Literally one of the best places I've stayed so far (from hostels and 5 star hotels), in thousands of stays and hundreds of trips around the world. Great friendly and helpful staff. Very good quality of construction, and minimal noise from neighbours or staff. I got a free upgrade to the larger one bedroom unit that was available. Comfy hard bed. Huge areas. 5 or 6 floors of parking. Very long pool and a practical gym with 3 treadmills. I didn't even check the ground floor which had a running track and BBQ facilities. I also didn't try the breakfast/restaurant since it wasn't included in my booking, and we ate outside due to various commitments. The location isn't too bad.

As someone without a clearly defined religion, and that appreciates silence, respect, and not disturbing others, the only problem is really all the really loud noise coming from the Mosque speakers. We stayed over the weekend, including the Friday, and apparently that's the day with the most praying/activity. I was travelling around in Indonesia for 1 month when I stayed, so was already used to the 4AM wake up calls, and just slept through it. But trying to enjoy the pool between 11AM and 2PM was literally impossible due to the constant very loud chants. There's not much more that I can complain about, and I'm usually very demanding.

There's always something that could exceed your expectations (or didn't meet them) when it comes to the approach of the hotel. Regarding Somerset, it just clicked with my personal taste and needs. - Extremely skilled staff (every time I thanked the hotel manager in my thoughts) - super attentive and empathic, they go extra mile in any thing they do (it's not a joke: when I was hungry on my way to the airport Ana from the reception in 2 minutes fixed it and gifted me with a package of beautiful food; when I confessed that I drink a lot of water the extended amount of water was immediately delivered to my room). - Everything you need to keep up with comfort and healthy lifestyle you have on hand: selection of high quality foods at breakfast, gym, sauna (my personal gratitude to the hotel management), jacuzzi, great long swimming pool with unbelievable city view and even a running track. The selection at the breakfast is very balanced, well cooked and elegantly presented, I was impressed by Bubur Ayam and ingredients for Gado-Gado. For me all is enough, I don't feel lack of anything. I cannot mention just a minor flaw about Somerset Sudirman Hotel.

Room is a good size. We got a free upgrade and it came with a kitchen and water dispenser-- super useful in this humid country. Breakfast buffet is not the best for vegans like myself but they have a good selection. The place itself is good but the location I'm not so sure. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking the streets at night.

The room is not soundproof. Be prepared to wake up around sunrise. There's no way of turning the lights around the wardrobe off.

I had a wonderful stay at Somerset Sudirman Jakarta. The location is extremely central, making it very convenient to explore the city. The staff were always helpful and attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety of options. One of the highlights was the pool, which boasts an incredible view of the city — perfect for relaxing after a long day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jakarta.

Spacious; clean; comfortable bed; stable water shower; bowls and plates were provided in the little kitchen and there is a fridge which makes it easy for me to prepare my own breakfast daily; there is a washing and dryer machine which is convenient for my long work trip

Kitchen light can't turn off; wardrobe light also can't turn off; the drinking water tap is not usable because when I turn it on, the water has odour, which means the bottled water has been left there for long. So, I ended up having to buy my own water from the Indomart a few blocks away; being a light sleeper, I didn't have good sleep because every day 4am+ the praying will start at the mosque next door

Location, view, efficiency, kindness, receptionists ALL top, friendly, english skills, friendly and helpful doorman, friendly breakfast staff, well mannered, nice design, spacious interior, very clean. They immediately sent the technician when the light did not go out in the shelf. Fast problem solving.

Despite the general cleanliness when I moved in, I found the hairs of the previous guest still in the shower, but it can happen, no problem. Maybe tell your cleaning staff to clean the walls in the shower too :)

I appreciated the tight security, the attitude of the staff checking in and out. The overall stay was truly an experience. You enter the lobby and it smells nice, its bright , infused water is available for guests. The room was a good size with a stove, microwave,washing machine,water filter, cutleries (almost a full kitchen really) and this was the basic room. I loved the balcony, the noise from outside was minimal, the room was bright enough. The walls were not thin so you dont hear much noise from the next rooms. Bed was comfortable, extra pillows were provided.

The towels couls be replaced as they seem a little old and one of them had a musky smell.

Spacious, clean although I saw a few black ants running in the bathroom everyday but they dont affect me, comfortable bed; aircon can be controlled to comfortable level

Breakfast variety is limited, I ate almost the same thing everyday for 6 days; I booked this hotel because of its launderette service but that level was under renovation so I have to do the washing in my room, very disappointed

Nice looking hotel with good facilities (sauna, pool, gym etc) and varied all-you-can eat breakfast for about €8,50 and the possibility of ordering a good meal for about the same price via roomservice the rest of the day. Staff/receptionists are friendly and extremely helpful, e.g. arranging transport (extensively texting and calling Travel Agents to take you to other parts of Java) and setting me up with a (more luxurious for the same price) room to help me escape the noise from Mosques' calls to prayer (see "didn't like"). Really, 6 out of 5 stars for the receptionists.

Although the Sudirman area is a good central area to stay in Jakarta, the hotel is surrounded by various mosques, whose calls to prayer are a real nuisance, at least in the middle of the night. During Ramadan it was even worse, but also after that had ended the 4AM chants continued and regularly woke me up despite wearing earplugs. It is, admittedly, a widespread phenomenon throughout Jakarta and Indonesia, probably impossible to escape altogether no matter what part of the city you are staying and obviously not the hotel itself that is creating the noise, but the sheer volume of the religious chants and the number of mosques creating it do to some extent diminish the 'location' rating.
