Proximity to Darjeeling Mall and more important the property is maintained well and clean.

The road to the property, about 4 min walk from main road is too small and steep slope. If another vehicle comes, one has to run to the sides or another property entrance to give way for the vehicles. This becomes a safety concerns if one travels with old people or kids less than 10 years. This makes it difficult to board your vehicle at the door step for everyday trip. One has to walk up to board the vehicle. But these conditions are common in Darjeeling with almost every property so not a big dealbreaker.

The hosts of this place were incredibly warm and hospitable. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we were at home. Our entire family, especially our children, were exceptionally well taken care of. The hostess went above and beyond to cater to the needs of the kids, even providing Mango drinks. The property itself is a well-maintained heritage property with a rich history. Its greatest advantage is its convenient location, within walking distance of all essential places, including the mall. Despite encountering a foul smell in the bathroom, most likely due to drainage issues, it did not prevent us from having a pleasant stay.

However, it is important to mention that the hotel's peculiar location on a sloping hill made access challenging and inconvenient. Additionally, the absence of parking facilities added to the inconvenience.

I booked the property just by relying on the feedback received and the photos on various booking sites. I even second guessed my decision multiple times. But it turned out to be the best decision. The hosts were very very welcoming. It felt like home the moment we stepped in. We (especially our kids) were looked after very well with madam going out of her way to provide for all the kids needs (like chocolate drinks, home made ragi malt we had carried). The property itself is a heritage property (with some grand history) that is maintained very very well. Its proximity to all necessary places including the mall is the highlight of the property. Overall it was an extremely pleasant stay and we will definitely go again if we ever visit Darjeeling in the future

Everything was to our liking. A few things like noise from the other rooms can be heard which is not a big deal for us but good to know for any potential guests in the house.

Tasteful building and rooms. It was used to be a colonial house back to the 19th century, full of historical episodes and background. Small, family like atmosphere and hospitality by the hotel staff. Convenient location, near from the famouse darjeeling Mall but quiet in the hotel building.

No scenic view from the property surrounded by other buildings (developed later). But the cozy front garden is pleasant and only 2 minutes walk to a Himalayan view point.

A 1841 property - learnt as one of the first 5 houses in Darj - maintained in British style with 180 year old wooden roof, floors, antique furnishing, LIVE FIREPLACE, antique collections, huge rooms. Thrilling exceptional experience. Rupam, the Manager, is ever enthusiastic and bubbling with energy explaining everything along with history. Decent, polite staff. Located at 5 mins walk from Raj Bhavan and Kanchenjangha view point. Overall very exceptional property.

Surely the breakfast. Too simple. too light for the overall price. Quality of food in terms of taste leaves lot of scope for improvement. Though well located on motorable road, the road in front is very steep indeed in both directions. No parking space inside the hotel. The floors though cleaned on daily basis, has black stains all over acquired through 180 years. Management should take some step to clear off the stains and polish the wood to restore a brilliant finish. Shower in bathroom was not up to the mark in at least our room. A bit high priced.

Absolutely Amazing hotel - takes one back to the late 18th century and gives a feel of what it must have been in like to stay in a residence from the past. Lot of History. The staff and the Management are extremely good, available, and responsive. Made the stay even better Good location - walking distance from Chowrasta

An Oil Radiator type heating option would have added to the comfort - especially on a very cold Dec day. There is an option of the fireplace, and electrical heater - but an oil Radiator type heater could have made it even more comfortable

The management and staff made me feel really welcome. The history of the hotel is fascinating and the rooms have so much character. The bed was comfortable and the duvet kept me warm. I enjoyed exceptional breakfasts in the dining room. The location suited me very well as the hotel is close to the main square and a short walk to many attractions.

Everything was very good.

The warm welcome of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt like cherished guests from the moment we arrived till we left.

The property was undergoing refurbishment which caused some minor inconvenience.

Staff behaviour is so good and polite. Food preparation is like home cooked food. Excellent 👌.

View from room could have been better.

Owner, the manager and the staff are very nice and really take care of the guests. The hotel is close to the mall and is situated in a quiet area.
