The hotel is conveniently located from the shopping malls which we were able to just walk over from our location. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms were really clean. Overall, cosy and homey.

May I suggest having a card system for your deposit? Sometimes, people only bring just enough foreign currency for their travels, and only accepting cash would mean they would short off that amount until the day of their check out. Also, the walls are quite thin and not really sound proofed - so we could hear other people's screaming and shouting and even conversation (and sometimes, it could be at the odd hour of the night).

The big one is the location: It's very close to two of the biggest malls in Indonesia, Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia. It's also close to a MRT station and two busway stations. You do need to walk about half a mile at least to reach it, but it makes the place very strategic. The price is also very reasonable, given where it's at. The staff will clean your room everyday even if you don't request it. There's a laundry service available if you need it. You can ask the staff to launder it or to self laundry at the restaurant, although the latter option is slightly more expensive.

Soundproof doesn't really exist. You can hear water flowing on its water pipes and/or sounds from other people if they spoke/do things loud enough. It's not an issue for me but I can see it being an issue for some. While it has cafe at the topmost floor, it's only purpose is for hanging out: The actual restaurant is about 20 meters away to the left and across the street from the Choska building. Again, not a problem for me but it can be an issue for some and/or when it rained. Some minor complaints include creaking bed frame, a chair that's uncomfortable to sit for more than a few hours and a pillow that took some time to get comfortable with.

The hotel was exceptional for what we paid for! All the basic amenities are complete. We opted for the deluxe family room eventhough I only travelled with my friend because from the room size description, taking a smaller room would be too cramped with the suitcases we have brought along. Strategically located too, located within the locals residences. Has walkable distance to Grand Indonesia, Thamrin City, Plaza Indonesia & some other attractions.

One things for sure, it would've been much better if there was a full sized mirror in the room itself. We had to make do & used the small mirror available in the bathroom to get ready. One more is that the bathroom toilet is not frosted just tinted so if you're going with friends, you need to remind them not to stand in front of the toilet door where they can definitely see you in there.

Choska is in a quiet backstreet in an otherwise manic part of the city. It's stylish, with good facilities (including a lift). The common areas are great and the roof terrace is a real oasis (even though the rooftop cafe isn't open). My windowless room was comfy with plenty of space and ideal for my needs. The staff were friendly and helpful and keep the place very clean. Breakfast is provided via vouchers valid at an interesting cafe across the road. The hotel will look after your luggage after checkout, which is helpful. I'd certainly consider staying here again.

The place can be noisy as the hotel's used by a lot of young Javanese students who appear to be attending conferences/events. The one thing about the building that seems to have been skimped on is the soundproofing, so earplugs are useful. Calling the fridge in the room a 'minibar' is misleading and should be changed as alcohol isn't permitted in the hotel.

The rooftop is definitely the highlight of the stay: it is so BEAUTIFUL especially at night. It comes with breakfast too, what a catch with such affordable price. I stayed twice here, when we needed to have a place to stay before going to Bandung, and the next one is when we were back again in Jakarta, quite satisfied with both experiences.

Fridge is definitely too big for such a small room, could change it to a smaller fridge and maximize the space. The room is definitely not soundproof at all: I could hear water running from the room next to me from their toilet.

The location was very strategic. Walking distance (10 -15 min) to 3 different malls (Plaza Indonesia, Grand Indonesia & Thamrin City Mall). Easy to get grab/gojek/etc if needed. There's many street food along the way to the mall. 3 convenience stores available nearby (Lawson, Alfamart & Indomaret). The interior of the place is modern & clean. Room is small (no window) but enough neccesity & comfortable for resting. Staff was very friendly & you can always ask them for help.There's a rooftop with city view where you can chill. If you are in a budget & you want a very affordable + strategic stay, then this is a perfect place for you. I would definitely come here again soon.

There's a smart tv (can watch youtube, netflix, etc) but no access to local channel. Towel size kinda small. The alley to the hotel is okay during the day but at night is a bit dark so if you are an all girl group, i suggest you take a grab if you go back to hotel after dark.

The staff made this property for me! I lost my purse in the morning before my check in and they rang round and did lots of research to try and help me, eventually texting me after we checked out to let us know they found it so we could go and collect. They were very welcoming and helpful throughout from the reception staff to the cleaners and floor staff. The location is very central and within walking distance to main areas including lots of restaurants, local markets and the big shopping centres. It’s a shame the cafe on the top floor wasn’t open when we were there as it looked so good but you can still sit up there and the view is amazing, you should definitely check it out if you stay. In terms of the room, we have both stayed in rooms without windows before and spent most of our time out so we didn’t really notice any issue, the ladder would be an issue for those who are older/less mobile. It’s a cool room that I would say is more suitable for a young couple or people used to travelling.

The lack of window made the room smell a little damp after a shower and the shower water was not hot at first but they did fix this after we asked 😊
