakfast is served in this restaurant, but I am non plussed at the variety and quality of the breakfast. Extremely helpful front desk and I would like to commend Mr Ganesh and Mr Gautham for their efficient handling, professionalism, and kindness. Both are fine people who seem to understand the hospitality business. I hope to stay in this hotel ...when I'm in Chennai next.

We had a pleasant stay with warm and friendly staff and found the hotel to be great value for money. The flexible accommodation arrangements, including check-in and late check-out, were much appreciated. The attentive team and comfortable amenities made the experience enjoyable, and I look forward to returning in the future.

While the overall service and amenities were commendable, the breakfast options felt limited compared to similar hotels. Expanding the selection to include more fresh fruits, healthier choices, or regional specialties could elevate the experience and align with the hotel’s otherwise high standards.

The location is excellent. The Rooms are very clean and quiet spacious. The Manager was very Kind and helpful. Even gave us complimentary breakfast for 1 day of our stay, even though it wasn't a part of our package.

There seems to be some discrepancy with the room description on booking.com. There is no Sofa bed in the apartments. but they did provide us extra bed after a bit of argument with one of the staff. This particular staff was rude. but everyone else was nice.

This was a family trip for three days in Chennai. So we stayed in Start City for two nights in three Studio rooms among the six of us in the family. From the start, it was a feel-good factor since Mr. Anupam, whose contact number was available on Booking.com, was the first one I called to confirm before reaching, and he was welcoming enough to say the rooms were all set and ready for our arrival. My request for a slightly early check-in was accommodated by the staff at the reception since there was availability to our luck. In my experience, I have seen a lot of hotels taking their own time and delaying the check-in and the admin/paperwork, but in Star City, Mr. Ganesh, who was receiving us, ensured to send the family to the room in parallel while he was taking all the documents and filling the needed details for the check-in. I appreciate that, especially since the family is always keen to get to the rooms while I finish up the paperwork and the payment-related things. The Rooms were Clean, Neat and tidy and the Bathrooms were in pristine condition. There is good space and furniture to hold the luggage for a couple of days' stay and even an excellent work-from-the-room setup. The location is another Key factor for Star City since since T-Nagar is one of the best shopping areas in Chennai and most of the places are within walkable distance from here. The courteous & polite staff are an asset to this hotel. Be it the folks in the reception, supervisors, Security, Valet parking and cleaning staff - all of them were smilingly helpful be it the need for water bottles to beat the support or cleaning or any other questions asked or support needed. Ganesh, Gautham, Lokesh, Venkat, and Mani are some of the names that I can remember, but there are more names I can't recollect that were friendly and accommodating. In all this team ensured we had a comfortable stay for 2 nights. I sure will stay here again.

The Wifi was a bit of an issue since it was either not connecting or dropping off, and the Mobile network was very low once we entered the rooms, especially since we were on the 2nd floor and there were 4-5 floors above us. But I guess these are tech problems/glitches as usual and not a people problem as such. Since it wasn't a work visit, it didn't matter. And in a way that helped the family to have more in-person conversations instead of starring at the phone ;)

We had a fantastic stay at Star City Hotel. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was top-notch. The bed was very comfy! Had a good night rest. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained. What really stood out was the breakfast—one of the best I’ve had at a hotel. There was a quality selection of both hot and cold items, and everything tasted delicious. The staff was attentive and made sure everything was replenished. I’d gladly stay here again!
