Firstly this place is absolutely gorgeous and in the lap of nature. You will hear sounds of other creatures which makes you feel like you are in your own little jungle which is very calming for a person who travelled from a super modern busy city. This place helped me detox and touch grass literally. The bath tub is so gorgeous and everything is so earthen which makes for a very charming stay. The location is a bit off beat but I think that’s the best part. No noise.. no crowd. It’s a great place to either start your trip or end your trip if you want relaxation and peace. Being this close to nature you will encounter/hear the other creatures that we share space with so keep that in mind while booking. I feel they add to the charm of this place. The staff is very helpful and attentive. 100 % would recommend

We had a bit of trouble with hot water pressure. The water is warm not hot and the pressure is a bit slow. I would have enjoyed the gorgeous washroom more if it had proper water pressure

We loved our stay at Magatama! We had the most beautiful villa and the view was breathtaking, the rooms were very traditional with mosquito nets on all the beds. The pool was lovely and the staff were very helpful. We also loved our daily walk to De Pondok for dinner through the local village. The owners live across the road and my children met their children and they invited us in to pat their bunny rabbits, the kids loved this. Quick grab ride to all the rice field restaurants and swings, we really enjoyed this part of Bali. My husband and I loved sitting out on our balcony in the early evening, very relaxing.

They don't have a "restaurant" as advertised, it has since been closed so all dining is done at your room. We didn't mind it but if the sun was out you (and the food) are sitting in very hot direct sunlight so we ended up having to eat on our bed. Also as the food is served at your villa there are then ants. They really need to re-open the restaurant seating. Our children are 4 & 6 and the stairs to the attic are VERY steep and we had to put "rules" in about coming up and down, it is not suitable for children younger than 5 (in the villa we stayed in).

Fantastic experience for people who value privacy looking for an opportunity to escape from the buzz & unite with nature. Be prepared to hear the jungle ihabitants at night. We loved it! The best atmosphere & hosts!

At the moment the restaurant is under renovation, they provide room service dining instead. The common pool is also under renovation, although villas have private pools.

Magatama Villa by Mahaputra is a stunning property, but it has a few minor shortcomings. The remote location makes getting to local attractions less convenient without private transport. Some guests have mentioned the need for better maintenance in certain areas, and the steep terrain may not be suitable for those with mobility concerns.

If you are looking for a private infinity pool overlooking the Ubud forest then then this is your place! The pool and the view was amazing, we even. had our own swim up bar. The decking and garden was really beautiful and the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was pretty made of stones and pebbles and very exotic looking and we arrived to a traditional flower bath. The staff were very helpful and assisted us with any queries we had. I left my kindle there and they even arranged a driver to return it to me. excellent service from the staff!

The whole cabin was quite dark, would have been great with more light. The location is a bit tricky, we arrived at night and struggled to find it with the google maps.

We stayed in a villa with a private pool to ourselves. This villa is located in the outskirts of Ubud and it's serene and calm. It's excellent value for money. The bathroom looked beautiful with natural stone flooring, huge bath tub and great toiletries. The entire villa has a stone and wood theme which looked and felt really nice. The stone bath tub had warm water which was sweet. Felt like we lived inside nature with nobody around. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon for a night and we had a great time.

As it's in a mountainous region, one has to walk in a steep path to the villas. While this is only a minor inconvenience (may be an enjoyable experience for some), it could be difficult for elderly people. While most stay options in bali provide complementary breakfast, this place doesn't offer one and you've to order from their menu.

- We expected the experience that we had (from pictures and descriptions provided) - The service and staff were great (as usual in Bali) - Motorbikes provided by the hotel. - A little bit more secluded area (it was what we were looking for). As a consequence, there was an electricity cut in the area but they were diligent in solving the problem in a few minutes. Those minutes were special too as we were in a special solitude.

Going to the room from and to the main road required some effort as it was a steep short way. Not much inconvenience for us but maybe for old people.

The ladies at the reception and the staff in general were really kind, polite and helpful. There are many facilities like room service, laundry, transfer and massage. We loved the view and design, as well as the privacy we had. Also the bed was soo nice and comfortable we wanted to stay all day! The hotel is at the jungle so we had visitors small frogs and lizards which was not a problem, but there were also many insects.

Some times we didn't have warm water. Also, I really liked the breakfast, but my partner thought it was a bit small portion and not much variety.

The cleanliness and staff were superb. The villa was gorgeous and everything one needs. The view is absolutely stunning. Regardless of the lack of activities on the premises, the local region is authentic and not popular amongst tourists, which was definitely a plus. However, this naturally does result in a lack of services within the region. For anyone wanting to order food or taxis on mobile applications like GoJek or Grab, the location is not suitable for that. This is just up to one’s individual preferences and doesnt affect my grading of the accomodation.

The public pool was out of service without any prior announcement. Wasn’t a deal breaker for us tho, as our villa had its own smaller pool. Food was decent, but not the greatest. The resort premises lack any activity. We would’ve loved to see a small bar with drinks, or a sit-in restaurant instead of having food delivered to our room.

I just hope villa will do mybe a bus /taxi shutter with less cost (cheaper from grab) for guest to go to tourist attractions place,since it’s quite far a bit ,but well I dont really mind paying lil bit money since I Love this place so much .it’s quiet and peace,even though I had a last day nightmare but the staff and the owner handle it professionally so is make me calm.Thanks !! ❣️
