Gorgeous building, fabulous grounds. Perfect base for a mysore tour. The reception desk organised a driver to take us round. Had mutton curry - twice. I really need to buy some when home.

I found the bathroom set up charmingly quaint. With the individual boilers and retro sanitaryware atmospheric and in keeping with the building. My friend said could do with a "birthday party".

Everything was excellent. The views, the food, the location, the staff, the room, the value for the price. Simply superb on all fronts. Loved the high tea at sunset. The food was outstanding.

I love that they allow pets. But I think it's better for them to be upfront that they accommodate pets in certain rooms and with restrictions rather than saying they are pet friendly. If you bring your pet, you are set up in one of two corner rooms on the ground floor and aren't allowed to roam around the premises with your pet. There are no pet friendly dining areas so you are only able to do room service. Breakfast becomes very difficult because you have to go to the restaurant and take turns.

Every thing - the location, hygiene and facilities were all excellent. Reception and check in was excellent. This is a great place to relax. We loved the experience.

There is no elevator . Not senior citizen or handicap friendly. Since this is a heritage building we understand that nothing can be done about it. There is a step into the washroom which one could stumble into while entering into the room since it's very close to the door. One has to be careful while exiting the washroom. This is from the perspective of a senior citizen only

Locations: The property location is the top class. There is other hotel too but Royal Orchid hotel is placed strategically where you get the view of the entire garden all the way to the fountain at the other end. Rooms: The rooms were good. We got the room on the 2nd floor. The balcony was huge. The rooms were apt in size and bathroom was clean and roomy. Restaurants / Bar: The Elephant Bar has a view of the entire garden. In the night, its beautiful with the garden lights on. The bar is well stocked with all drinks. Only starters is served at the bar. The main course is served at the restaurant. The restaurant was good and the food was tasty. Amenities: Valet parking was a bliss. The swimming pool is decent sized. Didn't use the SPA and hence can't comment on it. The front desk took care of our luggage as we had arrived early. We could keep our luggage with them and go on with sight seeing. They welcome you with a welcome drink and a wet hand towel (refreshing towel). Do note: There is no lift and the climb to the top floor can get tiring. On request the hotel does provide rooms at the ground floor.

Swimming Pool: The pool could have been cleaner. Though the pool care taker was around all the time, he wasn't removing the leaves and the insects from the pool. Had to swim with a few dead insects around you. Well, it wasn't that bad and we did enjoy the pool. Front Desk: Not sure if the folks in the front desk were trainees. They seemed to be confused on prioritizing things. At check-in, made us wait but then forget that they asked us to wait. They carried on with their other work. Had to remind them that we were waiting for check-in. At check-out as well, they seem to be fumbling though we let them know were checking out. Again, no red flags as such. It was a minor thing and didn't really change our experience.

- Location is great -This is an old beautiful colonial style building concerted into a hotel. - The view from the room was beautiful. - Spacious room. - Great for a relaxing holiday. - Customer service is great. - Hiresh was very helpful both before we reserved the hotel (answered questions on the phone) and also was very helpful after we checked in at the hotel. - Kumarswamy, Noor were great in terms of service at restaurant and the afternoon snacks in the patio. - Kumari and other staff were quite helpful when it came to room service, cleaning etc. -

- No outdoor seating for restaurant even during these times of COVID-19 pandemic. So we tried to avoid the restaurant as much as possible. - Bath tub could have been a bit more clean. -

The rooms and location. The breakfast spread was simple and expected but the quality and taste was good. we had biryani and chicken steak for dinner which was passable and did not like that much.

i think for the price the restaurant food can be better especially the continental menu.

The rooms were extremely comfortable. Loved the view from the first floor. The intercom in my room was not working (206) and that was the only issue. Rest all was excellent.

No intercom. Mixing water for bath was a little cumbersome for the kids, but I guess thats the case anywhere with old plumbing systems. No face towels in our room.

No lift. It is hard for elders to climb 5 stairs each time they have to come for dinner or to go out. That is the only drawback. Food and bar are very good.

This property rates as one of my favourite destinations as it has the charm of a true heritage building combined with the superb facilities offered by Royal Orchid .. Great Food, Great rooms and cleanliness every where …!!

One request that I have is related to the urgent requirement of adequate ventilation in the washrooms to enable quick drying, please do this immediately … thank you

Located amidst the Brindavan gardens, Mysore, the majestic building was perfect for a holiday. The room was large, the view from the balcony was fabulous. The furnishings and the bath fittings were a bit run down, but clean. It was lovely to walk around the gardens in the morning, without the crowds of the evening. The breakfast was good. We had invited a few relatives over for dinner. The food, for dinner, was rather ordinary. Overall we had a pleasant stay. A monkey entering our room on the third floor provided some additional excitement!

The furnishings and bath fittings could do with a makeover. The jostling of the crowds on the walk to the musical fountain was a bit unnerving for our guests and the jumping of queues to take the boat back was unpleasant. It would be worth considering a private boat ride for the hotel guests.
