Best place to stay in varanasi! I have been travelling from last 9 months but this hostel was really special. From there hospitality to there staff. Hostel is very clean and there food is amazing. Thank u nidhi didi for the delicious food u cook. Yash and vikesh is very nice at front desk. Shiva,sunil and ajeet are fantastic houskeepers. The vibe of common area will trap u forever.. At last i want to say if any one is travelling to varanasi this is the place to stay...

Absolutely Nothing

The staff were very friendly. I also felt very safe throughout my stay.😍 I have met Yash, Sunil, Nidhi, Vikesh and Other Staff 😍. The place was clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The rooms were always tidy and the Staff keep it clean. It's an amazing location and a great place to meet and network with other people. The common area is amazing with Music, and the overall vibe was positive. Nidhi's Food is amazing.😍 The location is easily accessible to get around.

Some guests didn’t keep the washrooms clean, which meant the staff had to clean repeatedly, which was unfair to them. It would be great if guests were reminded to keep shared spaces clean, especially the washrooms, to reduce pressure on the staff and keep the place nicer for everyone.

I recently stayed at this charming little hostel during my spiritual and cultural escape to Varanasi—and wow, what an experience! What I Loved: ✅ Location, location, location! Just a short walk from the ghats, and close enough to the chaos of the city without being swallowed by it. Sunrise at the Ganga felt like a VIP experience. ✅ Friendly Staff – The folks at the front desk were super helpful and full of local tips—where to eat, what to see, and how not to get scammed (bless them). ✅ Clean Beds & Chill Vibes – The dorms were neat, the common area had a very “meet-the-world” feel, and I even joined an impromptu jam session with a backpacker from Argentina! ✅ WiFi worked well, even during a thunderstorm, which I consider nothing short of a miracle in India. Final Verdict: If you're looking for an affordable, sociable, and well-located place to stay in the spiritual heart of India, this hostel is a solid pick. My stay at Moustache Dormitory in Varanasi was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I arrived, Sunil at the reception ensured a warm and comfortable experience, while our guide, Prathiush, made the journey through the ancient city truly enlightening. Exploring the spiritual heart of Varanasi with a diverse group of travelers—including visitors from different countries—added to the richness of the experience. The boat ride on the Ganga, the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, and the deep historical insights about the 80 ghats brought a profound sense of connection to the city’s heritage. Walking through the bustling streets, indulging in famous local delicacies, and navigating the vibrant alleys made the trip even more memorable. It never felt like just a stay in a dormitory—it was an immersive experience made special by the people and the city's timeless aura.

Amazing Solo Travel Experience at Moustache Hostel! 🌟 I recently did a solo trip and chose to stay at Moustache Hostel, and I must say it was one of the best decisions I made! From the moment I arrived, I felt completely safe and comfortable, which is a big deal when you’re traveling alone—especially as a woman. 👩‍🦰🌍 The vibe of the hostel is super friendly and welcoming. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had all the facilities a solo traveler could need. But what truly made my experience memorable was the amazing staff. Everyone was very professional and always ready to help. A special shoutout to Yash—he was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. 🙌 His behavior was very respectful and professional, and he made sure that all guests were taken care of. You can tell that he takes his job seriously and really cares about people having a good experience. He even gave me some great tips for local places to visit and eat, which really added to my trip. 🍽️📍 I felt completely secure throughout my stay, even at night, which made it so much easier to relax and enjoy my trip. Very nice hostel with clean rooms. The staff is great and helpful. You can enjoy on the rooftop. Nearby is a very good restaurant where you can eat (not the cheapest but the money). They oder loundery service in the hostel. Lockers in the room are avaible. Even my very big backpack fits inside. But I had one of the bigger lockers. To coonect with travelers it is the perfect place. And very near to the river. Down 20 meters is a playground for freeletics.small park. Bathrooms is cleaned often. Not too noisy. Good to sleep. The ledder for reaching the upper beds is a little difficult to climb.

Cave : there are some extra tax to pay each day. I didn't know that and was surprised. But was ok. You get the info via the emay when you book on booking.

The vibe at the hostel is 😍 the crowd was mostly young but we (the not so young) could gel easily with them it was as if age doesn't matter it's the wavelength and the ambience that makes the connection possible it's near the assisi ghat and that makes it all the more fun it's a different world altogether where you have people playing their favourite songs or some story telling sessions and a beautiful common area where friendships just form in a jiffy we enjoyed our stay very much and will surely go back again and again and a special mention about aashish who is full of wonderful anecdotes about the place and takes his own sweet time to explain everything in detail and there is another person yash who is equally charming and very helpful and they all go out of their way to make you comfortable and the remaining staff are also friendly and nice

Lack of enough windows in the dorms

The best thing about this hostel is it's crowd which is highly safe for girls . And ofc the common area's vibe❤

Moustache Varanasi is an absolute gem of a property when it comes to hostels. It's so great that it feels like a half home to me. I stayed at the property for about 10 days this time & not once did I feel the need or urge to go with any other property. The staff, the facilities, the fellow travellers turned friends, the Chai, the Common Areas - Everything was so on point & Delightful. Grateful much to the on-site team, especially Yash Ji & Mayank Ji for being extremely kind and compassionate. Much Love!

Absolutely nothing. It's perfect!

This hostel is close to Assi ghat, really lovely ghat to see the ceremonies as it’s slightly less busy than the main ghat. There are lovely cafes close by and also a great cafe and communal area in the hostel. Staff and visitors are all really friendly and respectful of privacy too. The rooms are amenities are cleaned daily. The reception staff are really helpful with suggestions and advice for visiting the area. Love this place!

Honestly, it’s all great! I can’t fault it. I’ve been in a room with AC :)
