Nice large family room. We enjoyed the pool table and other games. Good location, easy walk to Botanical Gardens and Tibetan market. 10 mins walk from restaurants. Good shop/supermarket 5 mins walk. Nice breakfast & kind breakfast staff.

Mould on ceilings in bedroom & bathroom. Could do with cleaning & re-painting. Man at check-in was not particularly friendly: took ages photocopying passports, then taking photos of passports and of us without making any pleasant conversation.

This was a really good stay. The location is close to main Ooty, just a walkable distance, but still silent and serene. The rooms were nice, no complaints, everything worked as they should. The staff were amazing. The free breakfast was excellent. They have a constant supply of hot drinking water in flasks in the dining area. Tea and coffee was available whenever we asked, the price was reasonable too. They have a wide variety of foods to order for lunch and dinner. Some were value for money and some were a bit pricey. But the taste was good, so no complaints. Room heaters were available for an additional price. We didn't feel the need. They give you additional blankets at no extra cost. We arrived early, they still let us keep the bags in the lobby and let us use the common restrooms to freshen up, they even gave us breakfast, albeit for a price cause we hadn't started our stay yet. I would highly recommend this place.

The room we stayed in was in the back next to the kitchen, so the utensil noises were a bit loud and annoying. But that's unique to the room we stayed in. All the other rooms seemed exceptional.

A house dating back to the 30s I think. We had a lovely room on the first floor at the front, with a very nice balcony overlooking the cathedral. Nice breakfast, but see below. Quiet. Very near botanic gardens and Moddys bakery (go!). Hot water in flasks was always available. They put an extra bed in our room at no extra cost.

Breakfast staff were friendly, but English communication was difficult. Hot water situation should have been explained on arrival, but was fine in the end.

Very well maintained. Very clean and hygienic. Bathroom was very clean. Parking is available. Very good for families. Nice staff and very prompt in responding. Breakfast options we had are idli poha puri on alternative days. You can ask for bread omelette. Very near to botanical and rose garden. 5 minutes walk. Boat house is 10 minutes drive.

A Hotel run by a Colonel! Lots of army memorabilia - veey homely with lovely big rooms. The breakfasts and restaurant were great - lots of food , very tasty and reasonable prices. The hotel is set back from the road with a small veranda which you can chill out on. There also patking for a few cars/mbikes. The hotel is in a great location - quiet but very close to the town centre - 5 mins walk. We went for a night and stayed for three and didnt really want to leave!

Even though the menu was a repeat, but the choices are amazing, so one can ask them and they are happy to serve your choice and preference. It was delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked food and we enjoyed it overall.

As most of our time we were out for sight seeing the time spent at the place was lovely. Nothing to Dislike about the place it's a well maintained property.

This is on a legacy property with old world charm, but very clean and well maintained. Wooden flooring & some antique furniture in our room. Large bathroom. The first floor has a pool table and carrom. Excellent location that is walkable from the botanical garden and Charing Cross, from where one can get autos to other places in Ooty. On request, the staff will call an auto/cab for you. Surprising variety in the a la carte dinner menu & the food was tasty. Staff was outstandingly helpful.

The breakfast has one item (e.g. idly or utappam with sambar & chutney), plus bread toast with butter/jam and omlette. While this was quite adequate for us, if you are expecting a buffet, you might be disappointed.

The breakfast options were good and the property was well maintained and extremely homely. The staff were prompt and very helpful with every request we asked for. Overall a very comfortable stay with the family.

There was black mould on the ceiling of the Super delux king size room and this really isn't good for breathing

Colonels Inn appears to be one of the many private homes in Ooty that was converted to a hotel. It has a lovely gated courtyard with reception in the stair lobby as you enter the front doors. My room was clean and simple with a double bed, a nice wardrobe closet and a table with 2 chairs and 2 small windows that let in lots of light. The bathroom was very large and nicely tiled. The location was far enough away from the central area to be very quiet (except during Mass at the nearby cathedral) but close enough for an easy walk to town or the Botanical Gardens. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant stay

Most rooms are off of a common room (such as the first floor Dining Room or the second floor Lounge) which could be a noise issue with inconsiderate guests. Also, I did not see any heaters so the common areas were a bit cold but the room was comfortable.

Especially the location of the property is very nice, you can view all the sorrounding hills. Right infront of the place there is a very beautiful Church. Then i will come to the staff, seriously the hospitality of the staff is amazing. All the staff members are very polite and they will always welcomes you with their pretty smile and they will bring everything very quickly whatever you have asked. Food was awesome, i can't stop myself mentioning about the care taker cum chef Gopal. He cooks very nice not only all north Indian food dishes as well as South Indian food. Complimentry breakfast is also very tasty with everyday different menu. Afterall i enjoyed my stay at this place and i would love to visit again there very soon!!! Thanks a lot Colonels Inn for making my trip memorable...👍
