Location of the property is excellent. Room was clean and tidy. Mattress was comfortable, not too much of plush. View from room was awesome.

The check-in experience was a bit disappointing. We had mentioned the time of check-in prior to our visit, but the front office guy had no idea about the room availability. We had to wait for about 25 minutes to get the keys. Such silly things are not expected from a 5 star hotel. Bathrobe was not provided in the room. (It's ok if the policy doesn't permits so.)

Good spread with live counters. The food was not too spicy and oily. Table service was also prompt. Room water bottles were adequate. Walkable distance to the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre

Water bottles provided could have been glass bottles instead of single-use plastic to reduce the environmental effects. I was unable to control the AC temperature. The room often felt quite cold.

The staff make your stay perfect. I stayed for a whole week and Sudam would surprise me with beautiful towel sculptures everyday. He was very attentive and the room was spotless daily. Jaya and the chef pampered me during breakfast. The staff is just exceptional. The location is very central well connected to rest of the city. The breakfast spread was incredible. You coukd choose from indian, bengali, continental and even vegan and gluten free options. There were wide selection of salads, fresh fruits, different stuffing parathas, pastries, live counters for eggs, luchi, dosa. The spread seemed endless and was different everyday.

The hotel allows alcohol in room, one night I experienced an extremely loud neighbour who was drinking and running in the corridor at 3 am. The hotel needs to be more strict when it comes to allowing such behaviour. Despite requesting to the neighbours, they didnt stop as they were intoxicated, which created a lot of noise.

Fairfield by Marriott New Town is like that one friend who’s always well-dressed, well-mannered, and still makes sure you never go thirsty in the Kolkata heat! 🌞 The place is squeaky clean, classy, and has every amenity you can think of. The staff? Honestly, they’re so helpful I started wondering if they secretly have a sixth sense. 👀 The free water bottles felt like little blessings from heaven, the Wi-Fi worked without drama (a miracle in itself), and when I needed a printer in an emergency, boom — there it was at the ground floor like my personal superhero. 🦸 Overall, this hotel is not just posh, it’s practical — and it made me feel like royalty on vacation!

The only thing I didn’t like? Fairfield left me with zero complaints… and now my review looks like they bribed me with water bottles and Wi-Fi! 😂

PROS : 1.Reception staff (Rashmi & Priyanka )very pleasant and cordial ; helped us to navigate economically through Kolkata 2.Check-in process: fast; no hassles 3.Location-Convenience and ease of staying near the conference venue- “Biswa Bangla Convention Centre”;mainly to visit sites such as Ecco park , Misti Hub ,Nicco Park,Wax museum 4.Shopper Stop and Starbucks located right outside the hotel premises 5. Breakfast spread was quite apt for Marriott standards ; special mention to the trainees in the dining hall, Sourav Nanda & Bipra , who were very attentive and looked after my mother when I was not around 6. View from the room on higher floors 7.Dining /breakfast area staff (Israfil Biswas , Sourav Nanda & Bipra ) -helped to mobilize my breakfast on the go , as everyday the conference I was attending started at 8:00 a.m 8.Room service-prompt delivery of hot and tasty food 9. Rooms were pretty spacious for two occupants ; comfortable beds 10.House keeping staff : Raju and Utpalendu- pleasantly surprised by their kind gesture in getting us an extra stand , without requesting for one , to place our suitcases 11. 24x7 hot water

CONS: 1.Location-far off from city centre and other tourist attractions 2.Dining etiquette at breakfast time- If there is a large group like a company booking , the staff tend to be quite curt and not welcoming to other guests staying at the hotel 3.No rush hour timings for breakfast put on display for the guests like in other hotels Breakfast timings not adhered to on some days

The staff was excellent, specially the Front Office Manager Ms. Deblina extended very good customer service. Since we were three of us she upgraded us to a slightly larger room, provided other complimentary services. The breakfast spread was very good. The staff was very polite and ready to assist. On the whole a very fulfilling stay.

The size of the rooms are small, there is no closed wardrobe. Did not like the open space to keep our clothes.

Everything was perfect: the place is spotless and kept to a very high standard. The staff are incredibly kind and always ready to help with anything you need. Room service is fast and efficient, and the food - from breakfast to dinner - is delicious. This made my week in Kolkata very relaxing and comfortable. A special mention goes to the chief receptionist, who was amazing in helping my colleagues and me with our special requests.

The stay was excellent except for check out. The Hotel agreed to bring the luggage down from 2nd floor to car. Even after dialing 0 for multiple tines from Room No 201, no one reported. Finally me and my family and I arranged shifting the bags to the reception lobby My point is that the hotel should have clarified at the beginning that the same is not in their scope. My departure was delayed by 30 minutes and was lucky enough to get the train as. it was late. Request to improve the services. Otherwise, excellent stay .

We had a very comfortable stay...as durga puja was in the hotel itself we could give our pushpanjali and could see the puja completely from saptami to dashmi, the dhakis , the baul songs, the sindoor khela everything was awesome... The best part was the service and the behavior of the hotel staff.. Everything was attended immediately.. Room service was lightening fast.. Food was delicious n very fresh too... And at the last but not least our attending manager Mr. Ishrafil Biswas was very courteous and helpful..he attended us daily and took care of our every small need... Overall it was a great stay and would like to come soon again.. Thanks to the full team for making our puja stay and vacation a grand one..

Comfortable room and bed. Excellent service in the restaurant. Enjoyed the very extensive buffet dinner option. The staff in the restaurant were hard working and very polite. Prices were reasonable too. Helpful door security staff.

On arrival, the receptionist ticked the payment for GB pounds.even though I asked for it to be billed in INR. A small difference, but one that does happen from time to time. The small pool area was effectively unusable due to a wedding party.
