This is top class stuff in terms of interior design and decoration. The welcoming ceremony is fun. Staff are always on hand to attend to every need. Spa / massage is a must. Breakfast is good.

Wifi is annoying with always having to log back in or to get a new little paper slip with access codes. Other hotels in southern India have this provider and it really is not good. They should look for a different provider. The rooms have small windows so natural light is scarce. The dinner menu is diverse but nothing really jumps out as a signature dish. All in all for the price everything should be perfect but they fall short in some areas. That equates to the establishment being overpriced.

Spacious rooms, friendly staff, very tasty estaurant. The hotel is an oasis in an otherwise hectic city. There were not many guests staying as we visited during the low tourist season, so everything was quite personalized for us. Location was a bit further out from the city center but this is a positive not a negative.

Due to visiting during the tourist low season, there hotel felt almost eerily quiet at times. The pool and bar were closed for presumably the same reasons

We stayed at Svatma Tanjavur for two nights (Jan 20 and Jan 21, 2024). We were on vacation for the first time in India in a decade and we had an outstanding experience at Svatma. The hotel's ambience was outstanding and exquisitely beautiful. Everything was exceptional—from the hotel's location; to the room quality, cleanliness, and amenities; to the outstanding breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner; to the bar; and to the professionalism and hospitality of the staff in every department.  Please kindly let all of your staff know how much we enjoyed our stay, and how much we appreciated their prompt services and superb hospitality. One of a kind Heritage stay - one of our best hotel stays in a cozy sized property. our Heritage Suite was perfection - the kids loved the alcove in which they slept - the room was regally done, but thankfully not over the top as many other properties tend to do. The food was exceptionally good - and the staff & service matched the food (thanks Pramod for making our stay a memorable one). The small Pool maintained the heritage vibes and contrary to our plans, we ended spending some time in the pool. The massage by the poolside was a bonus. OUTSTANDING !!

I wish we had been informed about some of the activities (Yoga or Music) when we checked in - we would have loved to fit it into our schedule.

Modern yet heritage property with excellent staff, excellent food. Rooms are quite spacious and the detailing to showcase heritage designs are mind blowing. Very well thought, well maintained property and the food is to die for.

Nothing major, however a feedback - this property boasts a lot of local experiences and I felt it wasn’t advertised enough for people who would like to witness it. Even the facilities for that matter, we had to explore everything on our own.

The successful triumphs of keeping our heritage rather than just money-making business we liked most. Svatma allocated vast space with vegetation and natural feeling for tranquillity but didn't mind using the space to make money. That's the idea that makes this hotel into sanctuary peaceful home. Please keep it up for our forthcoming visits 🙏 😊 ♥️.

themed rooms and amenities friendly front desk staff during check in *comfortable and well appointed rooms *they automatically upgraded us to a bigger room to accommodate 3 adults and 1 kid which helpful though booking.com did tell us it could accommodate our family when we booked

*wifi did not work even after contacting front desk for help *food was very average *hot water takes a good 3-5 minutes resulting in a lot of wastage of water *lack of sleeping rooms for drivers *they don’t take international credit cards which is a bummer

It’s a bit out of the way but you can get a taxi or auto to the sights. Food was nice and reasonably priced. Be aware that the restaurant will put a bottle of water on your table and then charge you Rs 245 for it! That’s pretty expensive water for India.

few things that went wrong ( summarized below) made this a mediocre experience. The property is beautiful, but we did not get the true value or experience we deserved.

1) In a couples room there was only one towel - I called housekeeping/ reception desk, told them my husband was in the shower & requested a towel quickly - no kidding it took 3 phone calls & -10 mins to get the towels. 2) internet was not working 3) Ordered Kingfisher beer ( from the menu) at the rooftop bar - they didn’t have it 4) Ordered Fig, walnut , saffron kulfi ( from the menu) at dinner - they didn’t have it. When the hotel charges considerably they should provide service appropriately.

The property was clean and very well kept. The rooms were cozy and the facilities were excellent as well. I travelled with my 18 month old daughter and hence we had a lot of special requests, but the staff was very welcoming and did everything they can to accommodate our requests and make our stay a very pleasant one. I have to mention that the restaurant, while having only few options, served really good vegetarian cuisine. There were also some good local classical music performances that they organised which was very good indeed. Overall a really good stay.

The bathrooms were quite small. There was a lot of initial confusion with the rooms that we booked and the staff were unable to figure out what the mistake. Eventually we had to repack and change our room the next day, but the staff were still quite understanding and made it easier that it would have been.
