Beautiful building and the room was very spacious and well decorated and comfortable. The man who was selling tours and giving information was very helpful and knowledgable. The location is fun if you are looking for raw New Delhi street life experience.

The streets outside are very “raw” with narrow streets, hard to drive in taxis, loud honking and more. At two different times when extending my stay, reception staff asked me to show them my booking.com account which I did, and then wanted me to give them a perfect score in front of them which I did not do and as a frequent traveller I really did not like that.

The hotel is still undergoing a lot of renovation work, but we hardly noticed any disruption during our stay. Even now, it already looks beautiful, and once completed, it’s going to be absolutely stunning. We had a clean, spacious, and quiet room. The staff are very helpful if you need tips or want to book tours. I also had my laundry done – it was picked up in the morning and returned the same evening, which was really convenient. Overall, a very pleasant stay with attentive service.

The mattress was not very comfortable. One side felt the springs through, and the other had a deep dip. Also, We wanted to have breakfast downstairs, but it seemed this didn’t happen very often. The lights were off, and there was no one in the breakfast room. It was a bit messy, and without music, it didn’t have a very cozy atmosphere to wake up to and start the day.

I have traveled to many places, but Jyoti Mahal in Delhi will always remain my favorite hotel in the world. It is not just a place to stay—it is an experience, a sanctuary, a true Heritage Hotel that captures the soul of India with its vibrant colors, intricate decorations, and one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Every corner tells a story, and every detail feels crafted with love and tradition. I visited Delhi for both work and vacation with my young son, and from the very first moment, we felt completely safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. The staff’s kindness and attention were extraordinary—they are truly humble, warm, and good-hearted people. They are always attentive, noticing every little detail, making sure every guest feels welcome and cared for. I felt incredibly well looked after, and their genuine goodness made our stay even more special. My sincerest congratulations to all the staff for their dedication, humility, and incredible hospitality—it truly makes Jyoti Mahal unforgettable. The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and prepared with such care that we never once got sick, which gave me enormous peace of mind. Every meal felt like part of the journey, authentic and full of character. And the location—right in the heart of Delhi—yet the moment you step inside, the city’s chaos fades away. Jyoti Mahal is a true oasis of peace and beauty, where you can recharge and feel at home, even amidst the intensity of Delhi. For me, Jyoti Mahal is more than a hotel—it is a place of the heart. It’s where I felt safe, inspired, and embraced by both heritage and hospitality. I would return again and again, because no other hotel compares. This is a gem, a treasure, a home away from home. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I have stayed here on several occasions now and no doubt will return. It is just like the Marigold Hotel in the film: 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.' The staff are lovely and try very hard, sometimes things don't go quite right, but they cannot be faulted for effort. Plus you have the added bonus of the location, being literally two minutes away from the hustle and bustle in the chaotic Paharganj Bazaar.

Jyoti Mahal is like a unique diamond in perfect location for India travellers: close to railway, not far from airport, surrounded by colourful street market. Stylish Indian architecture, cosy and quite rooms with perfect aircondition. Professional staff is 24/7 at the property always ready to help, consult or organize things. Special thanks to Mahi Kaur - her friendly presence made me feel like at home. Take a chance to chat with the hotel's owners, who are happy to tell stories about the palace and open up it's secrets. Nice Delhi panorama view on the rooftop. Superbreakfast and even better meals to order to the rooms. Reasonable price. I know where to stay on my next trip to Delhi.

The Jyoti Mahal is a beautiful building in a great spot! There is so much wonderful work being done to make it better and better. I have stayed here in the past for many years and have always enjoyed it but now it is moving into the next level with all of the improvements being done. The staff were wonderful and so helpful, the food at the above restaurant was delicious and thank you to the owner for the delicious Gulab Jamun and the great shopping bags! I really look forward to my next stay!

I am challenged by the stairs .

We wanted to see Old Dehli and be within easy tuk tuk distance to Red Fort, India Gate, Conaught Place. We really got see those amazing street scenes of people working and living from the small homes, in the back streets there was no hassle and people were friendly. The hotel staff were very friendly and went out of there way to ensure our stay was well catered. We ate all our meals at the hotel and food was good. Hotel has a old Brittish Rage charm to it.

You need to take small taxis to enter the streets and we were a group of 12. Hotel staff was good and organised this for us.

Rooftop bar/restaurant is a great place to meet and chat with fellow travellers.

No wash basin in my en-suite bathroom. No lift so getting bags up and down was difficult.

Staying here was a great experience. Friendly, helpful staff and very comfortable beds. Location means there is always a lot to see right under your window and a great heritage building.

Bathroom was a little basic, but only to be expected in a heritage building. Power switch for the room was outside the door and neighbours repeatedly knocked our power off by accident, but these are small things. Overall, I'd recommnd this hotel.

Beautiful haveli building. Big rooms. Nice rooftop terrace. Staff wants to do the best for u. If u need anything, a few minutes after u get what u asked for. I feel at home at Jyoti Mahal. Paharganj is a noisy area, but as soon as you enter the hotel, u are in another world. No noise at all, Jyoti has become my favorite hotel in Delhi

Toilet at rooftop terrace and at reception are disgusting. Dirty, but real dirty No paper and no soap. Breakfast is served at the beautiful rooftop, but the waiter up there doesn't serve the guests at the best. There is no attention from his side. The menu has many things to offer, but very few dishes are available.
