The staff were friendly and welcoming. They upgraded me to a larger room, which was spotlessly clean and smelled fresh. The breakfast included with the reservation, which varied daily, was fantastic. The location couldn't be better, with all the tourist attractions in the city and the train station within walking distance. This hotel offered unbeatable value for money. Check-out time was a bit later and free luggage storage after check-out was also readily available.

My room was not facing the road but even so, I could still hear noise from the traffic on occasion.

Within walking distance from the train station. (This was the sole reason why I booked this hotel.) Room is compact, great for solo traveller. Room has no windows which was not indicated and the toilet is very tiny. Room comes with the usual amenities, nothing to complain about. Air con is powerful and hot shower is fantastic. Adequate English cable channels provided. Wifi works well Check in was a breeze. Staff very friendly and efficient. I was upgraded to a non smoking standard room. This was very much appreciated. A number of good eateries within easy reach from the hotel. Convenience store a few minutes walk away.

Nothing to dislike. But would be great if the room has a mini fridge.

Room is quite small but enough for one person and comfortable. Unfortunately the table/desk is not enough for working but they allowed me to use the 'dining room' to work even until late. Location is perfect, easy to find food etc. There's a museum Tjong A Fie nearby. Also TipTop restaurant that has a history, established in 1934 with Chinese, western and Indonesia authentic and unique flavor or taste. The staff is incredible good also friendly and very helpful. I got room upgrade to standard in 4th floor when he knew I couldn't climb the stair with my small suitcase in 6th floor, my previous booking. Very nice....

So far so good, the room boy is also doing a good job in cleaning the room and tidy the bed

This is not my 1st time stay in this hotel and what make me amazed is that the staff such as the security, f&b,housekeeping and maintenance staff still recognise me and my family. They greet us and very friendly especially Rangga from F&B. He has a good attitude and make us feel welcome in this hotel.

The hotel was fullybooked and my room is at 6th floor where there is no lift. I tried to request to change room or pay extra due to my right knee injured. I was not allowed by doctor to stress up my leg coz still on going treatment. I was in pain and try not to go down except during breakfast and the rest is room service. As per the bed, a bit shaky and afraid can easily fell down.

We only stayed for 1 night before heading to Batu Katak but the hotel was very nice. The beds were absolutely huge, we had 2 double beds which easily fit the 5 of us. The beds were very hard which I really like, much better for your back. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The pillows weren't great, somehow very high. The.breakfast also wasn't that good, it should have had basics like fried eggs.

It was really clean, friendly staff that spoke English, really good Internet connection. A really good restaurant right across the street that serve beer called the Tip top. I’m a vegan so the breakfast at the hotel while there was a lot of stuff they didn’t serve a lot of fruit or things that I could eat so we had breakfast at tiptop every day.

I guess a couple of things which were pretty minimal but we stayed on the sixth floor and the elevator only goes to the fifth floor so you have to walk up the last flight of stairs. So if you have issue with stairs that might be a problem. And it’s right yay on a busy street which I didn’t have a problem with but my husband didn’t sleep well because of the noise. If you get a room that’s not streetside it has to be a single and we were two people and so we couldn’t get a room not Streetside.

Fantastic central location, within colonial heritage area, many excellent food outlets and places of interest within walkable distance, including the train station. Superior Double Room is large and very clean, service is good, and bed is comfortable. Would return on our next trip.

Main concern: Beware of noise due to heavy traffic along the main road. Definitely not for the light sleeper. Nitpicks: Large room with plenty of floorspace, but without enough table and shelf space. Bathroom is large, but sink is small, limited surface area to place toiletries.

My second time staying at Kama. First one wasn’t that great due to some hiccup. But this time all are perfect. Even we got the smoking room at level 6 which required a little climb over a staircase. The room done pretty well and clean. No smoking smell which is great.

No nearby convinient shop. But not a big deal, just would be even better if there is one nearby.

The price, the cleanliness of the property, the size of the room (family room).

1. The hallway on the bedroom floor is too small. You could hear people walking and talking. 1 night I even startled when some teen guests were running loudly and yelled SURPRISED and sang happy bday at 10.30 PM wtf (!!!) 2. I booked 1 fam room for me & 1 DBL room (my parents). 1 day, my dad lost his shorts in the room, the room had been cleaned by hotel staff beforehand when we went sightseeing. He called the receptionist to report, and apparently they have the shorts with them. They returned it without giving any apology nor explanation 🙃👎🏼

Great location near key sites, and right opposite the historic Tip Top rrstaurant. Also within walking distance of the airport train, which can be handy. Smallish but decent clean rooms, and I got an upgrade (meaning I can't vouch for the room I had actually booked). Staff friendly, but the ones I encountered spoke surprisingly little English and were thus unable to give me good advice on transport options.

Staff spoke surprisingly little English (less than in most hostels I stayed in elsewhere in Sumatra), so getting advice on transport options was difficult. The hotel requests a 100,000 deposit, which is fair enough --- but it has to be in *cash, which can be very inconvenient if you're about to leave indonesia and have little local currency left. Not sure why credit card is not an option... The aircon, as is so often the case, was freezing and loud, is it was a choice of freeze or sweat.
