Short walking distance to Lovina beach and surrounding shops and restaurants, but down a side street making the area very quiet, with no noise issues disturbing your sleep. The staff were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile whenever they saw us. They also had some recommendations of waterfalls to visit and helped to organise a motorbike rental as well as a transfer to our next hotel in Ubud. Make sure to ask them for their help guide/Lovina pdf in advance of your stay (for some reason they only send this the day of), as it includes helpful tips and prices for activities and transfers from their local contacts. Prices will be cheaper than what you can get from third party booking sites, and they’ll be able to vouch for the locals they recommend - plus the locals see the benefits from your direct booking rather than lose a portion of the money to a third party vendor. Room was very spacious, clean and there was a small fridge which was handy and aircon worked well.

Water pressure wasn’t great but this was quite common across many areas in Bali.

Everything I needed for a few nights for the cheap price. Breakfast was simple but very nice & tasty. Room was very clean and spacious. Water refill available at common area. Close to restaurants & day spas. Activities could be booked at reception. Staff were lovely & friendly & helpful with information. AC was lovely and cool in the room. High pressure shower.

Not enough sunbeds for guests. Other guests made a bit of noise as rooms are not very soundproof. Guests going for early morning tours were noisy talking loudly and scraping furniture above my room at 4:30-5pm (this is not the hotels fault) but be prepared to wake up at this hour from this ongoing issue.

Cannot say enough good things about Kubu Elsa and how lovely my stay was here. Komang and Mama Ketut were always so helpful, and accommodating to any and every request. They, along with the other staff, went above and beyond to make my stay in Lovina that much more memorable. Breakfast was simple but adequate with a few options to cater to everyone’s taste. The rooms were ample and spacious, comfortable and well-appointed, it had everything I needed plus a beautiful view of the mountain and surrounding landscape. The villas are located in the centre of the Lovina beach district and only a 5 minute walk to the beach with Jalan Binaria just a stone’s throw away. Komang gets a special mention for a quick turnaround when I asked to upgrade rooms, arranging local transport for me when I wanted to get out to the waterfalls, temples and hot springs for an afternoon; AND also organising my transfer to Ubud on the day of check out. Five stars to the staff for the excellent service and hospitality! I would highly recommend and have promised myself I will go back :)

Nothing. Everything was great!

The people running this place are great. They are super friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were spacious and very clean with a big comfy bed and a good sized bathroom. The breakfast was nice and included some homemade mango and pineapple jam, which was delicious. You can organise tours through the hotel and they are pretty good, with a better price than other options we found.

No fridge in the room is the only real downside, but there is a communal fridge in the breakfast area. Sometimes noise from bars nearby but this is no fault of the hotel.

The friendliness of the staff. Komang and his partner were lovely hosts. The property is pristine clean and beautifully maintained. At Komang’s suggestions it was no trouble for them to modify the breakfast menu to accommodate my vegan diet. Lovely fresh fruit and delicious banana pancakes. There’s an urn that has constant boiling water and tea and coffee are provided. The pool area is delightful and has plenty of shade and the water in the pool was extremely clean and was not highly chlorinated.

I am not a smoker and it is unpleasant to have smoking allowed in the breakfast area. Lovina beach is not very clean (much rubbish/plastic) and I didn’t swim there. There were also many boat owners vying/hassling for business. I chose not to participate in the dolphin tour as three different people told me of their experience. The boat owners hound the dolphins and stay way too close them. I do not ethically agree with this practice. I feel for the small business operators but we have to try and respect the environment and marine life.

I had a lovely stay at Kubu Elsa Bali. The staff is very friendly and helped organise transport. The pool is clean and has nice shaded sun loungers. The property is overall very beautiful. Delicious breakfast and nice clean bungalows with very comfortable beds. The location is good also, on a quiet street but just a few steps from the beach. The only downside really is the lack of a refrigerator in the bungalow. There's a big communal fridge though and they also sell cold drinks at reasonable prices.

We loved our experience staying at this hotel. The staff are the very best!! Especially the main man who I think is called Komong, he was so kind and helpful and attentive to everything we needed!! Our room was wonderful and the pool was so clean and beautiful. We loved everything! Thankyou so much for making our time with you so special. Liz you have a fantastic team!

This accommodation made me go wow. It was so gorgeous to look at, and the owner was so lovely and accommodating.i had requested early arrival, and our room was ready. Fantastic shower and beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed Had a lovely pool to relax in and lovely garden around the complex. Included was a lovely breakfast, simple but very delicious

The hotel provides decent clean (in traditional style) rooms. The place has recently got a new owner and he has put effort in getting the rooms and bathrooms renovated, but it is still basic. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. All in all the hotel is value for (not to much) money.

The breakfast is okay and well prepared. But your choice is limited. It didn’t bother us however. The aircon in the room was not able to get the temperature at a “cool” level.

Staff very nice and available, especially Komang who’s super friendly, and helped me organize my drive to my next location. Hotel is well located, 3 minutes walking from the beach. Super clean. Breakfast is fresh and very good

WiFi tended to be limited sometimes, probably because my bungalow was at the back of the hotel.
