We had a great stay at the Zostel Mcleodganj! Our room was private and had the most amazing views of the mountains through two large windows. We woke up to the sunrise reach morning and it was incredibly peaceful. The hostel itself is nice and clean and had many areas to hang out and relax. They also have books in the communal area you can read and the views from the communal balcony are wonderful. The food at the hostel was also really tasty! It has an active hostel vibe as well with nice travelers. We are Definitely going to try out other Zostel around India now! The location is great to walk around Mcleodganj and to explore the neighboring villages.

There was not much we didn’t like! It was a great hostel. Only downside is you have to walk up and down many stairs to reach the hostel, but we got a good work out!

The perfect view from the terrace to the mountain range, the friendly and helpful staff, good Indian food, even a carrom board in the community room ready for use. Good information at the reception regarding trips, hikes, stores, local events.

It was not possible to pay with an international credit card. An online payment system would not work here, while it did work a week later at another location. So maybe just a glitch. Luckily, among the two ATMs in town, one would accept my card and so I was able to pay in cash.

Had an amazing stay at Zostel. It has a super nice location with an amazing view from the community terrace. The staff are super down to earth, welcoming and helpful if you have any questions. Thanks Munish for the last four days. I’ve met a lot of lovely people there as a solo traveler so the whole atmosphere is very good. Special shout out to the cook. Indians staying there mentioned it can easily compete with better restaurants in the area so usually they ate there.

It gets quite cold in winter. Would be great to have heaters in the room but don’t know if it would fit the costs.

The common area and rooftop Cafe is a vibe. Great view from room and rooftop. They arrange different activities and game sessions, so, that's fun. Great for solo travelers who like to mingle or a group of friends. The staff was polite.

To reach Zostel, there are 100 steps to descend and climb back up, which can be inconvenient. Adding to it no one really helped with the baggage even after asking for it. The washrooms had a foul smell. The rooms didn't look as bright as they did in the pictures.

Rude guy like Mr Ankit in the cafe (common area) who tried to interrupt us and imposed curfew hours only cos few residents were celebrating birthday and we were laughing bit loud..later he was seen partying with other staff members after shooing us away. Extremely unhospitable.. Zostel should brief thier staff properly and the staff should know how to profile guests better., if et Al they are suppose to do profiling Also 4500rs/per night is way too much for a basic room in a place like McLeodgunj.

The ambiance was nice. The cafe was good, lots of games and the staff was fun to hang out with.

There are a lot of stairs for traveling to and from this place, but that's a thing about Mcleodganj, wherever you go, you'll have to climb many stairs and inclined planes. The lighting inside the dorm could be better. It was quite dim, you can't do much in that light.

Everything was good about Zostel. Its the best place i stayed after multiple trips to Dharamsala. My only comment would be the stairways down and entrance to the property could be more cleaner.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming! The location is great with an amazing view on the mountains and the food was very good :)

While we were here the weather was very cold which made especially our nights pretty chilly. Fortunately we could ask for an extra blanket but be aware that there is no heating in the rooms ;)

The dorms and rooms were clean. The staff (Munish, Sunny, Ankit, Rakesh, Ankur, Rajat, and all the didis) are kind and helpful. The cafe has amazing views, a great vibe, and good food.

The climb up and down when you need to go anywhere out of the property - be it the kirana store or Mcleodganj market. Even to collect any delivery the stairs pose an issue. And if you're coming with a suitcase/trolley, then it becomes a problem too.

The location is superb. Room size etc is good, we get sun in the morning being east facing. Value for money.

Supporting staff could give better hospitality like carrying luggage from reception to rooms as there is no lift. Also, one should know that one has to take 98 steps to reach the hotel so one will have to be fit guy.
